I'm thinking of doing something similar, although I'm more into lure fishing in sea, fly fishing and pike fishing. I live in Southern Norway and must have caught over 1000 fish last year. It's next level here compared to UK, and once you get away from the populated areas and associated East European and Asian immigrant fishmongers who ruin your day and encroach on your personal space it's perfection This year has been too cold so far though.
Top vid Wayne . Would like to say mackers did no damage on my groups trip . Herring was king . Could fish both side to side and the difference was overwhelming . Worth a bash
When I used to ice fish up in Sweden the ice used to build up in the rod eyes it was a real pain. You used to be able to watch the water start to refreeze but it is certainly very scenic winter or summer in Scandinavia.
You deserve a medal for those conditions Wayne. I too have been up there in the military , 2hrs daylight at Bardufoss , you are bring back good memories , enjoy and look forward to the next video
WH Productions at its finest. fair play to you all for sticking it out all day brutal weather for you all. cant wait for the next one. stay safe my friend
Damn Wayne, it looked so cold there, I had to put a thick hoodie on just to watch. Not the sort of weather to answer a call of nature in. Fair play to you all, some nice cod and a cracking crab. I would have taken that back to cook. It's still pouring with rain here on the Pacific Northwest coast of Southern Oregon, just under 25" for the month so far. Oceans crazy, rivers are raging torrents, rock slides on every road. The forecast is for these atmospheric rivers to continue into February. Plenty of time to get the boat ready and gear all clean and sparkling once again. Looking forward to the rest of your Norway trip.
Fair play for the effort fabulous scenery etc,Wayne!Tough conditions as you’d expect up near the artic circle. On the bright side Wayne at least there was no pesky dogfish robbing those lovely baits ! 👍🎣
Absolutely stunning drone shots Wayne. This could be an amazing trip for you guys. A 15 ft up and over rig seems huge to me! But I guess it comes down to 5 foot when set up. “ Ifyou go in there you’re dead- it’s not a good look” had me giggling like mad! Lovely cod for Phil. I remember when you used to be able to catch cod of that stamp off Whitby many years ago on a regular basis. I remember my first ever trip. I was only 13 and the guys I was fishing with said as it’s your first time you’ve got to do it properly, so gave me an old Scarborough reel. My first drop down, I David to my dad ‘I think I’ve hooked the wreck!’ He took the rod from me, gave it a couple of pumps and said ‘you’ve got a fish on there!’ Then passed me the rod back. What seemed like an eternity later I landed not one, but two 15lb cod. That memory will live with me forever. At least you got amongst the fish once nightfall fell. Norway really is stunning. Wishing you nothing but the best of luck for the rest of the trip buddy!
Nice start Wayne, found your channel 2023 Norway Halibut trip. Great to see you back over there, those conditions sound brutal...fair play to you all. Best of luck
Hi Wayne and gang makes chesil look almost tropical glad to see your already in to the fish. The place looks absolutely amazing the dogs b#ll#cks as the say hope you and the gangs luck continues I bet your glad of that heated jacket😊 stay safe & tight lines can't wait for next video
What a wonderful place to fish. Told you that you would catch cod I like the red ones they catch in the kelp. Looking forward to lots more videos and fish. Take care and tight lines mate 😊
Good to see you back over there Wayne. Well done for trying so hard in those conditions to keep us entertained. I recommend you have a serious look at Saltstraumen for a future trip. Flight to Bodo then 25 min drive to Saltstraumen. Great marks, some within a couple of hundred yards. BIG fish! and great accommodation. Tight lines! Enjoy the rest of your trip
Yes mate, it's lovely up there, where we go it's cheap and cheerful. We can go 3 times for the price of the better places. That's why we stay down south ish.
@@KevinKempOvenmagicSearch for Saltstraumen Brygge, put on your details.....when, how long for,how many people etc and it will give you a price. Flights depend on where you fly from. We take2 flights from Manchester but you can do Bodo direct from London. Plenty if TH-cam videos on Saltstraumen
Wow the scenery is something else Wayne great to see you back there the cold is bone chilling take care buddy hope to see some monsters from the deep . 😊
Wow, looks a great venue Wayne.. a couple of nice cod , well done for sticking it out in those temperatures. 👏🏻. I’ve not fished in those low temperatures, although I have worked in Sweden so I know how cold it can get in that region of the world. Looking forward to the next video .
Love seeing the lightnings, Typhoons and Eagles narking about getting their hours in when on the coast. Carry Binos to work for it. When fishing aswell, is a glorious bonus ❤ great Vid bro!!!!
Jeeez that felt cold here😂 surprised you can still still chat in that temperature BUT !!! I’m glad you still could, great vid and looking forward to the rest of em.
Eazy wayne you ok pal, nice vid again in crazy conditions. My cousin was there n he told me he had knitted testicle warmers on hahahaha. All the best from GRIMSBY
That was epic. What an effort in such adverse conditions. Hats off to you all. Would it be possible to fish an adjustable zig rig setup? Just like the carp boys? It would need some tweaking - just to keep the heavy bait and lead together on the cast. But if it could be figured out - it might give you some great options. Including adding movement to the bait. Been catching up on all your videos. And there seems to be a theme of fish in the area eating herring etc. but not your dead fish baits. And you managing your catch on shads. So maybe combine the both. A dead fish bait that moves. And fish different depths. Thinking out out loud. Don’t shoot me. 🐳💪🐶 Best of luck for the rest of the trip. 🤞
So that’s what it would be like to fish in chest freezer temps! Shit if want heated boots ,gloves, jacket, salopets, socks and a heated hat 🤣 great vid mate can’t wait for the rest 🎣🎣🎣
Sitting in my car having my lunch , 2 in the morning.... -2 freezing my arse off watching your film ... I feel your pain , ok maybe you've got it slightly colder in Norway lol ...
Thanks mate, another entertaining watch, as usual. A bit off topic here but do you know if anyone has tried to use a drone to carry the bait and lead out to say 200 yards and drop it? I reckon it would be easy if the drone was man enough and the device for dropping it was built onto the drone? Just a thought? Enjoy Norway mate and don't worry about the Ruskies 😂 Ps, if you design this device, I want a percentage 🤞🏻
Great video mate would love to shore fish Norway how you do it but wouldn’t know we’re to start maybe a video of travelling tips and we’re you stay ? Also how much it cost for these trips would be very helpful
Nice video, but those are some harsh conditions and Norwegian shore fishing is nowhere near as productive as their boat fishing, something I didn't know was the Halibut ban until April, hopefully the weather will improve and so does the fishing
