Everything about flight attendant life seems to be stress-inducing....Even when you don't get called, you might be waiting all day. That would put me on edge.
I think you and Eric have the best set-up for your needs and what a blessing to have a stable place to live. 🙏 I live in a small town and really enjoy the local shops and community vibe, plus I am only 15 minutes away from the nearest bigger city. I hope you, Eric, and Miss Luna have a wonderful holiday weekend!!❤
Another great video Julia! You live where you want, drive when you want and tell the haters to move along. I think it is a great experience to live with family as an adult. It gives you more appreciation for those times. Keep the corners up and the attitude on the plus side! I hope y'all have an amazing holiday weekend!!!
Your video was great. Interested the daily nuts and bolts work. Glad there is someone else who has a rationale how they pick a bed in a hotel. My algorithm is huge BUT in general. When I uses to go to San Diego I would take the bed next to the window and open it depending on weather as liked to see either harbor or airport (landing pattern. Otherwise would pick bed where I could see the clock since I would wake up frequently especially for a morning flight. Keep it up. Luna looks great.
Do you ever use a map program like Waze or Google Maps to give you real-time traffic updates on your drives to the airport? They'd give you a heads-up, if you needed to leave home extra early.
Great content, it was different. Thank you for sharing your work , day by day and in a very special way your private life. Luna is adorable 🥰. Have a safe flight, take care and God bless!
Commuting is something a lot of us do or have done in order to live where you love. Once a week is no big deal. You are such a sweet person. Love the vids.
Hi there Julia!🙋♀️ Ohh yes, I know the commuting in to work! My hubby and I found a house with a couple acres outside of Dallas a few years ago…thankfully before the prices went through the roof! The commute in to Dallas is a little over an hour. My husband still commutes in, but I decided it was time for me to retire! It’s been great and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Fly safe!🙋♀️🩷
It is good that you work to live and have a work life balance, this is exactly the way Europeans live their lives. You can definitely be productive and efficient with a block of work and then live when you are home.
People who think you're taking risks need to check out flight attendants who actually have to commute while on reserve! At least you don't need a hotel room or a crash pad.
@@delftblue8801- It is not a “choice” for everyone as you never know what life will bring your way. Your base could close, family situations, etc. If you need your job you do what you need to do to keep it.
I just worked with a flight attendant who told me that the Philadelphia library has a lot of great online resources and that you don't have to live in the area to get a library card from there! (:
Yep, I have to agree with you living far from the airport. Back in the 1980s I knew some flight attendants that were LAX based but they lived in the city where I live. They enjoyed it here. Gawd, I want to 🤗 Luna. May you and your family have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
After y'all had moved there and you'd mentioned that one hour commute I thought that was kind of a bummer, but it seems like you've adapted to it well. And like you said it's not a permanent arrangement.
I live in Massachusetts, it's very common for people to live an hour away from Boston to work, whether in the airline industry or other industries. The city is much more expensive. Although a short commute is always nice to each their own.
An hour's drive from the airport is perfectly fine with me. It's not like it's every day, and I'd rather live somewhere I like than be somewhere I don't want to be. An ex-girlfriend of mine worked for German Lufthansa, and we also lived 2 hours away from the airport. Yes, on the days she had to go to the airport, she had a long day, but she also said she didn't want to live in Frankfurt; she preferred living in Cologne.
I sleep away from air conditioner unless hotel vents it in from above then near window, be safe, put chair at door, had a couple incidents where a key opened door, deadbolt isn't enough. Be safe
Salad looks good! I have been on a salad kick for dinner lately. There is nothing wrong with living an hour from work. And it's nice to be able stay with Eric's parents what ever the reasons are. It's a good support system for both them and you guys
I've heard a lot of those instances lately where both planes are delayed.. I personally had it happen to a flight I benefitted from by riding standby (was still earlier than my actual scheduled flight). Standard stuff at AA lol For bed, it depends the side table setup. Where the outlets are :D, secondary option is closer to window
Thank you for creating wonderful contents. I have so much respect for what you do ❤ I’m very excited that you got a library card! I work at a library and love making library cards lol. Enjoy your library 📚
Smart move on the parking and keeping your phone away to not stress out anymore than you were. Glad to see you made it. Was it a holiday weekend? Miss Luna makes my day. I love to sleep next to window because it is cooler next to window.
Great vlog as always, Julia. Thank you so much for the laugh of you two trying to get Luna to do the hands in challenge. That was really funny. Sorry you had so many issues with your planes. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend
BWAAAH, we tried the hands-in challenge too and our dog totally failed. 😂 I have the book, Ask for Andrea, sitting on my bookshelf. I can't wait to read it. Believe it or not, I just started the TOG series. I am on Book 1 Chapter 2 and I am hooked.
Happy memorial weekend Julia and hope you have a fun relaxing one you deserve it. 💙🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸💙💙💙❤️❤️❤️💙💙❤️❤️💙💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️💙💙❤️❤️💙💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💙💙❤️❤️🇺🇸💙❤️❤️💙💙🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸💙💙❤️❤️🇺🇸💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸
It doesn't count as a "hand in challenge" but last week I was at the hospital for tests and got a visit with the hospital's Therapy Dog, a golden Labradooddle named Cricket. She was so sweet and put out her paw to shake several times. I thought of Miss Luna. I felt so good after my visit and can really appreciate how these dogs can do wonders for people who are worried, stressed out or in pain and discomfort. 🐕
I agree about living where you love and like you said you don’t drive into work every day. I’m surprised as much as you love to read you didn’t already have a library card. I use the Libby app (used to be overdrive?) and I love it ! Just now listening to you I checked for the book you were reading. Great resource to have a your fingertips, especially for people who travel a lot.
Julia, have you been to Peddlers Village yet? I think you would love it and it's very dog friendly. We take our dog there frequently and see many beautiful dogs. Just wondering.
All the things you always pack - toiletries, clothes, shoes, would it be feasible to just have duplicates, so they stay packed and ready to go? Just a thought to consider. Of course you’d have to unpack the clothes after you use them, but could immediately just repack.
Hi Julia, another great video today, Luna looks like a happy dog. I'm going to have to find that audio book and listen to it, it sounds like it's really good
My sister is a pilot based in PHL and she spent two years in the city and LOVED it. Now that’s she’s getting married next year she and her fiancé decided to move to Phoenixville that’s a ways from the airport too but she’s a lineholder so it’s not a huge deal. It’s a cute little town kind of like where you live with little local shops and of course the BOOKSTORE ! City living is overrated! ❤
Hi Julia. I think you and Eric have a really good set up, which works very well for you and of course Miss Luna. I hope the rest of your reserve goes well.
Are you watching the traffic apps well before your regular departure time for your drive to the airport? Did the traffic problems crop after you left the house?
Do you use waze or google maps to help route you around bad traffic areas? Even If you know how to get to your destination, one can't predict traffic chaos when you are on route.
Great vlog as always, Julia! Bummer you got stuck in traffic, but that could often times be out of our control. What matters is that you made it to the airport and that you were able to use a grace period! Also, I love to see Wawa being represented! 😀👍🏻
Ohhhhhhh you were so close!! (IND). I hope the rest of your reserve month is uneventful and June holds less stressful commutes for you. Unfortunately traffic is one thing you can’t control, and especially if you’re stuck and have no alternative route. Here’s to no more stressful commutes 🥂❤
Hi Julia! When you're on reserve being at the mercy of crew scheduling seems to be like playing Russian roulette. Is it more beneficial to bid on open trips versus waiting for crew scheduling to call?
I would have loved to have a set up like you and Eric a nice space to live in and my parents just above me it’s perfect. You are very lucky. You get family time it’s lovely
Hi Julia. Nothing you can do when it comes to delays in traffic. If you are late for work then you are late for work. You can't phone when driving so nothing you can do. I once thought I was going to be late for work it. I was panicking thinking I am going to be late having to go on a diversion and that alternative I ended up on a course and paying for a speeding ticket. If your late for work through no fault of your own then they should find you an alternative flight to work on 💓
Hi Julia, after the Singapore flight that damaged the passengers unbelievable and did so the aircraft took a battling. And the arab flight yesterday was nearly the same. Stay safe when you are flying 🙏 ❤️. With all the coal powered power station, cars and diesel 4wd and trucks I do think it is going to get worse. Lots of hugs Ray from Australia XOXO
Julia, I think you look fine wearing glasses. I would leave 2 hours before departure time. I live 15 miles from ORD but must take crazy traffic and parking into account.
I understand living with Eric's family. I don't think you have to defend it. You have personal reasons that are private. I always enjoy your upbeat and positive attitude but also understand that we all have not so good days. I enjoy your u tube channel.

I think it’s great that you keep it real. So many you tubers go heavy on the “entertaining “ element that it’s not relatable or interesting anymore.
I wonder if CS knew when you called that your initial flight was on a Maintenance. I would always check DECS to see what the status was of the a/c
