What a well spoken and articulate young man! Excellent interview!
He was definitely the highlight!
I see the music snippet in this video got tagged as "Bernie's Tune" by Milt Buckner. But it's actually by Curley Hamner's band. For whatever reason, the Ultra-Lounge CD series reissued both songs in the 90's as one combined track and credited it to "Curley Hamner and Milt Buckner," so now these two unrelated records are forever joined in the eyes of the TH-cam licensing system. Anyhow, I know I'm being boring and pedantic, but if the label accountants are going to demand their two bits, it should at least go into the right bucket.
What a surprise! I was there in the audience that day! 4:13 of the video. I'm the guy in the yellow jacket on th aisle!!!
Juicy story, Dave ...
“Hey Mark, we did it!” signed, roids
“Ball, get out of my Cola!“
I’ll be honest, the steroid era was fantastic.
A free vial of HGH for the first 10,000 fans to arrive at the stadium.
He used to get so mad when people asked him what he was on… swore he was clean.

Mr. Forneris (who seems like a wonderful, giving person) "caught" the home run ball at a night game in St. Louis, presented the ball to McGwire in a ceremony after the game, and then the very next day was at Disney World in Florida and also in New York City to be interviewed by Dave (whose shows were usually taped in the late afternoon/evening)? I'm trying to figure out how this worked logistically. How much time could he have spend at Disney World?
@@robertgoerss You left out the part where he rescued a cat from a tree and also ran a marathon (or maybe it was two?). Seriously, though, whatever was involved, it was also completely spur-of-the-moment, because until he picked up that home run ball at whatever PM o'clock it was, he had no idea he wouldn't be spending the entire next day right there in St. Louis.

I got a little bit scared that Mark McGwire had died, but it’s been 25 years since he broke the single season home run record.
