- In this video I will repair a FRM module on an BMW e90 that have been bricked probably by a voltage fluctuation . Officially for this problem you'll need to replace the FRM module , unofficially it can be repaired , because the module is failing on software not hardware , so join me in this process !

M-am apucat sa schimb un electro motor și la final boom , a picat modulul, când am început sa fac ceva research am găsit ca este un recall in uk reparația gratis.succes in cea ce faci ,eram gata gata sa fac reparația cu un autel maxysis .
Super! E bine ca sa rezolvat ! Da intradevar e un recall, dar are o limita, nu toate masinile se incadreaza ! Depinde de varsta si nr de km !

Just Incredible! I have a warning on Bimmercode on my FRM_89 Footwell Module (Error memory contains critical errors) (BMW E90 lci 2010, all works but i need to code my ECU) so need i do same steps for repair my ECU?

On my 2017 5series the turn signal does not work, and wiper comes on when the car is in motion without been switched on. Wiper turns off when car stops. Can this be the FRM gone bad?

Hello from Norway! Nice video by the way. I was wondering if you have any experience with the gws (gear selector switch) on e60? I have used winkfp to program my VIN to a used part, and by the way it worked fine with the VIN and zusb number from dodnor car. As I started programming the light in the gws is off and it is not working. I was using a k+d can cable and I was thinking that is the problem and not using Icom. Do you think that this could be repaired in the same way as the frm modules? Had some transmission problems and was thinking it was related to the gws having different VIN number that my car has. Probably I will get a used gws again and leave it as is to not have any problems like this because the car can not go into gear or move now 😔

Nice video, do you need to disconnect the battery when doing this? I’m having the same issue and apparently I’m only having the issue because I disconnected and reconnected the battery while doing other work on the car.
Hello, the voltage fluctuations or and, in your case, battery disconnection can affect the module, is nothing that you can do better to prevent this

When some people change their battery, they seem to have all sorts of issue on reconnection i.e FRM module not working. Should you wait for the car to sleep before replacing the battery, so the modules are not active? I've read some keep a battery charger connected to the posts under the hood while they change their battery. What's your opinion on this?
I believe in ISTA+ there is a setting where you can force the car to go into sleep mode. I'm presuming that's the same as just leaving your car and letting it sleep?

Hello, you don't need xprog to flash your FRM , you need istaP or winKFP and NCS to code , Xprog will be used only when the FRM will fail, and yes it's possible to be corrupted .

@@MOvidiu Thanks. I just put the the FRM from another BMW, the problem with lights was solved, but the driver windows buttons dont work now, as the Mirrors and rear sensors too! (Before Change the FRM, this three itens were fine)
To avoid FRM3 failure in the future, it's software should be updated to latest version.
The problem is not the software itself , firstly the software that is updated is in the Pflash , Pflash is the Program Flash , and the partition that it's corrupted is in EEE. the problem is cause by this type of processor .

Hello! you'll need to do a complet diagnosis of that car ! first start with a scan and investigate deeper ! by checking measuring and so on! I can't know what the problem is without physically seeing the car! and with opinions of what can be, you won't resolve the problem!!!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a 2010 BMW 116i and one the rear braking and parking lights are not working. The electrician told me that there was a problem with LCM and he needs to send it to another person to repair. Would you think they need to go through all the steps you have just explained or they just need to replace a couple of fuses?
