- PETERBOROUGH STATION in FEBRUARY 1987
Still on my wanders around the midlands in February 1987. I sat myself at Peterborough station. The weather was perking up nicely and as the sun was getting low in the sky, I was getting some glorious shots of HST's heading North and South. All London bound and Ex London services were in the hands of "HST's" and the Birmingham to Norwich and V.V were still in the hands of the faithfull class 31's. There was at that time quite a variety of traction to be seen and was a busy place for services from many different parts of the Eastern counties. Enjoy this little episode from the 1980's era. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Thank you! I've said it before and I'll say it again: I could very happily watch these 80s videos all day! Oh to have a time machine! Some people want to go back to the dinosaur era, some to the year zero, I would set it for 1980 and just spend my life on trains! 😊
I agree, maybe I would go back a little further to 1965 to see the steam era out...Wishful thinking eh....best wishes...Mark
That announcer brings back so many memories
Fantastic job by the window cleaner at 11:14 !!! Thank you so much for uploading these amazing videos!

Many thanks for watching and your comment, sorry for the late response was away for 2 weeks...best wishes...Mark
Travelling from Leicester to Norwich for me was a real treat. Corridoor coaches, telegraph lines, and a very very long clackety clack section between Peterborough and Norwich going through forest amplifying the 31's growl. Abba was number one last time i went there with Souper Trouper haha
You're very welcome.Yes those hypnotic telegraph poles..many thanks for watching and for the comment...best wishes....Mark
I remember that journey back then when we would do GY to Hull in the summer and Easter to see mt grandparents.
It would be a rattly 101 from GY to Norwich, a corridor Class 31, as you described, Norwich to Peterborough, hopefully a Class 43 HST from Peterborough to Donny.
Can't remember what we got from Donny to Hull.
Just how I remember my home town.
Many thanks for your kind comment.....best regards...Mark
Like how they were wiring up the OHLE while trains were running, not a chance that would happen today.
Many thanks for your comment and for watching...best wishes...Mark
