Lot of crazy lore and theories about Mrs. Puff start in this episode. That line of her saying she won’t change her name or start a new boating school again is not just a throwaway joke. That could retroactively make the news segment they play of the destruction as not just her imagining what would happen, but also a FLASHBACK of it happening before (the news fish sounds younger and has a wig like it was a long time ago). Although his name has the word "squid" in it and he has only six tentacles, Squidward is an anthropomorphic octopus. He lives in a moai between SpongeBob SquarePants' and Patrick Star's houses.
On the topic of the hyper-realistic close-ups: I believe Mr. Lawrence (writer, and voice of Plankton, "my leg" guy, Larry, and others) as well as some others working on Spongebob when it came out, used to work on Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life before Spongebob! So I think some of the same humor/jokes translated over, which included the hyper-realistic close-up gags! I believe Spogebob was (and still is?) a storyboard-driven show, so instead of writing out a script, a lot of the gags are drawn out first (following a loose plot line, I'm guessing) which leads to a lot of great visual gags! Anyways, been enjoying your reactions to these early episodes, I always love seeing people enjoy iconic things for the first time! I hope you guys get to the movie eventually, that's one of my absolute favorites, haha

There are three characters Squidward, Squilliam and later on into the show Squilvia. All names translate to Edward, William and Silvia. Roger Bumpass said [I guess] "Octoward just didn't work" so it was more so a joke than a fact. Also Stephen Hillenburg himself has stated Squidward's and octopus

Although his name has the word "squid" in it and he has only six tentacles, Squidward is an anthropomorphic octopus. He lives in a moai between SpongeBob SquarePants' and Patrick Star's houses.
There's actually a TH-cam video that goes into detail about Mrs. Puff's and this episode.
I feel kinda betrayed when they cut off Patrick saying, “ Uh….I am?”
These are some of the best episodes, theres also a theory that Ms puff is a criminal and she disguises as a boating teacher, when she sayd “Ill have to move to a new town & start a new boating school under a new name…. No not again” is why people believe its true 😂
28:52 When Kevin kicked the net there were in fact 20 jellyfish.
Mrs Puff lore actually goes deep
Larry's probably with Squidward at the moment, both hissing at SpongeBob whenever he walks past his house
"Imagine what dreams must happen in hibernation sleep."
No thanks, just last night i had a dream that went on for a legit 2 weeks. And even in the dream, I just wanted it to END.
They have to watch the Mrs Puff theory now! Welcome to the Alex Bale rabbit hole 😊
I love you guys ❤. I think you guys should check out Alex Bale on the SpongeBob theories. It’s so much fun and kinda gives a believable back story to Mrs. Puff especially the episode we watched about her stealing the boat. I hope you guys watch it.
This is when SpongeBob starts going into its peak imo, so many iconic lines and funny memes in season 2 & 3
There's something about the way SpongeBob gasps that always gets me
Patrick had a cookie in his pocket for 3 days
Bikini atoll theory was favorable at the time but tbh after watching Alex Bale's take on spongebob theories I think by far his makes the most sense......well at least most of them. After you had your fill watching the first 4 seasons and maybe some of the rest (episodes here and there) watch Alex Bale's theories if you want to get deeper into the world it won't dissapoint
15:40 lol they described the episode before it even happened 😂
Petition for y’all to watch the SpongeBob theories by Alex bale 😂😂
Later in the series there's a newspaper that has Mrs. Puff's picture on it (the one in the news report from this episode) saying something along the lines of a boating school instructor turned robber who distracts cops with balloon animals caught. Its on a newspaper just in the background of a random episode but its pretty amazing.
Episodes with Patrick never fail they are the best.
The skin theory is fun too. Something about everyone is actually in costumes and it stops when the creator leaves the show
As a kid, the hibernation episode was always my singular least favorite. I think Sandy freaked me out.
I hated it because of how awful Patrick and Spongebob were in that one to Sandy. It's one I choose to rewatch the least.
The survival of two idiots was super funny especially who are you calling a pin head
Gary only follow Patrick because he wants the cookie in his pocket that why
you need watch that mrs.puff theory
22:40 well here and since you guys brought up the mutation theory earlier, maybe you guys can react to alex bale's spongebob theories when you get far enough in the series
Just discovered your channel I like it, Spongebob season 1-4 is epic, my most fav from these ones was Mrs Puff's extra credit episode, her sayin "not again" really has you thinking of her back story XD. Btw its best to avoid wild animals no matter how much you love them during hibernations, like the Grizzly Man incident in 2003.

“Why is Patrick being such a dick?”
He's a saint here, compared to the moronic asshole he'd become three seasons later…😠
It mustn't happen straight away since 3 Katanas are just on Season 5 and he hasn't been a jerk yet.
Also, at least he doesn't stay that way.
I think they would love to react to the SpongeBob conspiracy series from Alex bale
31:17 KEVIN!!! 😂
