You have hooded eyes, are intelligent, eloquent, honest and really helpful - totally subscribed! Didn't think I'd subscribe to any beauty "guru" ever again and then i found you. A breath of fresh wind. Thanks for what you do, Stephanie! :)
Thank you for this! Women like me need more tutorials like this because 5/7 days a week, im throwing on a pretty natural work face and the goal is a healthy face ... The other two days im too tired to bother. The dramatic looks are fun to watch but man- the 15 minute ones are NECESSITY!
Hi Nicole- I know this is an older video but I just love it! You have everything down pat, it really shows in DETAIL how to get a great work look. You look radiant and beautiful. You always list everything below anyone could need to find the products you use. You are the gold standard as far as I am concerned in a GOOD video, that goes for all your videos and everything you cover be it reviews or tutorials etc. I feel like you "mentor" me/us, and the motivation you have is to give back. And thank God as I surely need all the lessons I can get! I may be 59 but it's NEVER too late to learn, and to learn to do better! Thanks again, Yvonne
I'd have to agree with all the positive feedback. Your channel is really great with all of your real honest opinions on products and tools, researched information on the companies and distributers and knowledge on ingredients. Other MUA on youtube have different styles of making their tutorials (some with drama and humor and others with a little more substance...and not saying that other don't lack it but they're just easily comparable). I like them both and I'm glad there's a variety so I can get well rounded view of the makeup world.
I like your focus on "work appropriate" makeup. I use a pretty basic look for work and just change up the lip color & nail polish. I tend to use a lot of sprays in my routine (both makeup & general skincare). My favorites include the Avene Thermal Spring Water, Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray, Caudalie Grape Water, Timeless HA Spray w/Matrixyl 3000 + Cucumber Extract and MD Formulations Antioxidant Spray. I'll take my moisture as often as I can get it! ☺ Thanks for another great video!
CkJohnsonPhD Thank you! I think ladies can really hurt their professional goals if they over due it in a work environment. Its nice to think we can do whatever we want if we are smart or hard working, but thats not reality. That Thermal Water sounds interesting! I will have to try some of those! Thanks for the info!
Your channel is my absolute favorite. You approach beauty products the same way I do so I love how much info you provide! You're one of the only guru's out there that I actually trust. I love that you research and share... It's honestly refreshing.
I feel that all of your tutorials are very helpful. I just recently subscribed to your channel, probably 2 weeks ago, and I have to say that I appreciate the time and effort you put into every video! I will continue to watch you. Thank you!
Stephanie I honestly love your channel to pieces. I trust your opinions so much... I'm so glad to be subscribed to you and watch your videos. Love your honesty... I think people lack honesty SO much nowadays.. never stop making videos pls. Lots of love xo
I'm so glad I can ask you questions about makeup! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to your subscribers. I was wondering if illuminating primers or illuminators can really be seen through foundation and concealer? Thanks!
+B4everKind :) I do not tend to like to wear full coverage foundations, so I do feel I can see the sheen in my skin when I wear an illuminator under my foundation. Full coverage, it will blank it all out so is pointless, in my opinion. Sheer to medium coverage you will be able to see :)
I've never seen someone use EIGHT primers haha i was LOLing.. but i totally get it. My skin gets really dry in some spots and I have to go HAM so my makeup won't break. Question tho, do you ever wear any of your liquid lipsticks to work? I have so many lipsticks that I would love to wear but I feel hesitant to use even more of the mauvey, neutral ones because it's a corporate environment.
I just started watching your videos, and I'm totally obsessed. I love your honesty! I have recently gotten myself into the whole makeup world, and I can't stop. Now, because I am in no way a makeup artist, I have never done this before. But sometimes I think I need someone to tell me what looks best for my face, because makeup needs to fit YOUR face, not everyone else's. That being said, you have some wonderful cheek bones. When I watch TH-cam stars explain how to contour, they always explain it the way you do. Straight from the top of the ear, to the corner of your mouth. However, your cheek bones are much higher! Have you ever tried to bring it out higher? More towards your Cupid's bow? Or even curved? Again, not a makeup artist, nor am I trying to criticize your talents, just putting in some input that might work out well for you! Xoxo
Really enjoy watching your videos. I always had a hard time figuring out what kind of makeup for my pale skin and honestly. I've been doing better on how I apply it :) You're such an inspiration. Thank you !
Great video, Stephanie! Thank you for showing a work-appropriate look. I find that too many women have no clue regarding this and wear way too much makeup to work. The also wear the wrong clothes, as though they were going to a party. I love your channel and am subscribed.
I'm just so inspired by you Stephanie. Ive been doing makeup for about 7 years now and have decided to take it to the next step by going into makeup marketing and more skin care products. Idk if you have any suggestions of a school or online courses that will educate me and boost my career. I need some serious suggestions before making a mistake!!!! Thanks your awesome.
I'm so glad I found your channel! You put so much research into your review, so many facts. I appreciate your hard work and that you just just to pretend to love everything for attention! I adore you!
I am in love with your videos!!!! do you have a tip on placing your blush, I tend to not be able to put it in the correct spot with all the contouring and highlight going on....do you blend your blush near your contour? or on top of the contour and under the highlight? Thank you so much!!!!
LOVE this video! Thank you for doing a natural work look. It’s so hard to achieve a polished look sometimes and this was so informative. Thank you- love your channel. Do you ever come to the east coast? Would love to get a personalized tutorial!! (Would pay for that- like look at what makeup I have, create a look and then make decisions about what needs to be bought to create a better look as sometimes it can be overwhelming to know what to buy as a non MUA and also sometimes it’s easy to continue buying the same shades or same stuff). Just a thought!! Please come to New York!
Love this video! I've been trying a modified version of your routine for almost a week now and my skin looks great! How do you keep the color from the tightline from transferring to your waterline? The moment I blink it transfers to my waterline.
That look is so amazing I'm going to try it right now! You look beautiful, professional and your skin looks flawless. My fav. product is the Chanel lip gloss. 👄
Hi Stephanie, would love to see an updated version of your work make-up routine including skin prep. I'm guessing your routine has changed? thanks so much for this video
Firstly, I absolutely love your vids & I'm so pleased to have found them :) Secondly.....I LOVE THAT YOU HAVE MAKEUP SPREADSHEETS!! That just appeals to me on so many levels- pleeeeease do a video showing how/why?when you do them- I am in serious need of some organised way of keeping records of my makeup- would totally love your advice!
Thank you Stephanie for your tutorials they are so informative!!! You mentioned permanent cosmetics for eyebrows saving you time. What do you think about eyelash extensions?
Elizabeth N I used to get the 3 cluster individual & wore them for years, then I did the individual hair, silk & Mink. They were beautiful....but they are only worth the investment if all you wear on your eyes is liner on the bottom, because cleansing your eyes nightly will cause horrible wear on them. I can do a video with my before & after pictures if you would like :)
Hi, enjoyed this thanks. Amazing how much you can get done in 15 min. Have you tried the Cover FX highlighter in Moonlight? I love it as much as my Laura Mercier highlighter in 01. Really elegant natural look. Cheers.
I love how this is a really natural look even if there is more moisturizer then I need and nonfalse lashes for me. But this is a really simple natural look and I love it.
How do you tight line with black and then put nude in the waterline without the black getting on your waterline? Every time I've ever tried to do that they kind of mix and it looks horrible. Please help!
Hi! I recently found you and still unsure about some things. I changed my routine based on your recommendations and my skin feels great. Did you do your entire am routine before applying all these products? I hope my question makes sense. Thanks so much for your videos!! You’re amazing!
I have never seen anyone apply so many skin prep products on their face before foundation o.O I have oily skin, and if I try to do anything more than a light moisturizer + a primer, my foundation will literally slide off my face.
Livia Kingan The B6 spray is just vitamins that help reduce redness & calm the skin, the Grape Water is just moisture I like to get down to seal in with an actual moisturizer, then some have electrolytes, some are serums, and the thicker ones I just put on the areas where I peel. I don't know what it is about this mix, but when I use it, along with my nightly skincare, I will not peel. I'd rather spend buttloads on the prep steps for my skin to look good than just piling makeup on top that will starting to peel after a little bit. haha its so funny, I guess the only one I think of as a primer is the Tarte one because its smoothing lol, the rest are like 3 mists & 4 lotions hahaha. Over kill for most, I know :)
Awesome, thanks for the replies! I actually have most of the stuff you used so I'll def give it a try. I peel most days....have you tried the tatcha cleansing oil and rice enzyme powder though? only reason is that my skin is happier than ever so give it a try if you havent yet (not sponsored or anything i just work at sephora so i get to try all kinds of stuff). Thanks again girl, I really love your videos!
Livia Kingan That Tatcha oil is the bomb! I've used a ton of different oil and balm cleansers and I couldn't love the Tatcha one any more. I'm repurchasing tomorrow which is a first for me; I usually try something new each time. The original powder was too rough on me but I'm looking forward to trying their new gentler one.
Hi Stephanie! I would like to say that you are amazing!!!!!! Also I love the way you take care of your skin! You should do a Room Tour and Makeup Tour!!!! Thanks love!
Where did you purchase your vanity set and how much was it if you don't mind me asking? I am going to try doing make-up Tutorials! I have everything I need except for my Ring light and my vanity. I have been watching your videos for a couple weeks and I am so Thankful that I found you because you know exactly what your doing and you also know alot about the products you use and you know how to apply make-up very well! Thank you for all the tips and tricks! You have helped me more than you know! 😆 GOD Bless and I hope you have a Wonderfully Blessed day! 😊💋💄
I to have dry under eyes I want to get the smashbox hydrating under eye primer but wasn't sure about it I see you used it so just wondering your thoughts!
Just found your channel! Love how informative you are!! Thank you for posting all the info links, especially on all the makeup storage, but where did you get your vanity table!! And would love to know about the brow lightener you talk about :)
Finally- beautiful but Work appropriate 👍🏻 also, I am the exact same color as you. Hair and skin. I love it that I found your channel because your makeup looks great and your very informative and I absolutely love the looks you do.
Hey Gurl, just found you!! You’re so chill and real!! Subscribing straight away, and THANK YOU for teaching me about Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer!! Ordering it right MEOW.
I was scrolling through your OLDER VIDEOS & found this ONE...I love your WORK look! I see promotions in your future because you keep it classy but also trendy. The Lashes were the cherry on top...I'm going to save this tutorial because I have the same issues with dry patchy skin and need to hydrate without breakouts. Oh and I would love to see an EYEBROW "SALLY Hansen" tint...tee hee...I know you can't shout out the compettitors!
I am falling for you, haha. Your cool exterior had me confused at first, but I am always drawn to more introverted people because I have such a bubbly personality. You're a deep, awesome woman.
I need to get that Tarte "spackle" for my daughter, she has a terrible time trying to fill in or cover her piercing scars. I also need help with concealer, it doesn't matter what concealer I use or whether I use a brush or my fingers or a beauty blender to blend it it, concealer always creases on me and you can see all the fine lines under my eyes. If you could give me some suggestions on how to fix this I would be eternally grateful!
+Jacki Mello I have tried baking and unfortunately it makes it worse. Recently I've been using my beauty blender to apply powder over my concealer and that seems to be working much better. Thank you for your help :)
Hi! First found your channel because of that whole too faced palette scandal and I gotta admit, I found you a bit too pessimistic sounding and like you forgot to drink coffee or something BUT I got really interested because you do know what you're talking about and I learned a lot even on that one video. So, I scrolled on your videos and found a tutorial of a palette I have and boy I'm now hook. Your videos are so long compared to most beauty channels but I realise now that it's because you really take the time to explain things and that is admirable. I also enjoy the honesty and I now have to take back that you skipped coffee. You are funny in a way that isn't trying too hard. Thank you so much and keep up the good work. I am now a subscriber. xoxo
Kept feeling something was off watching this video until i realized this is the first time i've ever seen your sleeves covered up!! Lol thank you for saving me from buying all the useless products beauty gurus try to shove down my throat! Muah 💋
Im unable to do my makeup in 15 minuts, doesnt matter how bad i''m trying, it takes me half an hour minimum and than i mostly don't even have time for eyeshadow.
Ally Eve it takes me 20 minutes to do my foundation, 10 for eyebrows/contour, 5 for wing liner. Idk why my foundation is the longest step when usually it's everyone's shortest. 😂
Ally Eve I caaaaan do it in 15 min if I have to (I have 2 toddlers so sometimes that's what I get), but 30 minutes is better. I always have a better day when I have my time!
what foundation would u suggest that is not matte but not dewy either? I'm trying to find a good inbetween. I get dry skin but certain foundations make it look oily throughout the day.
great videos. you do have great skin naturally.....that's awesome. are you ever concerned about the ingredients of all the makeup products you use? my skin clogs up with traditional makeup products and i was wondering how you de-tox your skin to keep it flawless in between the makeup applications, thanks!
Tracey Woolford Thanks Tracey! I know its a lot of steps for most people, but my skin has gotten so soft from my nightly skincare & my face prep in the morning. I am sure I could cut a few of these out, but the combo is working for me. Since I have been using these my nose & chin aren't flaky & peeling. Thats the worst midday to look scaly! The B6 spray is just vitamins that help reduce redness & calm the skin, the Grape Water is just moisture I like to get down to seal in with an actual moisturizer, then some have electrolytes, some are serums, and the thicker ones I just put on the areas where I peel. I don't know what it is about this mix, but when I use it, along with my nightly skincare, I will not peel. Hi honey! I really started watching your videos since the 'Hirons effect' kicked in and have only seen you really taking care of your skin. but i've heard you call yourself the Queen of Primers. Now i really see what you mean by that 😂. No shade though. I love skincare but I do have a limited budget and I have a problematic skin so sometimes I use 2 serums, moisturizer, sunscreen and 2 primes 😅. Could you recommend the best product/ primer for mattifying without drying out my drypatches. I love the dewy look but with my oil production it gets... a little too much but i can't be drying out my skin cus i get some dryness from the Differin... thanks
Honestly, I kinda disliked how rigid and severe your personality came across as at first... But the more I watch the more I appreciate who you are as a person and the more I want to watch.
I too tight line and sometimes it does get in my water line. In that case I take a q-tip and rub off the eyeliner on the water line. quick and easy fix.
Gee this is an old video so I'm not sure if you'll see this but do you have any tips on using an eyelash curler? I'm terrified of them 'cause I'm worried I'll rip my eyelashes out!! I adore your videos and I've been watching all of your liquid lipstick reviews!!
Riliey Connor I use a Revlon eyelash curler and it never pulls my lashes out. It's the one with the red handles. However, I tried e.l.f.'s eyelash curler and it pinched my eyelids, so I wouldn't recommend that one. So yeah, I do recommend Revlon's red-handled curler. Sorry for not remembering the name. You can find it at Ulta and probably any U.S. drugstore. ☺
Hello!~ Two questions and 1 comment: First, what the hell is "la masque a-hollow" (totally forgive my spelling....) or whatever you said when you were putting on your John Doe contour? Secondly, what would be a good OCC cool contour for skin that's just a touch darker than you? AND THE COMMENT.... I find URBAN DECAY'S "TEASE" EYESHADOW makes a good contour for me. Give it a go!!
I tried to tightline with Lancôme black whilst using Urban Decay "walk of shame" in the lower waterline and they mixed and went all patchy and gross looking so I had to go over the peach colour with the black :( how do you stop them from mixing? X
Use waterproof eyeliners, like Urban Decay 24/7 on both lids. After applying the eyeliner, keep the lid away from your eye for a few seconds to give it time to dry.

"I keep spreadsheets on my makeup" might just be the most amazing thing I've ever heard.
I was seriously laughing so hard when she said that. She is SO organized!
LOL! I just thought she was a kindred spirit. I keep spreadsheets of my eye shadows. Otherwise I keep getting duplicates. :)
You had me at "I keep a spreadsheet of my makeup." 🙌🏻 Great, informative content. Loving your channel!
Have you ever heard of the Cindy Crawford Skin care line? If so, what are your thoughts about it?
Soooo many brushes. Do you have a brush for every type of product? And how often do you clean them? Great videos.

You got it! I will work on that!
Thank you for this video. I just subscribed. Do you do anything to your lower lashes for work?
I will definitely need to pick up that OCC for contouring! I am always on the hunt for a cool tone contour!

Zenny same here
Quixotic try body shop's tea tree mattifying lotion, it does wonders ;)
I have oily skin too and I put moisturizer on after every shower or before makeup. My skin has improved and pores gotten smaller.
she says she has intensely dry skin, so i guess thts why lol
where have you been all my TH-cam/makeup life??!!♡

ha ha, well you def got me thinking about primers! i'm super dry too and iv'e never layered primers but i'll give it a try :)

ty yes I agree glam make up is to much for the office, love the clean slate I have large pores oily skin
And would love to know about the brow lightener you talk about :)
the vanity is most likely from IKEA. it's 2 of the Alex drawers, I think they have a desk style as well
Finally- beautiful but Work appropriate 👍🏻 also, I am the exact same color as you.
I really like your tutorials, very informative and interesting!!! Wish you all the best in TH-cam future!
Elena Gant Thank you so much, Elena!
You're a deep, awesome woman.
you have one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen 😃
Awesome tips! Very detailed throughout, LOVE
I have the same problem! It sucks :(
+Susan Rodriguez have you tried baking? Where you put a loose powder over it then wipe it off, look it up there are some helpful videos about it.
I am now a subscriber. xoxo
what do you do when you wanna do yoir am skincare but wont be applying makeup til the afternoon/evening.
what kind of coverage do you get from the spray foundation?
great video and perfect day look..
❤️
Kept feeling something was off watching this video until i realized this is the first time i've ever seen your sleeves covered up!! Lol thank you for saving me from buying all the useless products beauty gurus try to shove down my throat! Muah 💋
Im unable to do my makeup in 15 minuts, doesnt matter how bad i''m trying, it takes me half an hour minimum and than i mostly don't even have time for eyeshadow.
same here....If I do not use liquid eyeliner 30 min...if I go full glam about 1 hour
Ally Eve it takes me 20 minutes to do my foundation, 10 for eyebrows/contour, 5 for wing liner. Idk why my foundation is the longest step when usually it's everyone's shortest. 😂
Ally Eve yeah, the mascara takes so long to get it the way I want it
Ally Eve I caaaaan do it in 15 min if I have to (I have 2 toddlers so sometimes that's what I get), but 30 minutes is better. I always have a better day when I have my time!
Ally Eve I have to do a lot of steps since i have super problematic skin😓
Definitely subscribing love your channel! I really admire how much time and effort you put in your videos!
She makes a great instructional teacher.
u are great.. love your personality .. i love your videos.. do you have any on birchbox ipsy ect.. wondering whats ur fav if any
what foundation would u suggest that is not matte but not dewy either? I'm trying to find a good inbetween. I get dry skin but certain foundations make it look oily throughout the day.
I find MAC face&body to be fantastic :)
great videos. you do have great skin naturally.....that's awesome. are you ever concerned about the ingredients of all the makeup products you use? my skin clogs up with traditional makeup products and i was wondering how you de-tox your skin to keep it flawless in between the makeup applications, thanks!
She has a whole video on her skin care! She's very very into skin care! She has a couple videos explaining a lot of what she uses
thanks
I so get all the prep before the make up, I have super dry skin and if the prep not right the make up does not stay or look good. love your chanel.
I'd rather spend buttloads on the prep steps for my skin to look good than just piling makeup on top that will starting to peel after a little bit. haha its so funny, I guess the only one I think of as a primer is the Tarte one because its smoothing lol, the rest are like 3 mists & 4 lotions hahaha Thanks for watching!
Very pretty look and great tips 😍☺️
sara o Thank you Sara!
Thank you love the look easy well maby ! To do as a easy makeup for a beginner also 👏👏👏👏👏
I know this is an old video but I love how you look, I have been looking other videos and its good to have a tutorial for everyday make up
I would still love to watch a video on lightening your eyebrows!
I love the dewy look but with my oil production it gets... a little too much but i can't be drying out my skin cus i get some dryness from the Differin... thanks
Another amazing video, spreadsheets for your makeup....OMG...your the bomb..!!! Luv&hugs from Ireland.....xPx
You don't need makeup at all but I love this look! 😍
Your are seriously my teacher
Honestly, I kinda disliked how rigid and severe your personality came across as at first... But the more I watch the more I appreciate who you are as a person and the more I want to watch.
"I keep spreadsheets of my makeup" haha, love it.
How do you keep your tight line and water line from mixing? Mine always ends up being a muddy grey :/
Illamasqua? It's a brand of makeup.
+silkenpaw hi there it's a brand.
You look so much like Sabrina Nellie to me! It's definitely the face shape, you are both so beautiful!
Hi, Stephanie, I'd love it if you updated this!
If you can, will you make a video touching on silicones in skincare/makeup? Thanks!
the contouring looks a /little/ like, just dark lines drawn from the mouth to the ears diagonally.
I think its more blended or like meshed better in person without harsh lights.
Also what shade in the Nars concealer was that?
Custard 😊
I love your videos!
Hi, do you mind adding a list of the products you use in your "work makeup application in 15 minutes ". I would like to purchase thank you so much!!
+Luisa Keen they are listed in the description box. Just click on the arrow if on your phone next to the video title. Or show more below on the desktop ❤️
Beautiful look
Chris Thanks Chris!
