I dont have a wood saw...--but it matters not. I still have plenty of fallen trees around me..a lot with rotted middles. This has inspired me to do a more natural approach rather than spend money on metal feeders that don't look half as pretty as the real wood. Kudos to you for such a simple and sweet idea. Thanks!!
Thank you very much, Ness customs Wood Work. Absolutely lovely to watch a craftsman at work. A weekend project I think. Thanks for sharing. Best of luck.
Looking for DIY Bird feeder ideas! ~ and I have to say, I really like your creative idea!... I follow up video would be great,to see the birds enjoying your creativeness as well!!!....so a-natural looking.... beautifully done!....thanks for sharing!
Pretty neat! Now I gotta figure out how to block this video from coming up when my wife searches youtube...she loves homemade woodsy-type bird feeders and watching the birds. So if she sees this I know she'll be wanting me to make like 10 of these!
Now I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my ban saw. But a great idea for when I get one again. Thanks for sharing, and yes holes at the bottom for water to get out.
Very well done Please remember to keep your fingers away from saws. Fingers don't grow back For those who do not have a band saw use a pvc pipe and cover it with wood like wall paper and cap it bottom and top Most bird house holes are 1 1/2 inches Use saw dust inside for the bottom lining But please use safety
The unit will be more weather proof and last longer if you core the inside out first and then cut the ends off the core and refit them into the ends of the shell. :)
Great job Ness. Unless you clean out the wood feeder with diluted bleach once a month during the warm seasons the birds will get sick from contagious diseases and molded bird food.. Use an old tooth brush as a scrub. Drill some drain holes for air and water. The birds thank you.
Beautiful Powermatic band saw. How thick of stock can you cut on it?? Nice video and a real cute little feeder. I'm making one out of cedar and the other out of Himalayan birch.
That’s cool 😎 but I have fifty love birds 🐦 , so I took this old book 📖 shelf, 4 ‘+ 4’ , made little boxes with holes , looks like a little hotel 🏨 for birds!!
Perhaps 1 or 2 holes for drainage and a mesh for the seeds would be useful ( if is not placed under a roof ) otherwise EXCELLENT work , so simple , inexpensive and natural , like , like , like. :)
beautiful! i made a birdhouse with a naturally hollowed (rotted heartwood) log. just added a bottom and top after using a hole saw to make the opening...

Cool bird feeder.
Hi you could maybe drill some holes in the base and cover with a fine mesh for drainage what do you think ? Reply
Nice work very cool

The unit will be more weather proof and last longer if you core the inside out first and then cut the ends off the core and refit them into the ends of the shell. :)

When it gets moldy throw it in the fireplace and build a new one.
Wonderful how nice it is.
Cool little project , thanks

I'm thinking not to glue the perch to the pegs cause it will fall off but to drill a holes (two) and push the perch onto the pegs. Cool bird house !
