Did the same job years back on a mk1 Laguna, had the same gunked up stopper type things behind the splash guards. Didn't use the strimmer wire, just poured drain unblocker and left it sit for a bit. Then poured water down later from the sunroof to push it all through. Lovely old safrane, always liked them.
I’d get one of those compressed air cans and block the inlet so only the small tube can go into the drainage tube and force compressed air down the tube so it pushed remaining dirt down the channel. What do you think? Also some vinegar and water to dissolve more dirt and keep it clean longer.
I felt a genuine pang of relief and excitement when all that water gushed out at just before the 8 minute mark!
It says something about the lockdown that this was one of the highlights of the week.

Drain unblocker is a good idea. The stoppers behind the splash guards are going to be the first thing I check when I buy a French car!

Happy to supply the ‘quality’ content.
This is pimple-popping levels of satisfaction. *goes off to check the drainage channels.
Haha - it's very satisfying. Good luck.
Hi can you please help me in locating the drain holes in a scenic II (2006) panoramic roof?
This is the consumer advise you don’t get anywhere else!
I find an old toothbrush does good work of hard to reach crevices.
Yep, plenty of old toothbrushes have been used in the name of keeping an old car on the road.

Good thoughts. Will try that approach on some of the other cars.
Satisfying!
Immensely!
I used an old speedo cable inner. It is stronger thus pushes the blockage through with ease. Not everyone has a a spare speedo cable these days.
That’s a good shout. Thought a net curtain wire would work, too, but we don’t have any of those!
i think the air pressed could be useful too ...nice job
Yeah, you're right. The fleet is going to need doing following the fallen leaves, so will give it a try.
