Your block graduation tutorials literally changed the way I cut hair. For years a blended high with clipper over comb, but this forced me to maintain the right amount of length and weight in the ridge. You're a natural born teacher!
It’s crazy how far your shear game has came since u started the channel bro.I definitely wanna get my shear work up.always appreciate the gems,Sean.🔥🔥🔥cut as well
I love seeing how you shear cut. In cos school that’s how they teach us to cut men’s but I love your videos on fading and anything with clippers because they never taught us that stuff. Thank you!
I'm not gonna lie, your dope bro. Great attitude and energy. You make it look easy. I love the way you explain what your doing and especially the content that you put out. I feel shear work like this doesn't get show or explained a lot. Keep up the great job. Thank you
Hey Sean wanted to tell you my instructor was talking about this before we went on Christmas break and now seeing it makes sense to me, I love your videos keep up great work and keep entertaining and teaching us❤️
I am a New Stylist.Thank you so much for showing and explaining your WHY? I've seen others do it, but they couldn't explain it the way you did..to my brain😁. I will definitely try it this way. Love watching you work.
Thank you..I've been cutting my (3) sons hair for 10 years and I'd say I do pretty good, I just dont have the confidence to go lower than a 2½-3😅 I'm scared🫣
your comb showing the p ridge on the side of the head was super helpful. Can you do the back again showing where the O bone is too? I know you can feel for it, but is there a way to see it with the comb? you sort of did it in the video but really fast. Thanks!
Hey bro I love your videos!! I definitely get the most out of your videos.. Ima relatively new barber. I graduated barber school and passed my state boards in Sept.. Unfortunately the barber school i went to was trash and didn’t teach us hardly anything.. if it wasn’t for a mentor barber I was lucky enough to meet and u guys on youtube i prolly would have got frustrated and gave up.. Do u offer any further education courses, or do u know if any online??I really want to improve on my shear cutting and styling techniques. My idea courses would be something I could. follow along with a manikin.. anyway man, thanks for your time and the content u put out!!!
I do some classes around the country. We have the tomb45 online cademy you should check out. And for shear work BarberJoshOP academy is great. It’s a little advanced though if you don’t feel you have the basics down
Dope cut as always. I have seen 99% of them now 😂 Off topic but I picked up the babyliss lopro influencers and I think I miss my rebels that I sold. Do you like them more than you did your boosted or do you miss those too like I do?
What would you do if your client gets a #3 to a #4 high fade and has a receding hairline. This clients hair sticks straight out on the sides so I take the fade higher but he also has thin hair and recession like your guy in the video. How would I maintain length on the top and still have the high fade blend? Thank you!
great vid man, this helped me alot with shears but one thing that did confuse me was i was doing a hair cut and i approached it with block graduation. but the client asked me to remove a decent amount off the middle ontop and i didnt know what to do since i already had the line set in and connected the sides to the ridge line. what do you do in a situation like that? do you approach it differently?
You would still cut a straight line across the top and just connect to a shorter guide from the side instead of a small section down the middle. You’d still leave your weight in the ridge that you need
Ever since I started doing this shear technique my cuts have been going crazy and my client retention has gone up too cause they say it looks like what they see on tiktok or IG cuts
I’m sure you get these type of statements said all the time. But this is my first time saying it so forgive me. One style I haven’t seen in a minute in general is a fauxhawk. And I need a haircut so I might have to fly out to you because I think it’d make for a fire video. As always Sean your quality is superior 🔥🔥🙏🏾
@@Seancutshair 🔥🔥🔥 HELL YEAH! I’ll take some vacation time in the upcoming months and fly your way. It would be an AWESOME opportunity to just chop it up with the man himself 🙏🏾
Good stuff man but you know most of the time we have a lot of clients.. couple quicker ways to do that. I understand for educational purpose 👍🏼 good tutorial ❤️💈
Yeah I mean if you’re in a fast paced shop a lot of what I teach may not be suitable. We operate on a longer appointment, higher price point at my shop, so we can do a little more detailed techniques and services
@@Seancutshair No disrespect, I understand how it could have been mistaken.. My fault definitely homie you kill it you're tutorials are A1 keep up the good work 👍🏼 and honestly for a tutorial it was brief 💪🏼 Definitely have to find that fine line to be productive and finished. Between you and Eddie best tutorials 👍🏼

That’s the main difference! Glad it’s helped!
I got super lucky. My barber college instructor was all about cutting the top first. You're absolutely right, it makes blending faster and seamless. 👍
💯💯💯

Love watching you work.
You are so welcome!
Any way you could do a clipper, guards, combs, and brushes sanitation video like how you clean them before and after cuts?
I’ve been meaning to do that
Bro the high taper on the side was impressive.. especially the down fading sides 🔥
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The end result was so fresh!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great video. I don't know if you ever bother to watch the Reuzel folks at the Barber conventions but their method is very similiar.
I’ve seen them before! A little familiar with it
One of the most difficult haircut! Great work!
Can you tell me the number you use to fade the side in order from 0 to the highest guard.
Thank you!
these videos really help me understand cutting different types of hair 🙏🏽
Good to hear!!!
Bruh that’s all you had to say 💪🏽 🤝this is the exact tip I needed
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks Sean for sharing your knowledge with us ❤
Any time 🙌🏻

Same way with the comb just slide it up and down the back of the head and it will help you find the occipital and the parietal ridge
super dope vid am just starting off in barbering and need to learn these tips thanks pimp
Welcome!
What kind of scissors you’re using and what is your recommendation?.. something affordable, please. Thanks for the video
I use fresh shears. I have a few videos on them. Awesome price point and lots of options 👌🏻
Thanks bro
He is teaching how to cut hair the right way

See you in Seattle 📝 shear game on point 🔥 great video 💈
Can’t wait!!!
very informative and important. great video sean

The fade is definitely 🔥🔥🔥

I’m not following 100% but you would approach it the same way just shorter or with a fade on the sides
@@Seancutshair yeah sorry it was a bit long lol. Ok that's what I figured. Thanks!
hey sean! i freakin love the videos man. by chance what color guards do you use ?
They’re Martyblendz premium translucent guards. I think he’s dropping this color way soon
@@Seancutshair okay cool. ive been looking for some premium color guards that would fit my gamma clippers well with no chance of rubbing

Started recording without gloves for that reason!

Nice! Love to hear it
What if they want a lot off the top? Can you cut the sides on the P ridge shorter?
Did you leave the fade blade on your boosted clippers?
No it has the faper blade
Hi Sean m, just wonder what size and model of scissors you use the most?
I use a brand called fresh shears and my main shear is a 5.5”. I have a few videos on them
Thanks man! You have helped me progress more then you know!
Question! How do you determine the ridge with the comb? I’m a bit confused.
It will be flat on the head then when it starts to round away from the comb that’s the start of the ridge
@@Seancutshair Got it! Thank you so much and I definitely subscribed! Merry Christmas
Is this the dfs system Josh op uses?
More or less. Kind of my interpretation and explanation
Is the top section always gonna be even when you section it?
Not necessarily. More important you work with the natural growth pattern of the hair
Is that the same process in a bald fade or just for tapers?
Yeah you could do a fade the same way

MartyBlendz.com premium translucent guards
Pure gold

D.F.S formula. Shout out to Barber Josh O.P the og✌🏽
💯💯💯
That taper was clean

Where can i find those shears??

As a barber I know it's much easier starting from the top especially if hair is long!
💯💯💯
Very nicely done…
Thank you!
Kinda hard too see with the black gloves but great video
Yeah I need to lose the gloves next time!
cutting the top is faster and if they have product in don't wash it jus bash the product out with thinners in 30 seconds
Damn why didn’t I think of doing that?!?
thank
