These dudes are built different. I'ma regular vet, and deployment messed me all up. Took a couple yrs, but regular life is gnarly. Depression is a real thing, the VA loads us up on pills Those percs add up to more percs and when your numbers are off..... well they cutting you off. Then come the alcohol to cope and the time flies and now you wake up all night and gotta drink to go back sleep. Everyone thinks your a drunk bum and in reality your fighting for your mf life still
For what it’s worth, I’m a civilian and most of us got all messed up anyway. Same as 40 year olds who served and 40 yr olds who sat on thei couches all got bad backs and bad knees. I really think you made the right choice. ❤
But no lie, what you describe literally is the definition of a drunk bum. So if that’s not who you want to end up being you better get to work. Do whatever you need to. No one wants that for you.
Agree Mike. All 6 of my military years were served over in the middle east. (Multiple deployments).The things I've read, or heard 😂...and of course I feel the same. If I was there, I'll jump in the conversation. If not, I'm out. Peroid. I don't judge where I didn't serve. Definitely owe our fellow veterans the benefit of discussing their "time".
