If this were hung in a wooded section about 15 feet up, owls and woodpeckers might be drawn to it. Woodpeckers like to have it filled with shavings. It gives them something to clean out to make it their own. Also, I could easily see a squirrel taking up residence it because the hole size.
Great job on the house. My one suggestion is it requires a clean out door. This clean out needs to be easy to access. And clean it up. Birds pooping in there attract bugs and flys. Spray inside with a cleaner / begugger. I use orange oil. I plan to make one. But I also plan to carve a Wood spirit face on it... Thanks for sharing. Very nice work.
I doubt birds poop in their own nest. And if the chicks make a mess the parents clean it out. They don’t have someone cleaning out their nests in the wild.
Yes you break it my all the safety precautions. Your eyes are precious you only get two please protect them. But I like it ! Nice job. I hope I can pull it off. With smaller tools not a chain saw.

I'll be making one like this soon, but for a surveillance camera in disguise. I'll be wearing steel toes, chaps, safety glasses just so I dont loose a few pounds of flesh in the process. I might as use hinge instead of glueing it together. I'll make the roof water proof to keep it dry inside. Yours Looks great.

John Presto Thats an interesting question. What you could try is adding some oil to the fuel of the chainsaw, to simulate the smoke and see if that helps..

There are a few suggestions for constructing an aviary: Allow plenty time. Use done for you boat plans. (I learned about these and more from Aviary magic method site )
