I think that learning will not go to waste, thank you very much Billy.
Hi, the fishing rod in the video is rated to cast from 150 grams to 300 grams. Not 30 to 100 grams. Unfortunately I am having trouble understanding what you are writing about. But your enthusiasm is much appreciated, thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Hello Billy. I am writing using Google Translate, perhaps Google is transmitting the information incorrectly or distorting it. Sorry, Billy, maybe I worded my question wrong. I wanted to write this way :) I watched three videos and of the three, one of them was: "Quick catch up and talk about some products and equipment available in Japan", You presented (one model of rod and reel) Abu Garcia for 30-100gr link 2-4 max 50lb salry style bait and Shimano link pe 2-4 reel. My question is: how heavy baits do you use and do you fish with this rod in the same way as you fish for zander in the lake, e.g. by dragging the bait along the bottom? Are you fishing with this bait in the water? Is it from precipitation? What techniques do you use most often? thank you brother.
Yes I understand, most of the time in Norway the fish are between mid-water and the bottom. If I am fishing these two areas I will use lead jigs, slow jigs and fast jigs. If I am fishing close to the bottom I will mostly use soft plastics, swimming them slowly along the bottom sometimes contacting it. The deeper the water the heavier the jig. The bigger the fish the bigger the lure!
Amazing Billy we could only wish we had fish like that here still .Apparently we used to get really big cod off our local pier years ago , now your lucky to get one any size .
Hi Earl, it's sad the way the fishing has gone, most places. But I have seen some old vids of great cod fishing from around the UK. Good times. Thanks Brother 😁👌
What’s better than fishing in the arctic on jagged rocks talking to yourself? Maybe eating cod cheeks and crispy cod skin🤤.. well done brother 😎.. stay warm!
Billy, I'm curious. I've enjoyed watching the videos of your travels from Norway, around Europe and back to Norway again. How can you afford to do it, or did you win the Lottery?
Hi Billy, Im in Oregon. What is your source for the rods? I did notice the short butt distance to the reel which is my style. I'm not keen on the long butt. Currently I'm using a slosh 30 and a 12' downrigger rod with a short butt and am limited to 6 oz total on the line.
Hi Steven. I have seen the beautiful coast of Oregon, on the television of course! I would love to visit some day. The rods are from the UK, the reel position has been adopted from South African big game fishing. It allows you to fight the fish while on your knees to lower your center of gravity, so you can pull oversize fish from the shore. Tight lines Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Thanks for the info. Where would you recommend staying? My plan is to stay for a week. Also what would be the best airport to fly into from uk and then the best way to get to Bodo once in the country? Thanks
@@Billyfishing_watch Thank you very much for the quick response! I have never done surf fishing (but did a lot of carp fishing at rivers). Saw some people use spinning reels in other videos (warm water). Now i learned something.
Hi bud, unfortunately I am four hours to the North. And there's a long way to drive for cod, that I can catch where I am. Maybe next year, thank you for the invitation. See you on the beach Brother 👍😊
Hi Billy, am I bleeding the fish wrong. I cut between the lower part of the gill's. You cut the tail which doesn't seem to bleed as much as the gill cut. Which is the best way. Wild salmon I cut the gills out completely.
Hi. I, just don't bleed the fish! I Ikijime it! So it's different. If you cut the tail it needs to be done immediately, otherwise it doesn't work too well! If you're not going to complete the procedure I do, then the gills are just fine! I will link the video for the process I use. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Hi Bo, that's a tough one. Sometimes the weather makes me move, sometimes the tide makes me move, and of course if there's no fish I move. Also if it's a small area and I've caught a few fish, then I move as well. It also depends on the target fish. For instance, if it is pollock. And I have caught two or three in one area, then I will move because most likely there's no more around. I hope this helps, thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch i have experienced that if i dont catch fish withing the first 5 casts i mostly dont catch fish at all in that spot. Still i keep fishing the same spot for hours sometimes. Would you use the same method for all fish that dont school? Or just Pollock.
Hi. Before you go fishing, check the time of the tide. Then check the tide cycle, the good tides are spring tides and middle tides. Bad tides are generally neep tights, unless you're fishing places with faster moving water than normal. be aware when you arrive at a spot that you have arrived at a bad time and waste 45 or more , and waste time. Trying to catch fish that aren't active. If you have not caught a fish in the first 45 minutes or an hour, and you know the tide is good and running. Move! , maybe return later in the day to the same spot. And see what happens. Experience is the name of the game 👍
@@Billyfishing_watch thats kind of what i’ve been dooing, but i must admit that i often stick around for longer than 45 min. I was wondering how you find your spots for haddock? Do you look for sand and mud bottom, or is there more to it?

@@Billyfishing_watch And now it's beautiful
we finally understood each other :) thank you Billy.
Yes billy shame about the dropped fish but what a lovely cod
Hi bud. Yeah, what a shame. But, like you say. Got me a good'n in the end. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Enjoyable as ever and I’m taking note of the way you present big baits under the circle hook. Great stuff Billy
Hi bud. Glad you liked it, yeh that it's a great way to bait up! Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌

Billy, I'm curious. I've enjoyed watching the videos of your travels from Norway, around Europe and back to Norway again. How can you afford to do it, or did you win the Lottery?
Hi David, Respectfully. Talking about my private life on social media, Makes me uncomfortable. Hope you understand, Thanks Brother 👍
Nice video billy, i have one question why you cut off fins? Thx for this great content 👍🏾
Hi. On the bait, or on the cod?
On the bait
@Fishing_h_ they just get in the way, and stop the elastic sticking to the bait. And maybe even make it twist in the tide, maybe
Ahhhhh okey thank you👍🏾
Hi Billy, Im in Oregon.
Cracking fish 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻 boom
Thanks Brother, much appreciated. Boom 💥
Great video. Where abouts in Norway do you fish?
Thanks bud , glad you liked it. Up near Bodø👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch Thanks for the info. Where would you recommend staying? My plan is to stay for a week. Also what would be the best airport to fly into from uk and then the best way to get to Bodo once in the country? Thanks
😁👌👍👍👍
Thanks again brother 👌
Why do you use multi reel and not spinning reel? Thanks for the video!
Hi bud. Because they cast further, and the drag is better on them. Thanks Brother 😁👌
They are not normal multipliers, they are specifically built for surfcasting. Magnetic brakes, allow you to tune the cast. And maximize distance 👍
@@Billyfishing_watch Thank you very much for the quick response! I have never done surf fishing (but did a lot of carp fishing at rivers). Saw some people use spinning reels in other videos (warm water). Now i learned something.
Can you try fishing in a city called mosjøen

@nobodyimportant9127 thanks Brother 👍😁
What brand reel are you using
Reels are the Penn mag 525👌
Cool Torsk😁 How long do you stay in the same spot before switching spots when lure fishing?
Just fish around the mouths of rivers and not streams. 👍
Billy I wood love to go fishing with you just to hear your talk all day
Save that thought Richard. most people who fish with me, keep telling me to shut up 🤣👌 Thanks Brother 👍😁
