I think just from the pure dopamine hit from trudging through so many tours and finally getting an australium (regardless of which), makes them the better of the two. Sure, its also a dopamine hit to unbox an unusual, but actually grinding an earning something of great value feels so much better! Awesome video btw, keep up the good work!

Im so glad I got back into TF2 after almost 10 years. So much high quality content being made by small channels, u deserve so much more subs. Great video!
Problems I had with this video: -Encouraged people to gamble their money when discussing drop rates(though mentioned buying was better) -Was incorrect concerning new unusuals and their effect on the market(said that they were expensive, highly desired, and could be subject to market manipulation) - none of these things are true, most players don't want the new unusuals(at least the effects) because valve doesn't pick new hats and effects well, so the new effects and hats are neither expensive nor highly desired. The point of market manipulation is just wrong, because people keep unboxing and bad actors can usually never get a majority(let alone all) of new hats and effects that are constantly being unboxed
I appreciate your constructive criticism, though I will have to disagree with your first statement. I made this video just to talk about 2 types of items in the game. In this case I talked about how these items can be obtained and that, in my opinion, the risk is not worth it, stating "it's better to just buy them off the market". However people still play MvM and unbox even knowing the risks and that's something I can't control. People do what they want with their money.
I opened my first crate in my 8 years of playing the game, and got an unusual just a few weeks ago. This video was fricking fantastic!! This brought me the good memories from my childhood when i was watching a lot TF2 related videos, thank you for bringing this good ass content, keep it up legend!!
This question is easy for me. Unusuals are by far better in every way. I have played many FPS games with "gold guns" but I've only played one game where my hat can breathe flames and sunbeams.
Aussies are honestly better since unusuals you run the risk of it looking like crap, while the Aussie you know what its gonna look like. Its also much more satisfying due to having to put effort into it with the MVM missions
My current best unusual is my Professional Killstreak Minimal Wear Festivized Cool Brick House Minigun. Unboxed that when I came back from a hiatus and opened my Powerhouse Weapon Cases, and I just so happened to have the KS Kit and Festiviser lying around.
Wow that's nice! I wish we had more war paint unusual effects. I was never into unusual warpaints but I think if I had to get one I'd go for any effect on the brass beast cuz I'm an MvM enjoyer and Heavy main in MvM and because the Brass is an ugly gun imo.
@@terrorist_doge you can pick up most unusual, low tier war paints for 20+ keys, they're pretty cheap tbh. it's the skins from the actual collections or rarer war paints that are stupid.
I think a good thing to include when talking about the percent chances of aussies vs unusuals is the time investment. When gambling for australiums you have to complete at least 3 MvM missions (mecha engine and gear grinder) which can take at least an hour of your time. Unusuals on the other hand are instant, meaning you could open 100 of them in the same time frame and still have plenty of time left over to gawk at the items you've gotten.
Technically the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker has an eye particle effect like the Eyelander, but you’re still right it doesn’t come with an inherent effect
Good observation! I didn't count that tho because all of the swords that collect heads provide the same "unusual" effect for the demoman's eye so if I did talk about it I would include all of them.
As cool as australiums are, there isn't really a way to get or make one one of a kind, to truly make it yours. On top of that unlike any australium weapon, you can just get a strange unusual cosmetic, put it on all your classes, and then regardless of class just smack a cosmetic kills part on it, along with damage dealt and probably something like assists. (By making them truly your own, I mean getting ones that either can't be unboxed any more/with effects that can't be unboxed any more, or if you just want to take the easier approach while having a broader range of unusuals to choose from, "just" buy a univeral spec/pro ks kit and then apply it to it. Regardless I just prefer identity or being easily recognizable over something that looks nice, and is restricted to only one class pretty much. "The person with australium weapon that has x and y" just doesn't sound as interesting or unique as "the person with unusual that has x and y".

Inspecting the ambassador aussie texture you can see inside of the barrel that there is still normal metal, which let me to belive that the biggest parts of were coated in australium and are not made it.
I don't see that as a con. Other players will only be able play with a dropped australium for a little bit but regardless I think that people who can't afford one would have a great time for a little bit.

In trading perspective. Australiums are easier to re-sell than unusual weapons. In uniqueness perspective. Unusual weapons are the one to go in my opinion. I personally choose unusual weapons because there are not many people owning or using unusual weapons but australiums. Which makes me kinda unique from other players. I dont know if Gaben was smiling down upon me or if I just got insanely lucky, but I'll cherish these 2 items forever
I'm super happy for you! Great luck indeed! Enjoy those items :)
nice thing about aussies if you dont have to try and get them, a lot of people play mvm mann up just for the thrill, aussies are like a side benefit
Dope video bro
i just have stranges, but there is still players who take them
the 8 people who hit dislikes are people who lost their unu by gambling

@@Zeleven87 someone gambled their way back to an unusual XD
Really enjoyed the video, I am happy you are part of Australium Gucci Gang and uh
Yeah good video now about that money you owe me ( that was a joke lads )
This is basicly Money vs Fame lmao
I remember geting an australium knife from Two Cities , but its been 25 tours since then lol . Guess I'm unlucky . Good video btw
Thanks :)
Honestly getting just an australium is already really lucky, but good luck on the next one, hope it doesn't take too much more to get it :)
@@terrorist_doge just ended my 39th tour , I got 3 boxes but, no luck . Didnt get anything good. My luck sucks lol
I remember unboxing an unusual when I only played tf2 for 50 hours, it was Unuasal Crack Pot.
Here I thought I was terrible at rocket jumping. Make sure you crouch jump when rocket jumping. Rebind your crouch to c or alt to be able to to it consistently.
You deserve more subs, keep up the great work!
Also I have recently donated some items to you on steam! 10 ref, 3 summer 2023 cosmetic cases, 3 summer warpaint cases, and a vintage jar of piss! (My name is different than it is here lol buts it's still me!) Have a great day!
@@muddog6192 Thank you very much, that's very kind of you :) Likewise!
@@terrorist_doge My pleasure!
Love the drop mechanic, I got to play with a saxxy once and it was awesome :)
Imagine an Australium Gunslinger
Thanks a lot for this great video! I am learning about tf2 and it was so confusing about the cosmetics! 😅
