Hey thanks for your encouraging comment, you know I can now see the shoots staring to come through the soil again despite the frosts and cold weather ... so spring is coming around again :-) I do enjoy all the seasons and changes in the garden, its all part of the 'magic' I think? Have a great new year!
Hi, thanks for your comment, and excellent question. The key question for me would be did the bulbs feel good and firm? If they are soft/squidgy if gently squeezed that is certainly a concern. A little bit of mould on some old dry skin may not be an issue, it has been a challenging year for some of bulb growers in Europe as the heatwave hindered the process of lifting the bulbs out of the ground, so if you want / have the time to lift your bulbs and clean them up it won’t do any harm, and will give you peace of mind (I have in the past gently rubbed bulbs to remove loose / mouldy skins before planting) I hope this helps? Keep us posted please with your progress Thanks!
Hi Roger! I have a question. I have a pot with daffodils that a friend gave me in good conditions, I was watering them once every week (and letting them drain) but they are deteriorating, so I tried to water them more frequently and still continue to fade. So how often should I water them? I am also putting them in a place where they get direct sun light around 5 hours, and in a colder room. I already cut the flowers that were already dead and the leaves that were brown and dead. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I think is the watering frequency. Can you help me with this? Thanks!!
Hi Rebeca - thanks for your question, can I ask you 'where are you keeping them - inside or outside?' also what country are you living in (is it a warmer country than Wales?) - thanks
@@rogthegardener1 Absolutely! I'm living in Stockholm, Sweden and I'm keeping them inside my apartment. But the room I'm keeping them is wuthout heating so it can be around 5-15°C (cause still some heating goes inside). Thanks for your reply!
@@rebecalopez8332 OK thanks for the info, its hard to be sure what is going on, is it possible it could have become dry over the last week or two? certainly it would require more water when inside compared to being outside. I would say check it every day by pressing your finger tip onto the soil surface, if it feels damp, no need to water, but if it is dry then it needs water. You could stand it in a saucer of water and see how much the plant soaks up within 2 hours ( after that you could pour away any water still left in the saucer). Here is the UK I would be keen to get them plant outside into some soil if possible or if no soil available then into a larger pot. The good news is that even if some of the leaves and flowers die off the bulbs underneath are probably alive and will come back next winter / spring, so there is always hope!
@@rogthegardener1 Ok great! Thanks for your recommendations Roger! I'll follow those and hopefully can get them healthy again soon! All the best and thanks for your valuable content in TH-cam! :)
Hi, thanks for your comment ... I am not sure if you can get daffodil bulbs in your area, because of the difference in weather compared to here in Wales, UK. I have tried to look on line and there seems to be some varieties of daffodil which can be grown in Florida, but have been unable to copy a link from the websites to show you, maybe you could ask at a local nursery what they think about it ...maybe you could let us all know what they say and if you mange to grow any?
Thanks for the video. Lovely tips and suggestions.
You're very welcome - thanks for your comment
Amazing Show Roger !

Hi I just planted some bulbs in pots but I see some mould on the top of the bulbs. Should I dig them out get rid of the mould and plant again?
