  • The BOSS GT-1 has been a mainstay in my guitar rig since 2017. Those who’ve seen me around at shows and clinics will know this ;) I’ve put together 10 custom patches of my own and am making them available as a free download. Yes! FREE DOWNLOAD!
    Some of these patches are the same ones I’ve been using for performances and recordings. So, if you already have a GT-1, or are considering to get one, give these patches a try! I would love to know if it works for you as well  Guitars have been recorded direct out from the GT-1 to DAW. Put on headphones for best listening experience.
    Here’s the link to the patches:

    Much thanks to Acap & Georgy for helping out with the video production. They are also featured on drums and bass respectively on about half of the demo tracks.

      Amazing patches ! I did try them and loved them all. I have a question. Im not using amp for live. Mostly My output is going straight to mixer machine. I find them too loud when playing in a hall room or its difficult to adjust gain when switching from one patch to another while playing live. Do you have any advice for keeping them on one level manually on the GT1 ? what number I should keep for master output for the best sound ? I Play a fender strat HSS. Thank you once again.

    • @LKWong
      @LKWong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rocksta4u hi, great that you enjoyed the patches! When connecting to the mixer, I suggest that you turn the gain on mixer to zero beforehand and bring up the the channel fader to 0dB as well. Play your guitar and slowly bring up the gain on the mixer channel to taste. Just make sure the mixer preamp is not distorting. As for patch levels on the GT-1, it’s a bit of trial and error. Listen to the patches when you toggle between them and set the patches volume accordingly. Some patches you may want it slightly louder for example a lead sound etc. The more systems you can test it with, the better. This is how I do it, and I’ve been able to pretty plug in to the mixer or an amp without touching any settings on the GT-1 so far. Sometimes just minor EQ tweaks to compensate on the mixer or guitar amp. Hope that helps

      Thank you so much for your time. Very informative. Now i have a better idea now. I have already did it but the other way round. I will have to try the way you said to get the best taste of the patches. Bless you.

      Hi! I programmed it on the unit itself. Although it would’ve been easier using the pc. But I think it’s user friendly enough that I could do it on the unit without having to flip out the manual as we 😂

  • @accentontheoff
    @accentontheoff 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, how would you compare this to the Boss ME 80 in terms of sound quality. I am finding it hard to decide between the two. The ME80 seems very simple to use for a relative beginner, but I am wondering it the GT1 has much better audio quality. Thanks.

    • @LKWong
      @LKWong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Well personally I prefer the GT-1 over the ME in terms of tone. Then again sound is a very personal thing. I’ve used the ME-80 for gigs before and managed to make it work for me. Pros is that it operates like a bunch of stomp boxes and is easy to dial in on the spot. The GT is more of a set a sound and forget about it. To note, the GT uses the same sound engine as the GT-100 too. Hope that helps

    • @accentontheoff
      @accentontheoff 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LKWong Thanks for the reply! The reason you mentioned is exactly why I want to get the ME80 - it seems perfect for someone who is new to effects. But I thought since it’s older the sound will be not half as good as the GT1. You’re saying the difference in audio quality between the two is not much? Not talking about preference, more about quality. I have no way of demoing these two pedals.

    • @LKWong
      @LKWong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@accentontheoff I think the GT-1 sounds a bit better to me. It does have more effects on it as well. However the straight forward programability of the ME-80 might be the deal breaker for many who are starting out with getting into multieftects. GT-1 on the other hand has the software editor for you to make it easier to tweak. However, it’s not as easy if you were to just tweak it on the fly like during at a gig. It’s not as hands on as the ME-80. Concerning tone, there’s a lot that come into play as well such as the amp, your guitar and your fingers. Just to share, I’ve seen Thai guitarist, Jack Thammarat play a show just using the ME-25 (GT-1 replaced this). He got the tones down so good, and I was surprised when I talked to him and he showed me what he was using.

    • @accentontheoff
      @accentontheoff 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LKWong Thanks so much for your detailed reply, at least I know what I am getting into now. There is no easy decision, it is a trade off I guess. GT1 sounds better, ME 80 is easier to use. Luckily you said “bit” better which is not so bad. I think both devices come with software tweaking on the computer, but yeah the ME80 is also easier to tweak on the fly. I think I have seen some of Jack Thammarat’s videos. I think he had demoed one of these devices also, will look him up again. Thanks again, cheers!
