  • PC Financial JUST released a new 120 CAD ANNUAL FEE Credit Card. Is it really THAT MUCH better than the regular PC World Elite Mastercard? Which I already rated as one of the best no-fee credit cards in Canada? Let's dig into the numbers!
    Use Code JL19138416 to get 25K PC points when you spend 100CAD in your first 2 months of getting your PC Mastercard!

    I'll stick with the no-fee World Elite Card and the PC Insiders Subscription I already pay for. Once you change to PC Express Pass you can't go back to the PC Insiders program. With PC Insiders you get 10% back in Optimum points on all PC brand products. You get free pickup for PC Express anyways. If you factor in the extra points for PC products the upgrade/ exchange isn't worth it.

      I have the the World Elite Card and the PC Insiders Subscription and 100% agree with you. You certainly get back more points with this combination.

    Its only 7cents (70 points per liter) saved when you fill up with 150 liters or more in a calendar month, otherwise its only 50 points per liter.

      Ok damn that is new. Makes this card a little less practical then. Thanks for bringing this up!

      It's "Up to 7 cents" ...So, I assume that's Premium...what do you receive with Regular fuel? Just wondering if it's worth going a few blocks out of my way.

    I’m a new PC member. I just got approved the new PC World Elite. The annual fee is crazy. Any recommendations? I’m thinking of comboing this with Amex Cobalt

    • @lispmanfinance

      Amex Cobalt is 12.99/month which will mean your monthly fee will be 23/month just on credit cards. Cobalt Card is a little redundant if you already have this card. Cobalt gives high rewards on groceries and restaurants. If you already got the Insiders PC, Im assuming you shop at Loblaws which doesn't take Amex. I would suggest just getting Simplii Visa Cash to cover your restaurant cashback :) no need for Amex if you're getting your groceries at Loblaw branded groceries

      @@lispmanfinance thank you for the tip! Is it too late to cancel my card before it arrived in the mail?

    • @EPICWILDETAILING

      The other thing is, is costco doesnt accept amex

    • @lispmanfinance

      Ummm you can probably just ask to downgrade to regular pc world elite mastercard. See the problem with paying an annual fee is that it kinda forces you to keep using it or else it kinda defeats the purpose of paying an annual fee. If you don't shop at loblaws grocery stores a lot or even get gas at esso/mobil, I wouldnt get the insiders version

    • @lispmanfinance

      Which is why I use the regular PC world Elite and not the insiders version for Costco

    PC Express is so underwhelming. We've had to make so many trips to customer service for exchanges or things missing from our order. Time = Money.

    • @lispmanfinance

      Damn nice to know! I mean most people would rather just shop themselves. Getting someone else do to it, you can't choose the freshness of the produce, the expiry date of dairies...seems like a risk many aren't willing to take

    • @TheDingobat

      Every time we've done pc express and had mistakes (which has only happened twice in 2 years), we've gotten a 20 dollar off voucher for our next order and got to keep the mistaken item. The pc express number is way better to deal with than going back to the store.

    I have the no annual fee world elite credi card. I noticed i am getting points at esso but none at grocery stores. Is this because I am not using their specials? I got the impression that you get points regardless of the specials or how much you spend, in other words base points?

  • @EightOneFive

    Is this basically just like the World Elite + the $100 PC Insiders Subscription for $120? I've currently got both but trying to find the merit in switching to this for $20 more?

    • @lispmanfinance

      The insiders version gives a little bit better rewards at Loblaw Grocery Stores/shoppers and esso gas stations than just the World Elite version. Personally, I'm not willing to pay an extra 120 for that. I don't use PC express subscription anyways nor will I ever use it. But if you do and shop at Loblaws a lot, its definitely worth the upgrade

      @@lispmanfinance thanks! We use it mostly for the grocery pickup and can say it's definitely helped us massively. I can't seem to find anything about points from Joe Fresh on the new card either (we use for kids clothes and although not a huge amount), it looks like it's not offered on the new card and I guess just labeled under "everything else" now?

    • @lispmanfinance

      My understanding is that Joe Fresh is under groceries. It's basically the same rewards as shopping at Superstore. Whether or not they changed that, I need to find out.
