Amazing haul especially for the money! Get those bottom ends straight into a container of red diesel before they're completely corroded beyond use! It'll free things up as well. Remove any coils obviously. Such a shame it's all been left to rot only good for spares now!😢😢 The black airfilter cover is off a Stihl 4mix, the alloy airfilter holder is there also. And the small carb is 4mix
@@walkerscountrylifeI might be interested in buying a 262 PTO side case half or bottom end I you've got a good 1. I'm rebuilding a 254 atm and a piece has broken off the case, such a shame as there's barely a mark on the original paint! Was thinking the 266 must be a 66 which was an open port. They were made there but not sure anything else was.
@@bumpkinrocks send me an email dude, I'd be happy to send you a set of cases for the price of postage and a small donation to the 500i fund. Very happy to help out a subscriber.
That is not bad for £100 think of all the fun you will have cleaning them. I take it the Walbro carb kits are available so you might get your 262 running soon.
Wow what a score for 100 quid! Told you was on a roll with luck👍 I agree soak in diesel for long time. You will more than double your money selling flywheels. I use baking powder to "shot blast" all ally parts, cylinder, flywheel, they come out looking new and is kind to the ally. Got a question for you mate, enamel paint to match 3 series, any ideas? I know there was a colour change somewhere between the late 2 series and early 3 series think it's a slightly redder tone but can't track down any kind of paint code. Did you manage to get a look at your 55 top cover?
Oo I like the baking powder trick! Sorry no idea on the paint code. I know that even that might not be a match as mixing to a code isn't as exact as you'd think. If you take a sample in to a car paints place they will have a scanner to get the exact colour.
Holy crap, that's some find! People on forums say the 254, 257, 262 intake blocks are NLA but I had no trouble at L&S earlier in the year. HDA-101-1 is another big 262 carb, I'd never heard of it til the 262 I finally found had one, it rips. My best running 254 has a HDA-120, also seems like a really good carb. It's the 35-B which seems a bit underwhelming if I'm remembering correctly.
I got a lot of info wrong in this video I think. My running 262xp I've since found is the desirable kS piston/ cylinder and hda 87 carb. All the carbs are the hda 120. I mentioned hda199 which I think you can make work with bits from the 120. Bet a 254 with that 120 runs well!

Ah thanks, the red diesel is a good shout. Unfortunately no coils on any of them. Ah superb spot on the 4 mix stuff!! I thought trimmer.

Awesome score, loved this episode. Didn't have a chance to say hi yesterday during Buckin's live feed. Please keep doing this stuff. I appreciate it
Ah cool, no worries I wasn't on for long, Habe a virtual high 5 now! Glad you enjoy it!! 👍 thanks for taking the time to comment.
Gonnna need a bigger ultrasonic for that lot😂 still though you can do some crazy experiments with them
Haha yep.
Quite a project. Too bad about all the water and rust. Save the parts, you will need them someday.
Yes, some useable parts though, will do a followup on what I salvaged!

Yep you can get the carb kits 👍 should be able to make a couple of runners and have a pile of spares with all that.
Looks like gold to me

Ive been looking for parts to convert a 257 to a 262. Carb intake block seems to be impossible to find. Top covers are also hard to come by.
