Oh okay are yall going to watch SpongeBob Sponge out of water when yall finish the seasons
My condolences to you, but I suppose you bring it on yourself at that point.
*Ooh yay can’t wait!*
when will they react to them on youtube
its been fun, maybe one day you'll learn to just let people enjoy things@@SonicMegaKing
I’m still in disbelief that it was Scarlett Johansson voicing Mindy. Before she even became Black Widow, she was already doing a role I liked, and for over a decade, most of us had no idea it was her.
Because she is a child Actress
She was also in eight legged freaks.
And home alone 3@@jakobnunez4964
@@SmallOneEyedKingShe would’ve been twenty
I didn’t even know this
Fun fact: David Hasselhoff was written to be in this movie before he was even asked, luckily he said yes. And in addition to whatever he was paid, he was also given the 12-ft model of himself they used to film all of the scenes with Spongebob and Patrick riding on his back. That statue went on auction a few years ago.
Lucky him.
Didn't he also not want to do it at first but did it because his kids wanted him to or something
@@vivaviva3617 i think i remember something in that vein being said but i only remember the model being gifted but it wouldn't surprise me if true
@@vivaviva3617you're thinking of David Bowie when he voiced a character in a different SpongeBob movie.
😂
Fun fact this movie is actually the official ending of SpongeBob every single other movie and episode from the series are all before this movie
Yeah that's the theory I often go with as well that season 4 and beyond are all taken place before the events of this movie. I also theorize that the Krusty Krab 2 was cancelled after Krabs realized how he's legally obligated to share the profits with the manager of the second Krusty Krab and that's why it's no longer a thing after the movie.
@@BeeKee404Its not a theory, the creator himself stated that (R.I.P Stephen Hillenburg)
@@GoInGcRz it was supposed to be the finale of the original series he made, though they moved on without him and the show later has some callbacks to the movie, mindy shows up here and there for example.
Funny enough, Vincent Waller debunked this on Twitter. This wasn’t meant to be the chronological ending for the series.
It was the perfect ending
Fun Fact: This movie is partially inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. It’s about a crew that venture across the seven seas, encountering thieves & killers, sirens (the Frogfish), a cyclops, a detour into the underworld (the trench), and have the looming threat of Poseidon/Nepton upon them. They even use a bag of winds!
Don’t forget the bag of wind!
What about Dennis?
@@FrostyFyre Yes!
I do vaguely remember David Hasselhoff in Homer's Odyssey
Sooooo the movie Sinbad? I had no idea it was based off of that
"The sentences Mr. Krabs whispers into SpongeBob's ear while informing him that he was not given the job as manager of The Krusty Krab 2 are reversed on TV airings, because you can hear Mr. Krabs say "jackass"."
That's hilarious
They censor the good parts of media smh
😮😊
It's a bit subtle, but I love how Patrick is always the one who messes up haggling with other characters; he even did with the previous version of Neptune in the cooking olympics. It's always fun to see.
What are TWO challenges to a guy like Spongebob?!
“if I had a nickel for every time Patrick messed up haggling with other characters, I would have 2 nickels. Which is a lot, considering it happened twice”

Wow it was that long ago?? Time flies 😂

Took watching your reactions to realize that probably the reason why Plan Z is lemon-scented, is that it might be a call-out to the Every Villain Is Lemons episode (S3E12B)....
Holy crap how the hell did I miss that???
Wait what?
Funny thing about that they were actually going to make that episode longer but they cut it down I guess because they already had plans to make the show go on longer because Nickelodeon wanted it footage out there of that particular episode
Huh, ain't that a cool tidbit
that's exactly what I said out loud when he said it's lemon scented
18:43 That’s right boys and girls, Motörhead re-recorded their song “You Better Run” into “You Better Swim” for the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Soundtrack. It also includes songs from Avril Lavigne, The Flaming Lips, Ween, and Wilco.
I was about to suggest that lol
What did the flaming lips do on it?
@@ohwow9870 An original song called “SpongeBob & Patrick Confront the Psychic Wall of Energy”
@@cgsoldier4196 OOH that’s the one song in the credits, I see
I think Ween even helped inspire the show's creation as a whole
This movie is the true finale of SpongeBob SquarePants
The creator didn't even want more seasons after the movie, the first 3 seasons and the movie are the true story of spongebob
Hillenburg directed the film, titled The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which was theatrically released in the United States on November 19, 2004, to critical and commercial success. It was originally planned to act as the series finale, but the series success led to the production of more episodes.
You either die a hero or watch yourself become oversaturated
Well no
@@RaijinRain Heh! "Saturated"!
The reaction to Hasselholf was everything 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😂😅😂😅😂
Oh wow, I never noticed that on the wall of Goofy Goober’s. That is indeed Popeye- that specific panel being his first appearance in anything.
Didn't Tom Kenny play Popeye in the unreleased new Popeye movie? Full circle, kinda!
fun fact: the pirate captain was meant to be Patchy and that was supposed to be his crew. But they completely scrapped that entire idea for whatever reason they had.
Weird it would be scrapped, especially when patchy is canonically a die hard SpongeBob fan
What would be cool is if painty/burger beard from the second movie was actually apart of that pirate crew, and that’s where he learned of spomgebob’s existence from
One of the best animated movies of all time and the true ending to the show. Rest in peace Stephen Hillenburg.
Why does Erick actually look like patchy 😭
He really does🤣🤣🤣
"President of the SpongeBob SquarePants fan club!"
This movie finally shows you why Plankton really wants the secret recipe. It’s not to have a successful restaurant, it’s to rule the freaking world. Till this day, this is one of the best movies to ever be produced from a cartoon.
"Why is David Hasselhoff there?!"
"Because it was 2004!"
That's the best explanation!
38:02 Of all the "underwater fire" gags on _SpongeBob,_ this has to be my absolute favourite, because it perfectly illustrates just how ridiculous that concept is, even more than Patrick outright questioning it in "Life of Crime".
It's not as bad. It's magical fire from an undersea God. That episode was just a realistic fire
32:33 "I bet this haunted kids when they were young" - can confirm, 26 years old now, 6 years old when it came out, scene still makes me tear up to this day, even knowing what happens after.
As many as you know, this movie was meant to be the conclusion to the series, but Nickelodeon just saw the popularity the show had. And, like most companies with runaway successes, they milked it dry (not to discredit the good found in the recent seasons as there’s fun to be had in Season 5 - 8 for example, but it’s hard to find that kind of good). But, yeah, since this is canonically the end of the show’s timeline, i’m kind of surprised that they didn’t make an epilogue (I know there’s rightful controversy on SpongeBob’s spin-offs and whether Stephen Hillenburg allowed it or not, but a series on SpongeBob running the Krusty Krab 2 would’ve done ASTRONOMICALLY better than Kamp Koral)
I think Seasons 1-3 were great, and season 8 was the last of "good" seasons. After that it just went down hill.
What's it supposed to be the finale because I've been hearing people saying different things on the finale and there was a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episode which was the final one of the free movie are That was supposed to be a special decided he was going to leave
@@malachiphoniex8501 I've always had a similar view that after 2008 they started to mostly go downhill but there were still some good ones through to about season 8 or so. But I don't think I've watched a new episode for about the last 8 or 9 years.
@@sherylannd6813 Season 8 is honestly underrated and probably one of my favorite scenes after the first 3. I honestly don't have a lot of fondness for 4 and 5.
@andykishoresothertvstuff5759 when did I say anything about 9 years?
40:25 Goofy Goober is still the best ending to a movie and to some series EVER. Ill never get tired of Wizard Spongebob
“Hasselhof likes blowing loads off his chest then?” LMAO
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
9:31 "oh god, depression destroyed him!" "u good?.. whoa- there we go!" LOL!
yeah, that scared me too
I'm so glad you made it here. This is the true finale of the show and it really should've ended here, as originally intended. It's one of the best movies based on a tv show ever. The epic story, iconic characters, and banger songs, and especially the build up to "Goofy Goober Rock" are all just amazing. And I love the message that it's okay to let your inner kid out sometimes. Also, I still can't believe they got Scarlett Johansson to voice Mindy. I was so surprised to learn that.
Even though I kind of agree that the show should’ve ended here, I’m glad it didn’t because the later Seasons still have some really good episodes imo.
Nah. If aponegbob ended here we wouldn't have the joy and memes of season 4 to 9.
Also we wouldnt be talking about it as shows that end eventually stop being aired. Look at other 3 season shows.
Eh I disagree, I'm glad it didn't ended here.
This might just be the best movie based on a cartoon series.
Definitely.
We’ve made it to the end of the first era
When I was in the Navy there was a guy I worked with that was completely, shiny head bald, and often when he walked into the room we would all go "BALD BALD" at him and I didn't realize until now that was probably a spongebob reference that was deeply embedded in our brains somewhere.
Kitty's like: "Dad, what the hecks are you doing?" 💜
“What the scallop” 😭 gets me everytime
I've seen this movie countless times, and I've only realized Princess Mindy was played by scarlett johansson over the past year.
I’m glad plankton is the main antagonist and actually poses a threat. Throughout the show he has gotten close, but here he actually achieves his goal.
Truly one of the best cases of Deus Ex Machina when Spongebob starts a speach about being yourself, transforms into a Rock n' Roll Wizard and saves Bikini Bottom with the power of a sick guitar solo.
It's a shame SeeOhKnee couldn't be there for this reaction, I'm glad they got somehow got Patchy the Pirate himself on though in his place. He must have owed one of them a favor
This imo was the true finale of Spongebob. Once season 3 ended Stephen Hillenburg left the show to work on the movie. Once the movie was done that was it for him and new show runners took over. RIP Stephen Hillenburg. He created so much amazing childhood memories with this show.
But everyone Disses Paul Tibbitt (The next Showrunner) even though he wrote the best SpongeBob episodes of ALL TIME!

Oh boy, can't wait for that song to show itself again in about a year.
I still remember the day I saw this in theaters as a teen!
Those were wonderful times!
I too remember seeing this film back when it came out in 2004. This and Shrek 2 (which came out in the same year) were personally my favorite theatrical experiences if only just for how packed the theater was. Good times indeed!
I love how the setting of their battle with dennis is just Hasselhoff's hairy legs😭
The first iconic best SpongeBob movie
I love it even the parts where SpongeBob and Patrick died in shell city is emotional believe it the end of them
10:06 eating alot of ice cream in the bar reminds you of getting a hangover by drinking at the bar
Maybe Their Is Alcohol In Ice Cream Casuing Them To Get Drunk So Hard
It's no secret that this definitely is the intended ending of spongebob. In terms of a timeline this movie even takes place at the very end, even future episodes and movies are suppose to be before this one (even if certain episodes contradict that)
Everyone should look up the pictures, they built a giant hasselhoft model for his boat scenes and they let him keep it after. Also he was really happy he got to do the movie because it was his kids favorite show
Fun Fact: Scarlett Johansson loved her role as Cindy so much she voiced her in the video game as well. She even said in an interview she had a lot of fun doing it because she is a big fan of weird cartoons " Ren and Stimpy" being one of her favorites.
Okay, whoever made the timing for the subtitles needs to be fired.
8:03 He was also Mayor Augustus Maywho in the live-action _Grinch._
When thinking of the best animated movies in history, this is it.
Love how Plankton wasn't taken seriously into he became an actual threat in this movie.
The video game for this movie was very fun (not as good as Battle For Bikini Bottom on PS2, but still fun)
Yeah that game rocked, I remember the goofy goober section being hell on earth though, as well as the driving time trials.
@meursaulty6672 Those were my biggest complaints about the game.
10/10
Goofy goober rock, wonderfully heartwarming gem!
Even as an adult I love this Spongebob movie! Great story where Plankon brain controls bikini bottom and the 2 pals Spongebob and Patrick have to go on legendary adult adventures to save everyone. The humor is spot on, whacky characters, inspiration up the wazoo, and loads of entertainment. Anyone a fan of the series or not is bound to enjoy the 2004 movie.
the theater usher at the end is Margeina Tovah who was in fact in Raimi's Spiderman 2 & 3.
now That is a wild catch
Yeah I've watched this movie like a million times and this is the first time I realized that 😂
The animation in the movie is unlike any other SpongeBob episode or any other movie, and it adds to the charm. The animation is really funny too, like certain frames just look so goofy and that’s the point.
Mr. Krabs must have some seriously advanced security if Plankton managed to steal the crown first try despite all those times trying to get the secret formula. Also, it's so good to be here with you guys and I can't wait for Season 4 next week 😊
4:00 SpongeBob hitting us with that fluoride stare.
6:45 Bro I Realize I Can Still Hear Mr Krabs Whisper Saying JACKAS Word 😂😅😂
When Eric dresses as Patchy, his cat should be dressed as Potty.
This is the first movie I ever watched in Theaters, so this is like Nostalgia overload.
Btw did you know they made like a gigantic statue of David Hasselhoff swimming for this lol.
I think I watched the first movie when I still in my school.
27:56 Rigby was right…
I remember season four being pretty good. I was still watching with my younger siblings. We eventually got to the point where we all just sort of went to different shows at about the same time. I dont remember which season it was. But I'm glad to have revisited the show with you and all the other Billy's.
8:50 I Think Spongebob Is Drunk And Crying More Now Cause He Didn't Get His Job.
37:30 Funny how we just accepted this as kids. Like who in their right mind would’ve ever come up with this 😂😂
This movie was so good back in 2004 this is a classic childhood
I forgot how the end of the Shell City bit was some freaking Evil Dead shit, all of the taxidermy'd creatures coming back, it's the best XD

It makes me happy to see that even after maturating beyond our childhoods, each one of us still finds the way to enjoy this timeless classic.

So that's where the meme came from. I completely forgot, but I still encounter “BALD!”
"It’s the tear of the Goofy Goobers bro"
This is a fun movie. They put a lot of love into it. I am almost in uncharted territory now. I think I stopped around...I want to say season 5. So I'll have to start watching this show again lol.
Have you checked out Quirky Quota? They also react to SpongeBob and are currently on Season 8 (really close to the second movie)
This right here was the very first movie I've ever seen in theaters! 💛
Bruh Erik's outfit is on point!
40:14 this Goofy Goober song has two music covers: the main one of "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister, and this bop moment from David Lee Roth's cover of "I Aint Got Nobody"
28:07 When they do it sideways, it makes it more better 😂
Sometimes I forget how well animated this movie, especially in the live action moments! The point where all the fish were beating up the Cyclops looked really good! Even the part of Hasselhoff's chest launcher looked pretty impressive.
This movie was awesome and freaking hilarious. It has the funniest memes, great songs and adventures. David Hasselhoff made the best appearance. RIP Stephen Hillenburg for making this movie incredible. We're all Goofy Goobers!

I was like 14 when this came out and I cried at the “death scene.” Can’t imagine something like that happening with any of my other early childhood heroes like Steve or Ms Frizzle. 😂

What a legendary childhood we had back then, that'll forever be remember
29:24 I cannot tell you how many times I tried to grow a mustache like Dennis did when I was a kid.
David Hasselhoff appearing to help SpongeBob and Patrick get home is a reference to him starrring in the old Baywatch show where he was a lifeguard who helped people on the beach. So in a way, it makes sense that he came to help SpongeBob and Patrick.
Man I miss my copy of this DVD 😢 one of the only movies I've ever lost during moving.
Happy to hear that you guys are continuing past the first movie. 1-3 are hailed as the “Golden Age” and while that’s probably true, there’s enough episodes and moments from 4-6 that make the show still worth watching imo. The show doesn’t become mediocre imo until Season 7 (and there’s still some solid stuff from 7-10, the show doesn’t become unwatchable until 11 imo)
Honestly in my eyes the golden age is 1-4
5 isn't bad but a few episodes in it are
6-7 is where my dark era begins
8-9 is where it gets better for me
10-12 is the show's revival era for me infact 10 & 11 are 2 fav modern seasons
12 is also up there too but doesn't beat 10 & 11.
WHAT? Season 6 Was the START OF THE DARK
And the show got better as of season 9B. You...
@@warrenmfouaponSeason 6 is incredibly underrated and doesn’t deserve its title of dark age. Sure there’s some occasional blunder like The Splinter but for every one of those you have an all time classic like Not Normal, Suction Cup Symphony, The Slumber Party, No Hat For Pat, Pineapple Fever etc. as for the renaissance I’ll give you 9B since thinking about it is generally solid but around Season 11 the writing took an incredible hit. Characters became incredibly one note, the animation became way to wacky for what is SpongeBob and the story and joke telling are incredibly poorly done, not every episode is awful but this era has produced some of the worst episodes the franchise has put out, like The Nitwitting, Squirrel Jelly, Plane To Sea, Friendiversary, Squidiot Box, the list could go on and on.
20:30 Nice reference to Turtles 2 secret of the ooze.
This movie always has a special place in my heart, and I'm glad we've made it this far.
31:05 This one flew over my head as a kid, as even though I knew who Alexander Graham Bell was, we pronounce the name Graham as "gray-am" here in Australia, so I didn't get how the "clam" pun was supposed to work.
Man, this movie had so many great moments. But my all time favorite is the rock n roll Goofy Goober theme. That was my jam!
7:17 I don't know why, but I feel like Sandy's gonna kick Eugene's dump truck tomorrow.
6:49 I think the real reason Mr. Krabs made Squidward manager was because he could pay Squidward less due to Squidward’s laziness
Still one of my top 10 movies. Saw it in the theater as a kid. And at the age of 27 with a kid of my own, i still love it.
This movie came out 3 days before I was born but loved watching growing up, massive SpongeBob fan. I was waiting for ur reaction to David Hasselhoff, when I was little I just thought he was a random old man 😭
I love everything about this reaction 😂, the Patchy cosplay, the cat, the commentary, all of it is amazing, and shows how much I love this channel 😅😊
It made me way too happy that people recognized it as Motörhead in the background of the bar scene. They parodied one of their own songs, "You'd Better Run".
