- The Original Transformers had a stranglehold on Bekah an I. So much so that when it came time to finally buy a tow rig vs. a Porsche Panamera, we knew exactly what truck we had to buy. Trouble is, finding one was NEARLY impossible..

The advice my dad gave me when i first got a van after a little pontiac when i was 16. "Be aware of your surroundings when you turn. There's 15 feet of truck behind you." It's called spatial awareness. Know where your wheels and bumpers are at all times.
Next purchase: Peterbuilt - to tow the truck towing a car

Please. Do not put performance mods on the engines except egr block of plate or whole delete, DEF delete with 4" down pipe to 5" exhaust (stacks will get the truck full of soot, so think about if that is really worth it.) and an off-road tune. Maybe efi live and head studs. Once you start adding performance mods. It becomes less and less reliable once you go beyond those basic ones.
Production ended in 2008 and def wasn’t added until 2009 so no worries there but it may have dpf depending on production date

I'm about it. I love those types of megatrucks. Reminds me of the "F-750".
If you want a 5th-wheel, you might end up buying a custom trailer. If you want used, you might end up with a gooseneck. A 5th-wheel is less prone to crosswind instability. But it depends on your prefered trailer length. With a truck like that, I'd opt for a full 48' trailer. The trailer will cost more than the truck though, unless you have one already. (Not sure if the ferrari was transported using a rented/friend's trailer ir not)
As for the mods, everything discussed is good. I would keep the engine stock because neither of you are experienced repairing diesel engines. Mrchanics don't like to muck around with modded engines. The stacks is just a cool flex move. The winch/bumper is an S&G move. This is a street vehicle, not an offroader. If you're going to paint the truck or wrap it, use the opportunity to turn the truck into a rolling billboard supporting your brand. Just have a huge "martiniworks" logo on the side, or some other company branding. Long road trips would mean free advertising everywhere you go. Kids will say "look at that mommy" and the dads will say "hey that's Alex Martini". The brand will then be cemented in their mind.
Just a thought.
Get used to DEF fluid and clogged EGR valves. Overall though, owning a desiel isn't too bad.

Its a bad ass truck my dad got one back in 2009. Just owns the road. It has been down for past few years but he finally retired and has been putting the time in to get it running.

I like those trucks a lot . The one thing I wish they did was get some more meat on them . The wheels don’t look bad at all just need them to look like they didn’t keep skipping leg day
gotta have a tow rig.... got a raptor, realized it wasnt a truck that tows, got a beater 6.0 super duty, that 6.0 will rip a house off its frame son! slight tune, dont wanna blow it up but still need it to be faster then regular traffic, still got the raptor for the weekends with my other toys....

To be legal you need to get a health card. You do not need a cdl, but make sure to get a health card to drive legally. They are good for 2 years and take around $50-$75 to get
Huh...I 1000% did not expect to see a truck like this for the wife....Its insane to think about but I think it could honeslty be pretty cool to see it haul a lot of broken project/daily drivers.
Also, if she really does work on the truck on her own, she's probably gonna have bigger muslces than you by the end of the year which would also be kinda funny to see.
