Great music, graphics, voice acting, difficult bullet pattern... such an intense game!
Note: The 1st plane in the ending somehow reminds me of the experimental warplane Shinden. ( probably because it is conceptualize on that plane )
Because the game take place in an alternate Taisho Period.
The Type-3 Yaezakura looks resemblance to United States' WW2 plane, P-38 Lightning or P-61 Black Widow.

You've got that right! This game is so much fun, especially with all those crazy ass combos! My highest combo is 1628-it's my first time playing this game, and I want to score much higher combo numbers in the near future.
This is basically Progear 2, love it.

For me is the better Cave game with Deathsmile and Mushi Futari ! Akai Katana is so fun and so good to play ! This video is amazing.

For me, Deathsmiles is the best shmup series of all time hands down.
anyone see similarities? WW2 themed, Zeros and their variants are fast,hard to hit,pack a ton of firepower,but as soon as it does get hit,it goes up in flames like the Hindenburg

I love the game since its 360 release and i never managed to do the same energy suddent refill as the very first in stage 1of this video. 0:28
I assume the player power shots and destroys the plane close when it shoots red lasers, but doing so, i only get a tiny amount of energy.
I dont really need that much for next forging phase but i'd really like to know how this suddent refill really happened.

That True Last Boss's first attack reminds me a lot of the helicopter game lol. By the way, is it just because this guy is so skilled at collecting the pick-ups that he can use that knife attack almost all the time? it looks like a lot of the game is being trivialized because he's clearing almost every huge concentration of bullets without having to dodge -- I guess I'm used to having to dodge nearly everything in games like Touhou and Mushihimesama Futari. Is it as overpowered as it looks?

So what's the mechanic behind the scoring here? It's very different from vanilla arcade.
@xEchoAlertx Takes a lot of practice especially with the unorthodox ship he's using. You have to make sure you get close to enemies to net steel and katanas faster. That means you need to know the upcoming bullet patterns like you know how to breathe.
I may be mistaken here, but are the blood katanas only to be shot forward toward the enemy? I completely do not follow the player's strategy here. Why is the player changing to the phantom so early in the cycle?

Also, one of the few TLBs in CAVE games that can be bomb-spammed to death.
Probably because that boss doesn't have an anti-bomb shield like all other Cave true last bosses.
9:52, great dodging, when you go over an enemy, it looks like you don't take damage.
I just broke my highest combo in this game today. Now my highest combo hit count is 2248, my second highest combo is 2114 hits, and my third highest combo is 1916 hits. I wonder, how do you score higher combos in this fun masterpiece of a game right here?😁

Fail at 6:55. He could have just fired those katanas and gotten shitload of points, but decided to be greedy which led him to getting hit by a bullet.
This looks more than just bullet hell!
Its like a cross between Progear and Sengoku Ace Episode 2
I am good at pretty much every type of game, but these ones are just beyond me, i don't get how people are so good at it 0.o lol

I will say it's a game that will totally stomp you if you play it like a normal shmup and don't take the time into learning how to score and use your specials effectively.
How come no one ever plays as Type-A?

When Yakuza goes to Xbox, Akai Katana and Otomedius G Excellent will hit Playstation. There is pretty much no reason to keep third party games like Yakuza exclusive.

hmmm on my Xbox, the game is totally different... no suicide bullet packs, the font for the score is different... WHY ??? i want the same !

Great looking game even if the voices are abysmal and the boss designs are stupid and boring. I can't wait for this to hit Vita.

looks better than deathsmiles. is it? Love the options ala gradius 5. The whole bullet canceling / sucking in medals cave-spiel has outlived its usefulness. Guwange, Progear and Ketsui were all a blast. After that I believe its just there to distract us from the fact that the gameplay fundamentals are essentially those of dodonpachi. shame really.
+Bradley Hoevel Deathsmiles is the best Cave game man. Maybe a bit noob-friendly but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Obviously just my subjective opinion. The powered up thing in Deathsmiles collecting all the gold skulls for the entire stage is so much fun. Then insta-recharge and start collecting the gold skulls again!
+Iso Tonik I was top of the PAL Deathsmiles board with Windia for like 1 year.. then some asshole came along and totally blew my score away. I'm still pissed off coz I'm never gonna be able to beat his score. No hope in hell. What a bastard.
