Treasure Hunting With An Underwater Drone! (We found stuff!)

  • I recently purchased a @movesea underwater ROV and took it to a local lake to test it out and see what I could find with my new drone! I have already taken it for one test run out in the ocean to get the hang of it, but this was my first attempt and trying to go searching for underwater treasures with the robot arm. Once I got out into the deeper water I found a pair of sunglasses, and then a bucket that I can use to keep all my find in. This thing is going to be a lot fun and I can already think of a ton of uses for it!

No, I said bought, because I went online and bought it off Amazon at full price just like anyone else would do. This company has no clue who I am or that this video even exists.
Here’s a fun fact for you…. Having a TH-cam channel doesn’t mean companies will just give you anything you want and make you a millionaire. You still have to earn money, pay bills, and buy things you want just like anyone else.

I have an idea for you... it is to epoxie a wrist watch band Compass to the left Grab arm at an angle that you can clearly see it from the camera view point. A little bubble lever for the other arm can be useful as well. The compass, it also can help indicate ferrous metals close to it. As they will when close attract the needle and you can pivot around an object and see it is magnetic. Remember when you are reading it to be aware of your Magnetic North VS your Grid, or Map, North. Here in MICHIGAN we have from 5.3° to 7.9° adjustment to factor in, According to the Internet a few years ago. Not much across a few hundred feet for us, here, but it can be very bad day for someone the further west you go. In fact in Alaska your magnetic North is almost Due East in Ft Richardson.

  • @andrewostrelczuk406
    @andrewostrelczuk406 2 ปีที่แล้ว

If you watch Adventures with Purpose, and some Magnet fishing guys, you might change your mind about looking around the depths of local Bridges and areas that you have no Idea what you may find. Be sure to stay safe and Do Not Attempt to pick up Unexploded munitions. They may have a bigger blast radius than you have Tether... give a call to the local police and advise them in advance that you will contact them if you find something sketchy. Hey you can be a hero with that thing, but you can also become a Zero with local police and L.E.O.s note to have a number for the Military training sites and for their Provost Marshals office. They are generally staffed 24/7/365. And check out your old Phone Books in the Government directory pages to find numbers to contact. And try them out to see that they are still working. And as a result of some kind of things not going well for some magnet fishers out there in the S.E. USA better to contact state police and FBI, leave multiple messages if they do not answer CYA... sometimes local police have interest in things not being found. So if you start your calling off with the highest level and work your way down to the local level then there’s a transparency factor in that your not going to have a crime pinned on you! They never know who you have that may be looking for that mysterious Item. Sorry to be a Boo Man but you know what kind of world we live in. I can also attest to the fact that so many things go un reported and un-investigated from the Military, such as loss of Weapons, Arms, Ammunition, and the Dumbest things go Missing for months and years, to only be found later. In the bottom of someone’s duffel bag, and to turn it in once it has been written off as a loss, re- opens a potentially embarrassing bad day. And some soldiers have done even dumber things to hide from their involvement. Especially when an honest mistake, crushes someone’s military Career path with suspicion of wrongdoing. Or even worse an old over the Hill Senior Officer or Enlisted that wants to get promoted in their last year or two, to have a better retirement plan.
I hope that you out there understand that! And of course there is the Oh shit moments where Amnesty was overlooked as an option and sometimes people hold on to stuff that they know they have no business to hang on to... and they drop it off at a bridge or lake where No one is at the time likely to look.
We all know that story of a WWII vet who was holding on to a Souvenir that was really not a good choice to bring home... and Grand Kids cleaning out the household and they find it...
    I’ll just end it here...

  • @johnme7049

Well THAT was cool! Boat docks would be a great place to look. Also if you can get one of those strong magnets you might be able to use that along with the drone. When I was stationed in Puerto Rico I was working on a dock at the marina and dropped a hammer in the water, about 12 to 15 feet deep. I was going to jump in to look for it but just as I was about to jump I saw about 4 feet of Thresher shark tailfin swim under the dock. Yeah, I noped the heck out of there. When I told my boss he didn't believe me and we walked out on the dock and he happened to swim by again. My boss looked at me grinned and said, screw that. We never did find that hammer. Have fun with the new toy, I know you will.

I learned to scuba dive in Bend when I lived there and a buddy and I use to do a lot of diving in most of the lakes. Yes Bridges and boat docks we have found everything from engines, motorcycles and lots of other stuff along with tons of fishing gear within a 100 foot of the boat docks. If you want to know where the Indian artifacts are under water let me know. That would have to be a private message. Love the content and keep up the good work. I miss living Bend.

Hey Joe, I'm NE Montana and I find a lot of Buffalo Jumps and projectile points ect. just very curious, I don't want to know names or locations, but would just like to know what type of Indian artifacts you find under water? Thanks in advance. If you are ever out in my area I would be glad to show you places to find arrowheads ect. Have a good one, man.

@@joedroneson7389 Thanks for the reply, that is really cool! I love finding anything old, especially when it's relevant to a civilization or people different to our modern culture.

Get some magnet fishing gear for when you go to the bridges and docks. There are many Magnet Fishing TH-cam channels out there and they find tons of kool stuff. Good luck with your new adventures.

That thing is awesome! But that is definitely not a good lake for fishing, only saw one! Hey, if you come down south to Nevada at Lake Mead, the sunglasses you find will have dead bodies attached to them! How cool is that! 😬

Really cool toy. Sorry, I mean tool.
It seems like an compass should be standard equipment on them. But you could mount one on the claw in view of the camera.

Hey Casey the " robot" as you call it was on one of my fav rc TH-cam channels when it came out that claw its got well lets just say he had some input that being said they are an incredible machine, you also did pretty well controlling it if you havent been doing it that long. I need to add you didnt hit the ground that was buried in the silt but you got your prize so hey that's a win. I'm betting there are going to be many many hours spent with that unit enjoy bud 👍🇦🇺

That was so cool. I was hoping you would see a fish. And yes by boat lunches and big docks and pears you should find cool stuff. Hoping you don't find a dead body 🤪
