@@justjukka It is very difficult to find anything with a drone, or a helicopter. My father was a helicopter pilot for 20 years and flew a lot. This was a wonderful community gathering about Frosty the cow! This is life as it should be. No one was too busy to participate in the rescue of Frosty. Now Frosty belongs to the community. He is their Mascot! Great video Morgan, not by design, but by just being there.
Amen to that. That is one of those times you have to remember THE GOOD SHEPHERD sees all, knows and cares. If HE sees each sparrow as it falls, HE cares about those animals that HE has entrusted to your care.

Ahh Highland cattle, one of the strangest things Iv ever seen was one of those grazing on a roundabout in London (UK). Also the forestry is downright beautiful there, love the riot of colours.
hamfranky , I have two pet highland cows, and I have to say that they are not clumsy with their horns at all. They are perfectly aware of where their horns are at all times. With each other, they sometimes play rough, or have cow squabbles, but with people they're usually quite good at knowing how to avoid hitting them. Or… If they don't like you... the opposite. 😉
How awesome is that? Frosty has a soft spot for redheads....LOL! Love the Scotties. They are the best. We had one who LOVED iced tea in a bottle. If you set yours down on the truck bed, she would grab it, tip it up and drink all of your tea! What a character she was. So happy Frosty is back and safe! Blessings from NE Missouri!
What a great living story! And neighbors that know each other, help each other. Facebook is great for that, so many people post lost pets, its a great way to pass the word and so many get found that wouldn't be found otherwise! I lived in a rural area and had to call the rancher next door -- as on my way to work I passed 3 of his cows munching on grass on the wrong side of the fence, right next to a fairly busy 2 lane blacktop. Luckily I knew where the guy worked (day job), so gave him a call. He thanked me for wrecking his day. lol... People caring about people and animals. The right way of life.
You are such an awesome neighbor. All you folks are so nice. You surround yourself with such great people and beautiful land. So happy that Frosty Came home. I always love a happy ending.
I just binged watch your videos and I can say you and your wife are awesome and this channel is so underrated. I hope you get more views and subscribers. I love the ducks and the geese and the Pablo barn cat and lil barn cat.
Amazing shots and I'm so glad the cow was found, they're so fluffy !!! Another reason that makes it a good idea to train my animals to respond to a specific sounds. If this happens at least I can have a call back sound.
Usually it's better to use scents to try to reclaim animals rather than sounds since it gets to the point a lot of animals stop differentiating friendly sounds from predator sounds and consider them all a threat. That's why it's easier to find a dog or a cat by leaving out a blanket or cat liter rather than trying to call them home. Obviously I don't know what kind of animals you're referring to but food for thought /o/
Timothy Marland Yep, TH-cam picked up on him and recommends his videos. I‘ve been noticing, that that usually happens around 30.000 subscribers with promising new channels.
So happy it ended well. Simeon @Sweedish Homestead raises the Highland and says they know exactly where their horns tips are! Such sweet cattle and a perfect place to raise them in your frigid north!
I'm so glad for the update, I was gonna be really bummed otherwise! Highland cattle are my favorite breed, such gorgeous cows and i would think do really well in your climate. I have another homesteader I watch who's over in Sweden and he has a lovely herd too.
Excellent vlog and so very pleased Frosty returned. With technology and keeping cattle for a long time, too bad they can't be tagged with GPS device for quick location. Keep up the good job.
What a great episode: first and foremost -- a happy ending -- but also with great aerial shots of the beautiful fall foliage of Northeastern Vermont! Loved this video!
I've always loved Highland Cattle. They're such a hearty breed. Beautiful too. They're what got me hooked on watching Swedish Homestead on TH-cam lol. Now they moved to Austria and are starting over so no more cows for now 😕
Man! Those horns 4:20 are awesome! I love Highland Cattle, the way they look with those massive horns, and their ability to produce meat on relatively low quality forage or browse.
That's how a community works together . . . with love, compassion and empathy ( . . . and drones). Our herds, flocks, pets and gardens are a great part of ourself. Wow, talk about taking a leap when you’re getting into cattle and choosing the Highlands over the Dexters! While they are docile and winter hardy, I would factor in their horns and larger size when handling them, as well as their heat tolerance due to their heavy coats. Dexters mature faster (some are naturally polled ) are easy calvers and are known for their great dispositions when worked with. I would contact vets that work with the Highlands and ask for their input .
Love the Highland cattle - beautiful breed. Well I'm too far to buy your eggs or geese but I want to support farmers like you who are truly caring for the animals and doing farming the right way. So I bought 2 t-shirts. Keep up the great work!!!
I'm so very lucky I got to call rural VT my home as a kid. Richmond/Huntington areas were the stuff of magic for a pre-teen with an obsession with agriculture! Maine is of course splendid as well, but it'll never be "home" to me, even after all this time. Amazing how long a domesticated steer can fend for himself for so long away from his herd! Glad he was reunited with his family.

Thank you for sharing the story of Frosty going for a walk in the woods. I am so glad it has a happy ending. He seems to be very friendly. But those horns are really something
In Sweden they have a unique song kind of like a yodel song that they use to call to their cows which they use to call their cows from the mountains. The song is very high pitched which travels miles. So the cows can be miles away but as long as they continue to sing out to the cows inevitable the cows come running off the mountain back to their dairy maid. They of course always given the cows grain and loads of pets every time they come running after they have been calling and singing to them. So if you train them to come to the song no matter where they are on the mountain or how far away they are they will come running home aslong as you continue to sing and they can follow the son back home. Well worth trying to train them to come to a song. If you go on TH-cam and search Jonna Jinton or just search "Swedish cow calling" she and others has videos of this ancient Swedish cow calling up and you can see the cows come running to her from off the swedish mountains. Well worth a try instead of loosing your cow again especially when he is such a lovely friendly cow I am sure he would be easy to train he already loves you and that is half the battle.
