Hey there, folks! 🎉 Today, I've got some thrilling news to share about my journey through PMHNP school. 📚
So, here's the deal: I just wrapped up my second exam in the Advanced Psychiatric Care 1 class, marking the halfway point in my fourth semester of a seven-semester program. You heard it right; I'm officially halfway through nurse practitioner school! Can you believe it? 🙌
If you've been tagging along since the beginning, you know the road has been anything but smooth. I've tackled the notorious "three P's" - Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, and Advanced Physical Assessment. These courses pushed me to my limits, leading to endless nights of caffeine-fueled studying and a desk littered with textbooks. ☕📚
But here's the thing, I'm still standing, and I'm pumped to share what's next. 🤩
Now, the looming clinical rotations in the next semester have me on my toes. Transitioning from the classroom to the real world, where I'll face actual patients with mental health challenges, is both exciting and nerve-wracking. The thought of diagnosing and treating patients as a provider is humbling, to say the least. 😬
And here's the twist in my story: I got a call from a hospital where I hope to work in the future, offering me a full-time RN position. Tempting, right? But I had to decline because I still have more than a year of school left. However, I'm hopeful that after earning my PMHNP degree and becoming board-certified, I'll land that job. 🏥
To all my PMHNP and NP comrades, this journey has been a rollercoaster. But every hurdle is just a stepping stone towards your success. 🎢
