We ended up with good weather for at least one day of this countryside trip, so maybe we can call that a success 😅 What did you guys think of our traditional art and craft? Do you have any traditions like this we're you're from? Roy may have interpreted the assignment differently (😂) but I think they both look pretty good hanging in the van.

Nice. I went to the rice terraces in early May and, even though there was no water in the patties, the spring flowers were awesome.
Also, I think I’ll start a vote for a “Roy NG” video. Just love his lightness of life and how he laughs at it. Keep it up!

Loved watching this while I am snuggled in my van bed in the Aussie winter (ok it isn't that cold really I am just a wuss). Looking forward to more of your vanventures!

Hahaha hey we can appreciate that it gets cold sometimes in the Aussie winter 😆 Being snuggled up and all cozy in a van sounds so lovely!

Hi guys I trust you’re both well? Fantastic video, the shots you got of the paddies were beautiful, also nice to hear Aimee was on local tv too.
As I’ve mentioned before, it’s great to see that the van is really working out well for the two of you, it gives you so many more opportunities to explore and also everyone in turn gets to enjoy your adventures too.
Arts and crafts isn’t my ‘specialty’ either lol 😂 but I love the little traditions that Japan has for the rainy season.
It’s been a rather mixed bag of weather here in England/UK. Spring seemed to be quite wet and windy in my area and it’s only in the last week or two that the temperatures are beginning to get a little warmer. Though personally I’m not a huge fan of the hotter weather but it’s lovely to get out in the fresh air and also feel the sunshine on your face 😊
Very much looking forward to seeing the upcoming video about settling into your new area and home life, as great as I imagine visiting the big cities such as Tokyo is I’m really interested in seeing the areas that are more off the tourist route.
Thank you for sharing this excellent video with everyone and best wishes to the two of you 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇦🇺🇯🇵😊

Haha can totally agree about the hot weather. Summer's great for all the outdoor activities but it's always a nice reprieve when the weather starts to turn cool again 😅
Ooh great to hear you're looking forward to seeing more about the countryside life. We've got a few ideas up our sleeves for things we want to show, like our favourite parks and the very strict garbage separation out here in the countryside haha.
Thank you for watching and hope you have a lovely rest of your week! 🍃☀️

@@RoyandAimee Hi to the two of you.
Sounds like you have some interesting videos coming up and seeing more of the Japanese countryside and local communities would be great, thank you in advance.
The rubbish separation and collection rules and routines is something that I think is useful too, it always surprises me that there seems to be a lack of public litter bins but not a great deal of rubbish in the streets (if any). It does appear that the customs, politeness and thought of others is taught or introduced to children early so it’s instilled in them as second nature as they grow older.
I’ve had a generally positive week thank you guys, I’m also looking forward to the weekend and getting out for a wander, catching up with a couple of friends and taking time to relax too.
Thank you for the lovely reply and have a great weekend 😊

That sounds like a very nice, relaxing weekend 😊
Yes haha the lack of public bins are quite famous, aren't they? The community-mindedness is certainly one factor that really influenced us staying and living in Japan. On the other hand, as a result of that collective thinking, we've heard from some friends who feel it's tough if they don't fit into society perfectly. But with all countries there are pros and cons - same with Australia and I guess, perhaps the UK?
Anyways, hope you enjoy your week ahead! ☀️

Really enjoy your videos,my wife and I will rent a van in October (Japan Campers) and head north,I lived in Japan in the early 90’s, what interest us is the cost of things now, petrol, food, even tollways, free camping etc, keep up the good work… cheers!

Thanks so much for watching! That sounds like it's going to be a great trip! Japan in October is always beautiful with the leaves starting to turn. Ooh it'd be very interesting to hear how the prices compare. Very generally, we pay around 150 yen/L for diesel, about 2500 yen for the two of us when eating out and 2000 yen for a couple hours driving on the expressway.

I mean no disrespect and appreciate your effort. This is just a point I hope you take seriously. The purpose of the video... IS the scenery the country side. And I feel you had a HUGE missed opportunity to just record the sunrise with the clouds and sun peaking through and all the birds around. Not talking heads no voice on top of it or with it, no music over it. Nature is not copyrighted, you don't need to fill every space. And though it is your channel that moment was overtaken and terrupted by the focus being you, talking with it as the background only, and the inserted music. It would have been a magnificent scene and sound that the viewers could have immersed in because we are not there. That scenery alone nature alone can and is powerful enough to be content all on its own it is a super ally for your content. Im sure you will have many chances next time 🙏🏻
