How could it be so cold, but have such little fresh snow for the powder enjoyers this year? 😭 So what do we think - was the van-cooked ramen a winner? Or should we just stick to convenience store food? 😂
I reckon you’re right too :) Let’s see how we go! Hahah, it sure is! We’ll keep trying our best on the Japanese dishes. 💪🏻 As always thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi guys, a fantastic video to start a lazy Sunday morning with. I hope the two of you are well? Based on the current exchange rates the onsen works out at just over £4 which is an absolute bargain. I love how Japan seems to make travelling quite ‘comfortable’ and easy. The ramen looked delicious 😋 glad that you managed to find a decent meal kit too. Congratulations on making the move, I’m genuinely delighted for the two of you and I hope everything goes smoothly. Looking forward to seeing parts of the process and seeing more of what Nagano and its surrounding areas have to offer. The weather here during winter has been generally warmer than in previous years, quite a lot of rain too. We did have one day where we had a decent dumping of snow which was pretty much gone the next day as the temperatures increased by about 10 degrees. Thank you for sharing this excellent video with everyone, again congratulations on beginning your next chapter, looking forward to seeing more fantastic content from the two of you. Safe travels and best wishes to you both and your families 🏴🇦🇺🇯🇵😊
We're doing super well, and just giddy with excitement for the upcoming move! We hope you and your family are doing well too! Honestly you can't beat a well priced onsen (followed by a decent ramen), especially if it takes away that horrible chill in your body after being in the cold all day! Ooooh - so it sounds like it wasn't just a climate event in Japan. What a shame for skiers/snowboarders all around the world. Oh well, we can always looks forward to next year! Thank you so much for your support & lovely comment. Looking forward to sharing all the details about the move!
Having just found your videos yesterday, as my partner and I are off to Japan in 11 days for our first campervan experience - I was shocked your videos aren't a lot more popular. They're great. Good pacing, good presence in front of the camera, excellent editing and entertaining while being informative. Please keep doing what you're doing, I can see your channel blowing up soon. All the best - a fellow Aussie.
Oh my gosh! Only 11 days, that’s so exciting! We hope you both have the trip of a lifetime! (We’re absolutely sure you will!) And thank you so much for the comment - everyone is being so lovely today and the support and comments mean the world to us! 🇦🇺🦘
Your channel will be huge eventually. The editing and content is great. Once you hit 10 or 20k followers a lot of people will probably go back and watch all your old videos and you'll get lots of traffic IMO.
Thank you so much for your faith in the channel and the lovely comment! It’s really nice to hear that people are enjoying the content - it makes all the effort in filming and editing worth it 🤗
I came across this video today and I guess you guys are already living in your new home ! I love Hakuba , we went with the kids and they really loved all the snow, we are from Brazil , so can you imagine the excitement of feeling all that snow in your face? Great video as always and I your Ramen looked really yummy!❤
That's right! We've already moved, and oh my gosh it has been a verrry long process, but well worth it :D Oh man, that would've been such a great experience for the kids! Was this a recent trip to Hakuba or from a while ago? Glad to see so many comments from you, thank you so much for the support!
I’m SO excited you are moving to Nagano prefecture!! I have an aunt in Shiojiri surrounded by apple orchards, then cousins and uncles over by Suwa-Ko. Have you explored Kiso Valley/Nakasendo Trail?? I love those old towns. So charming. Good luck w apartment hunting. 😄
Ohhh we've been seeing Shiojiri a lot on a maps when we've been researching places, and of course Suwa-ko is well renowned - you have family is such beautiful places. Do you get to visit often? Yeah we've been to Kiso Valley + some of the post towns along the Nakasendo and they're absolutely stunning, but it's such a large area with plenty more places to explore! Thank you for your best wishes for apartment hunting 🤞
Thank you so much! It’s actually going quite well - with a video to come on that soon! Nagano sure is a fantastic place, the perfect balance between unreal nature, and just a hop away to Tokyo for every kind of amenity/service one would ever need. Retiring in a place like that sounds like heaven! 🥹

Seems that moving closer to nature is a good fit for you two! Cooking for yourselves is always better than even Japanese conbini. Good on ya!
I reckon you’re right too :) Let’s see how we go!

Good luck Nagano apartment hunting. My Japanese wife and I are investigating retirement spots in Japan and Nagano certainly makes the list.

I've been following the "real rural japan" channel and he is in Nagano!
Oooh! We might have to try and reach out to him. It’ll be nice to try and make friends in a new area. Thanks for watching & commenting!
The cafe looks really nice!
Aimee after tasting ramen broth like why it so spicy meme 😂
Haha, it certainly wasn't my best moment! 😅
Hakuba, not Habuka ;)
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for picking that up. How embarrassing 😅 It has now been changed!
What is that noisy? a bird or what?
The noise near the beginning of the video? It's a crow haha. We didn't realise at the time but it was quite noisy 😆
