After reaching 3-2, you said Nissan has better ride comfort. Won't that make it 3-3? Then you both agreed Nissan has more off-road tech. Won't that make it 3-4? Lastly, Nissan is cheaper. So that gives Nissan a total of 5 points over Isuzu's 3 points. I don't understand why you suddenly stopped counting point when it's beginning to pile up for Nissan. Was the result predetermined, and you guys failed to justify the desired "correct" result? Your review is so obviuosly rigged.
but there's a lot of oher considerations they failed to diswcuss, to wit: (1) Which is more gas efficient - Izuzu; (2) more durarable engine - izuzu; (3) maitenance or terra is 6 months, whereas izuzu is 12 months, hence another izuzu advantage; (4) nissan is not to be absorbed/subsidized by mitsubishi motors, corp., and it is doubted if there will be subsequent Terras in the future; (5) replacement parts for izuzu are generally more affordable; and (6) resale value likew3ise goes to izuzu. Hence another 6 points for MUX = 11 points in all
The Braking Test was kinda obvious since the Terra has drum brakes at the rear wheels and disc brakes on the front wheels while the MUX has Disc brakes on all four wheels. Great review still!
Great comparo, thanks for sharing each of your assessments between the 2 car brands, for me, despite the price differance, i would still prefer the Isuzu Mu-X as my daily driver and off roader 🤔👍
Terra seemed to be on the hype by the two young hosts. But by vey long years of experience, and under rough Terrain tests, mauunang bibigay ang Terra! With respect, howwever, to interior comfort, i'm giving it to Terra, though that's not my priority!
I am confused about your hill ascent control test. My understanding is that it has something to do with preventing the vehicle from rolling back when you are stopped and trying to start up in in an inclined road. Please enlighten me. Also the hill descent control test shows how the slow the vehicle rolls in a steep decline without brake assist from the driver. The vehicle which which take the most time in reaching the bottom of the road has the better hill descent control.
My family owned a Terra VL 4x4 and it feels like a night and day difference. Even without power tailgate and adaptive cruise, I'd stick with its interior. I think for the new Nissan Terra's features in the coming years, I'd like for them to add adjustable suspension (soft, medium, and stiff), and adjustable steering (light, medium, and heavy) to give this beast an off road enhancement, a larger body would be a great offer with bigger wheels and higher ground clearance, the infotainment screen would be larger like 14 inches, with wireless apple carplay and wireless android auto, wall sockets, and new Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, and a new powerful engine like 225 horsepower and, 515 nm of torque.
I prefer the Terra: - elite and sporty exterior -modern cabin look -great air conditioning -good suspension -5 yr warranty -360 camera -better ride feel
I still go for Nissan. Its reliability and offroading capability has been a long time heritage as showcased to its Nissan Patrols which is remarkably the choice of Arabs in Middle East along side with the Toyota Land Cruisers. Never seen a single Isuzu SUV except for few Dmax pick-ups.
They have also ever made a particularly good off roader as well, the patrol is ok but is outclassed by vehicles that are a lot cheaper and more reliable
Best in my experience of both car mux is almost 20-30% fuel efficient than nissan in actuwal driving abt parts mux is almost like mitsubishi & toyota compared to that nissan like everest hard to fine..mostly stock sa talyer..
We grew up with open diff 2WD/RWD vehicles, which we used to tame Africa with. Because we could drive. We neither had or needed diff locks. Even with 406 Unimog, we didn't use 4WD unless we really had to.
Yep, got by with 2WD/RWD on my farm bakkie in the Eastern Cape. Cheaper to buy and simpler to maintain. Good offroad tyres and being sensible after heavy rains. Generally worked out fine. Carried a spade in the loadbed and probably walked lines more frequently. Sometimes needed a bit more momentum than in a 4x4 as I had no low range. I wonder if anyone ever made a 2WD/RWD with low range? I thought that I needed low range more than 4x4, just to keep strain off the vehicle from speed runs. Good times.
It can get you out of extreme offroading situations specially when one side of the wheel doesn’t touch the ground. So technically, that alone is a huge reason why the terra is a better offroader.
in pinoy's case most suv cars here arent really for their designated purpose, most are mall crawlers or just weekend getaways, some are too afraid bring their suvs offroading even light offroading. this case mux is the way better offroader even against the newer everest but overall family hauler and daily driver, it falls short against terra or everest and that is not to discredit the mux, i think its purpose is still is the most utalitarian.
Mas pogi slight MU-X talaga. Kaso may mga features si Terra na nakakaenganyong bilhin. Pero bakit wala akong nakikitang bagong Mu-X sa Metro Manila? Stock problems ba?
Both will did well on this basic test for 4WD. Should've tested on a longer uneven uphill (30meters?), one has gear overheating issues. And 1 or 2-wheel slip test?
Watching this makes me think why carmakers insists that we need cars with off roading capability. Maybe they can focus on comfort and safety features or make this cars more affordable without this offloading features. Just saying, peace ✌️
I'd differ from the reviewers appreciating Isuzu's firmer steerings for handeling - I'd choose softer suspension and lighter steering wheel anytime of the day. Nissan Terra 👍
You need to be more scientific with these types of head to head, you need to accuratey measure the test to be able to give a clear and unbiased judgement. You should take notes from carwow's videos when it comes to testing and car battles. If you guys times the acceleration test you would have determined which one has better traction control system as it will have a shorter time to reach a certain speed
That wheel articulation test was a joke! seriously?! these are proper off-road cars, you guys should have looked for a more challenging 4x4 track, to be honest.
Locking Diff may sound like an advantage, however It won’t make up for unskilled drivers and the speed Of the electronics. Isuzu has a perfect diesel engine since 1980'sq...In thailand no one can beat isuzu engine even a toyota diesel engine
Isuzu made Toyota Diesels in Hokkaido, Nippon.

Mux uses hi tencil steels.
I prefer the Terra:
- elite and sporty exterior
-modern cabin look
-great air conditioning

Good suspension actually stops when someone needs to tow or carry heavy baggages. Tried both and they have their own uses.

@@Jawsify1621 it is! More Exquisitely Sculpted. The chairs are perfect.

Nissan and reliability does not go in the same sentence. Maybe on their more higher end models like the patrol, but most of them are junk.
