Tittle of video says " How Rihanna's $4B business is Changing the cosmetic industry" but barely shows anything about her and how her business grew. Kinda of a clickbait.

What really surprises me is that no one saw the untapped market earlier. I mean, from a business point of view, it makes all the sense in the world to try to sell products to as wide an audience as possible.

@@infringedblue well beauty industry is pretty much brainwashing. Woman shave their legs because of the Gillette campaign that enticed woman to shave to "be different".
But if the traditional companies thought its certain profit they would do it, it was just a big risk for them to take. They had to create new products have a new advertising campaigns. Why take a risk when youre making billions on what works.

Goodness! I always held Bloomberg Quicktake in high regard until now!
    Is this a paid advertisement???
In this entire feature there is no mention of LVMH!!!
    Are you kidding!!!
    1. LVMH the world's largest luxury & cosmetics group founded & manages Fenty Cosmetics!!! Rihanna ONLY owns 50% of the Brand!!! [For perspective Kanye West owns 100% of Yeezy in his partnership with Addidas!]
    2. LVMH manufacturers, distributes & retails Fenty Cosmetics!!! Rihanna simply earns a Royalty!!!
    3. LVMH choose to partner with Rihanna to target a specific demographic. The run the show while Rihanna is a glorified Brand ambassador with shared in the Brand!!!
    4. Even the valuation of the business cames from Forbes calculations to declare Rihanna a billionaire based on this 50% stake in Fenty Cosmetics as they did with Kyle Jenner/ Kylie Cosmetics only to reverse that ranking after she sold out to Coty Cosmetics!!!
I expected more from Bloomberg in business journalism, this is a joke!!!

Very white people want to get a tan, people with darker complexion want to be whiter, people with straight hair want to have curls, people with curly hair want their hair to be straight... it's a deeper issue with humans not being easily satisfied with anything, and trying to see what others have as "better". The grass is always greener... All said, being obese is a health issue not a "beauty" issue, people don't necessarily need to be fit or ultra slim, but if the BMI is within a range of concern, people should treat as a serious health issue. Being unhealthy isn't a good thing, doesn't matter if you manage to masquerade with fashion or make-up to look good or not.

Dove, Nivea, L'oreal all companies that started operating in the EU/US markets. Markets 90%/80% "white". The next biggest market that opened? East Asia. Again, few dark completions.
Till the massive, but very culturally divers markets of India (~690mil customers) and Africa (~609mil customers) open up, the situation will persist.
