Great Channel! My sister worked for Southwest for many years and I never got insight into the daily life of the Flight Attendants. I assume the Hotel stays on these layovers are provided by the airline?
Julia, there is nothing wrong with Showing how much you spend. It’s your money and you are allowed to do what you want. Beautiful Lady, if it makes you happy and you’re not hurting yourself, don’t worry. If someone gets grouchy about it, that’s Their problem, Not yours. Keep enjoying your trips.
As a typical guy, I usually to spend my money on gadgets and tools. So, It’s nice that you help the local economy on your trips and use your platform to showcase them.
It's a great habit. I'm always conscious about my spending. I adjust my daily habits to line up with my travels. Before departure, I cut back my dailies to have enough buffer in case of a disaster.
New subscriber here! Your videos are terrific. You are very down to earth and a joy to watch. Love your travel on layovers. Especially explaining the history of the sites you are seeing. I’ve told a lot of people about you this past week. Hopefully you will get more subscribers. 😊
You are such a breath of fresh air. You are so thoughtful & in tune with others. You should spend what you think you need to, without worrying about others. You are working your a** off,. So disciplined & thinking of others. What a gem you are. I sincerely wish that you receive every wish. Every dream. For you. Eric, I truly hope you are as worthy of her as she sees. Love & family is what matters most. Love you Luna❤❤. ...&, thanks so very much for sharing your authenticity. It is so so refreshing!!❤❤
IDEA: If you get sponsored again by Rocket Money, you can do a budget series. It would be fun to see you be the most economical (money hacks) for flight attendants. There are some baked-in expenses + wiggle room (eg packing your own lunch and dinner). Also, I would be interested in you curating what other money hacks FAs do.
I came on to your videos about week and a half ago cannot stop watching them15 hr a day I don't travel a lot now do to medical reasons but i was in Portland Oregon five years ago for a reunion did the water falls hike you did love it.Keep up the great work stay safe
Recently stumbled across your channel. Been binge watching over the past few days. Love how honest and down to earth you are. Book reviews are also great. Purchased today the locked door by Frieda McFadden.
Please don't worry about the amount you spend - everyone spends more when away from home (and their own kitchen). You also have the added issue of travelling across states and borders and need to eat well in order to do your job ❤ Travelling so far is exhausting , across so many countries/states. I find it really helpful to see what it costs in various places so please carry on doing these. And you have to pick up a memory of each place, we did that with fridge magnets and they give a great visual of where you have been 😊 Enjoyed this so much, thank you x
This is a great video and I would love to see more of this type of content.😊 I didn't think the prices were horrible considering the economy right now. I learned my lesson about the scarcity of restrooms in Europe. I visited Spain when it was 90 degrees, walking around, drinking water by the gallons, and couldn't find a restroom 🚺 when I needed it!🫤 Have a great week Julia❤
I was at Multnomah Falls in late April when I took a river cruise (with my two sisters ) on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Such beautiful country!!! I really enjoy your channel and love hearing about your trips as well as what things cost.
Julia, your a very generous soul as well with being selective and managing your spending smartly! Keep enjoying life and inspiring others.....Happy 4th to you, Eric and Luna and all your families! Sending love across the miles!
I like seeing what it costs in other cities and countries. It is daunting to find a toilet in Europe. I’m so glad you shared. The waterfall tour was a definite favorite for me! ❤😊
HI Julia, I finally got around to watching this. It's interesting that on some trips you will spend more, and others you spend less. However, very interesting to see what you spend.
I like seeing approximate cost of things on your travels and you seem budget minded so yes, keep sharing. Don't necessarily have to share down to the penny but general range would be good.
Hi Julia nothing wrong with you buying gifts for yourself/boy on travel around the place to remember your trip. In my case i usually buy tshirt or some small souvenir of the place i visited. I wouldn't mine seeing more where you compare 3 day European to another city/ 3 day American City and if possible a 3 day sun destination place.
This was fun watching for those of us who are viewing vicariously through you. I don’t begrudge you for anything you spend, You earned it and that is part of being able to travel through your job. I also realize, that a majority of your domestic trips you may spend little to no money. I will say, I do find it extremely fun watching grocery store trips/hauls both international and domestic. Thank you for sharing.
I love this type of video. As a fellow traveler, I like to know the costs of things in various places. Like you, I also collect magnets. Besides those, I also like to get a few postcards from the locations I visit. I like your idea of getting T-shirts, but I just have way too many clothes, so I don’t get them. On a side note, when you’re visiting locations in Europe, you should definitely take advantage of using the restroom for free in any café or place where you eat lunch or dinner. That way you don’t have to spend a euro or two to go potty.
I enjoyed this video very much but don’t compare yourself to others because you are the best. Here’s wishing you, Eric, and Luna a happy and safe Fourth of July
Hi Julia. We all have to balance income versus expenditure and many factors are worthy of consideration. Firstly, we have to eat and drink to stay alive. Outside of that we need to consider the value of what we spend our hard earned money on. Your trip to the falls would have been a breathtaking and memorable experience...costly, but great value. World economies depend on the principle that we earn money and we spend money. That keeps everybody working, earning, spending. Make your choices, enjoy life while you can. Good video, keep them coming. Cheers from Australia.
I have been flying for 32 years… girl do the fun stuff you want and the stuff that doesn’t matter take a pass but don’t feel bad- it’s why we have this job! I pack food but I also enjoy nice meals, all about balance. I had years I only spent $ on tips because I wanted to pay off my mortgage ASAP 😂 Love your channel!
Happy 4th!! And I love your authencity and honesty when making such videos, as personal finances is a topic that isn't really spoken much by people. Thanks, and happy 4th once again to you, Eric, and Luna! 🎉 love from Kansas!
Over the years of enjoying your channel I have noticed that you don't seem to be extravagant in your spending on layovers. You tend to "pack your own food" which obviously saves you a lot of money. I understand that you don't like comparing yourself with others but from watching other flight attendant vlogs and seeing how some of them never bring their own food but eat out for every meal you are doing quite well, my friend 👍🏻🤣. I do like that you are a thoughtful and generous person as you often buy nice little gifts for the special people in your life. ❤ Take care, Julia and have a wonderful 4th of July! 🎆🇺🇲
I think the best bargain of all was that banana and granola! Loved the tee shirts. I once had a layover in Amsterdam from my flight in Egypt. Unfortunately there were delays and I had to run to the connecting gate, missing the opportunity to explore. I remember seeing lots of stores with tulips! 🌷🌷
It was definitely interesting to see what you spend on a layover. I am a real tight person when on trips, the less spent the better. I'm slowly coming around to spending more. It's nice to see how others splurge on occasion.
Could you do a video for first time flyers for things to do and not to do. I'm sure you have seen or experienced some very rude and/or crazy things. I'm going to be flying for the first time soon and I'm nervous. Thanks! Love your channel. ❤
Hey Julia great video. I didn't know how much you LOVED pasta. One thing I haven't heard you talk about is the actual hotel rooms for your layovers. How does it work? I assume the airline pays for the room but is it like a peridium you get and you book the room? Is it just a hotel in each city that has a contract with the airline for a block of rooms? Do you have to share the room with another female member of the flight crew? Enquiring minds want to know. Thanks!
Your videos are great and so entertaining. Back in the 60's when I was in high school I wanted to become a then call "stewardess." Never made that but later purchased my own plane and learned to fly. That didn't last long as the expenses were high even in the early 80's. What I am wonder about and maybe missed in your video is if the airline gives you a per diem for meals and tips. That would only seem fair especially when you are held over and can't catch your flight back.
Next time you are in The Netherlands, go to The Hague and check out the coffee shop (a coffee shop, no drugs) called The Bookstor cafe. Amazing coffee and a lovely Patio.
Great video as usual. When I was routinely traveling in Europe I always tried to have lots of Euro coins when I landed. Like you said you have to pay for rest rooms and also a lot of coffee. An interesting note when I was going to Rotterdam a lot I actually had a restaurant prefer that pay with credit or debit cars. Wow! so different from when I first traveled to Europe in the 1980's. Keep up the great work.
Wow! Coffee in the US is bloody Expensive. Here in Sydney A Large coffee ( Flat white, Latte, Cappucino ) in Large 375ml cup is usually $5-$6 AU .. $3.36US to $4.03 US and we think it’s expensive here.
This was a good video and can definitely see you doing more of them. It would be interesting to see the costs for east coast, west coast, and the south. I really expected the international to cost even more than it did.
How far up Multnomah falls did you make it? The very top is a slog, but amazing. Like a scene from the Racoons if anyone remembers that. Was certain a thing in the UK in the early 90s.
Hi Julia, have you been to the Oregon coastline? Highly recommend it. Beaches are incredible. Rocky coastline, sea stacks, lighthouses, etc.. I went on a photography workshop there and came back with some great pictures. Sunsets are amazing. Lot of quaint seaside towns with restaurants, art galleries, souvenir shops, etc.
So much different than East coast sandy beaches. Any flights out of or into Cleveland and/or Madrid or Barcelona late August through early September? I"m flying AA from Cleveland to Philadelphia on the 24th of August on to Madrid returning September 8th from Barcelona to Philadelphia and then home to Cleveland? If so, maybe I'll see you.😀
On public transit, I’ve found that it’s cheaper just to pay as you go. For public transit in the Netherlands you can tap a Visa card or use Apple Pay which makes it even easier no need to wait in line to buy another ticket. Also if you eat out in other countries the tipping culture is vastly different
What i have to say...I love your video Giulia... great content and very interesting...Grazie per il video see you till next time a cuddle to Miss LUNA !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹
Very interesting. Since you’re away from home and the airline is covering the hotels I would have thought they would give you a per-diem meal allowance.
You should have zero guilt when you do splurge because you always pack yourself healthy meals and snacks.I’m glad you got to spend a bit and enjoy. You deserve it.God bless.Happy 4th.😊
I don't use rocket money but I do set myself a budget each month. When I want to be very strict I will do a running price list when I grocery shopping. When I'm doing that in sams my niece is rolling her eyes at me but gets it. There is nothing wrong spending some money. You don't always do so
I definitely enjoyed this video of your expenditures; so helpful to know what I would be spending on various trips. Looking forward to other of these very informative videos of yours. Thanks Julia!
Perfect timing. I was wondering how flight attendants make money at the job, then have to spend money as a tourist on the layovers. Is any of this “business expenses” that get IRS deductions?
Even if the company did give a meal allowance, it's still money she spent. I used to work as a motorcoach operator and on multi day trips my company would pay me a meal allowance each day of the trip. Most of the time I didn't have to spend that money as breakfast was almost always included with the hotel room and the group I was driving on the trip would include me for dinner. So I usually only had to pay for lunch. That meal allowance money certainly added up over the course of a year.
They do, as do most companies that require their employees to travel for business. It's called per diem, and factored in as part of their overall compensation package. It shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.
Thanks for being transparent, Julia. However, you owe no one a reason why you spend your money. You earn it you deserve it. I know when I've traveled abroad, if it weren't for baggage fees and rules about what can be on board, I would have bought so much more lol Thanks for all you do. XO Happy 4th of July to you, Eric, and Princess Luna 🎀 ❤️🇺🇸💙 🎀
❤First of all, I/we enjoy your videos. Flying is something we both love. We are both pilots, but not of the commercial kind. One thing I do as far as spending is what my late brother would always say. When he would go on vacation he would say don’t buy future garage sale merchandise. If you keep this in mind I think you will be fine. Another but, harder thing to do is set a % of your after tax income you will make on the flight that you are willing to spend and DON’T go over it. And please pay the driver $1.50.❤😂❤

your videos reflect authenticity, not curated artificiality.. Viewing them is like spending time with family. Thank you.
This is SUCH a kind comment. Thank you!
@@JettingJuliaYou are courageous. That was a great video. Honest and clear. Best wishes from Newfoundland, Canada.

Never feel guilty in treating yourself you work hard
Would be interesting to see more average trips or trips where you tried to spend the least.
Oh my gosh, that pink outfit and makeup looks great on you! with your hair up! So pretty
As a typical guy, I usually to spend my money on gadgets and tools. So, It’s nice that you help the local economy on your trips and use your platform to showcase them.
I like this kind of video. Very well thought out and put together.
It's a great habit. I'm always conscious about my spending. I adjust my daily habits to line up with my travels. Before departure, I cut back my dailies to have enough buffer in case of a disaster.
Me as well, last year I went to Switzerland and spend roughly 3,000 a little over. This is due to the fact I did a lot of grocery shopping.
I just found your channel and I love it!!!!!! I love your personality and make your videos fun!!!!

Love this style of video. It was very relatable. You are so sincere. I appreciate you sharing what you spent.
I always get shot glass as souvenirs and i dont even drink 😂😂 but now that you mention the magnets I will start to buy those from now on
Damn, I need to learn your budgeting skills!!!

Do you get any stipend from the airlines when you are on a layover?
I’d be interested in the whole picture, meaning how much did you spend vs. the per diem you receive on a layover.
Still, very interesting video. 👍🏽
You are my favorite TH-camr
Thanks for sharing your experiences I love it!!! ❤
I love this kind of content 🎉❤ I’d also love to see how much you spend in countries where the cost of living is lower than that of the US 😊
I like seeing what it costs in other cities and countries. It is daunting to find a toilet in Europe. I’m so glad you shared. The waterfall tour was a definite favorite for me! ❤😊
If you happen to do another PDX layover you might want to try the Gorge Express. When combined with Tri-Met MAX it's a pretty affordable alternative.
Good methodology, I freaked out when you started talking about a trip to Zürich, legit one of the most expensive cities in the world!
It really was!! lol I loved it though!
HI Julia, I finally got around to watching this. It's interesting that on some trips you will spend more, and others you spend less. However, very interesting to see what you spend.
I enjoy this content of what you are spending per trip
I would like to wish Eric a happy birthday. My birthday is also July 5th and I'm sure enjoys the fireworks everyone shoots off the night before. 12:51
Happy early birthday to you!! 🥳

I am from Waco, so always love to see you wearing your Magnolia Silos T-shirt!!
I'd love to see more of what you spend on your layovers!
Love the Charlston shirts!!!!
❤Another great video, Julia; much love to you, Eric and Miss Luna!
It was definitely interesting to see what you spend on a layover. I am a real tight person when on trips, the less spent the better.
I'm slowly coming around to spending more. It's nice to see how others splurge on occasion.
Loved this video Miss Julia. That pink top, with the white piping looks extremely beautiful on you!! It is definitely in your “color(s)”!

Wow this is very interesting.
FYI. Jennis ice cream can be found in grocery stores too.
No need to apologize for spending $$ or for how much you spend. Life is to enjoy. Travel while you can...and have fun!!
Oh yes if in Europe always have some cash. As toilets are not Free Lovely video. Really like your Amsterdam T shirt 🥰 Have a good weekend 🥰

Yes do more of These videos. I really enjoyed this and very helpful. Im a new subscribed to your channel. 👍
This was fun. I'd love to see more like this,
Love this video! More tracking $$$ on your travels pls. 🎉❤

Love to see more as I do it myself to see what I spent. I find I spend more on excursions or food depending on the location.
What i have to say...I love your video Giulia... great content and very interesting...Grazie per il video see you till next time a cuddle to Miss LUNA !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹
Thank you for sharing. Us as flight attendants spend a good amount of money during our trips. This is an eye opener. Safe travels ❤
Thank you for watching, safe travels to you too! ❤️
Very interesting. Since you’re away from home and the airline is covering the hotels I would have thought they would give you a per-diem meal allowance.
They do! I just forgot to mention it in my video. We receive about $2.20 for every hour away from base added onto our paycheck
Really great idea for a video
Thanks for this video Julia. I really enjoyed it. It was a great idea to see what 3 layover trips would cost you.

Perfect timing. I was wondering how flight attendants make money at the job, then have to spend money as a tourist on the layovers. Is any of this “business expenses” that get IRS deductions?
It certainly adds up with each trip. ❤ When you put your figures into Australian 🇦🇺 dollars Omg!
Hi Julia, great video today, and Managing money can be difficult sometimes to know where money is going,
Julia doesn’t your company also give flight crews a meal allowance that’s added to your salary?✈️
Great video! I wish I kept track of all the money I spend on a trip 😬Have a great 4th! 🎆🎆

I like that Oregon magnet

One thing I do as far as spending is what my late brother would always say. When he would go on vacation he would say don’t buy future garage sale merchandise. If you keep this in mind I think you will be fine. Another but, harder thing to do is set a % of your after tax income you will make on the flight that you are willing to spend and DON’T go over it. And please pay the driver $1.50.❤😂❤
