    I have a 94 LS coupe and I love it. Not because it’s fast, or the unique color, or the comfort of the interior, but because when ppl see it they say “what’s that?”

    I put over 80,000 km on a 91 with a seeping head gasket, it overheated every time I drove it, and it drove exactly the same every day, even it’s last drive to the wrecker when mold saturated the interior. They’re tough as nails in my experience

    I had a '91 Legend Coupe with a manual transmission. I owned it until 1998 and to this day it's the most comfortable car I've ever owned, and I've owned BMWs and Porsches since - it was basically a poor man's Mercedes SL. Watching this video is bringing back some great memories!

    Hako I don't know how old you are but the Acura Legend was the signature drug dealer car in hood when it came out. If you were driving through a bad neighborhood and saw an Acura Legend it probably belonged to a big time drug dealer.

    Gotta be accurate if you're gonna make an ULTIMATE buyer's guide. First off, NOBODY should buy this car UNLESS you are a Legend enthusiast or someone who can fix them because it's topping 30 years old. My '91 coupe is obviously 32 years old by the time of this writing, and yes... I can fix and maintain mine myself. No mechanical or electrical issues whatsoever, just needs a paint job now. Second, the blown head gasket is usually a symptom of a clogged EGR system. It will happen again if you just replace the head gasket without cleaning the carbon from the EGR system. Third, Lexus and Infinity arguably only bested the Legend in HP and torque because the Legend was first, and those companies were playing catch-up. However nobody remembers the Lexus and Infinity offerings like they remember The Legend!! When I speak to people who owned Legends and replaced them prematurely, they usually wish they hadn't!! Lastly, the Legend coupe never had GS trim. The Type II engine with upgraded dual piston brakes were standard on ALL coupes starting from '93 - I'm talking both the L and LS trim. The sedan only got these upgrades in the sedan-exclusive GS trim for '94 and '95. FYI this is my favorite car of all time. I own two of them, a '91 coupe and a '95 coupe. My '91 is my daily driver, gets the best gas mileage of my 5-car fleet, and is the most reliable vehicle I own. I will be rebuilding the engine to stock on my '95, as I bought that with a BHG. Full restoration of both coupes forthcoming!!

  • @ppccpalisadesparkmichigan3416
    @ppccpalisadesparkmichigan3416 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    There is no such thing as a '93-'95 GS Coupe, or a '93-'95 Coupe without the Type II engine. GS Trim was only available on Sedans in '94 and '95, bringing the "Coupe's engine brakes and suspension to the Sedan.

    I had a 1995 TY2 6sp, all the dope boys had them in NYC back in the day. My only gripe is that it wasn't RWD and that's why I didn't keep her around but let me tell you, it's one of my BIGGEST car regrets 18 years later.

    I own and daily drive a Charcoal Granite Metallic coupe from 1991. I'm apparently a celebrity on my block for owning that and a 1995 Silver Metallic coupe. Since I moved to where I live in 2019 I've had about 15 people randomly stop at my house to talk about my Legends, and not just my own neighbors. I will admit that the color selection is not vibrant. However this car was made for wealthy executives and not young supercar fanboys with mainstream tastes, like juvenile Crayola colors, humongous spoilers, stupidly large NC rims, or front-end faces. The colors are premium and the paint lasts a LONG time with just washing. Plus with some tint the charcoal color lends a nice contrast with the darker tint and the brushed aluminum wheels. The competing Infinity was disgusting-looking and the competing Lexus, the 1990 Lexus LS barely matters at all today. Two corrections - every 2-door coupe from 1993-95 had the type II upgrade. The GS sedan was the only 4-door sedan trim to eventually get the type-II upgrades that the coupes already had by default. Type-II is only "rare" because coupes didn't sell well since they were somewhat less practical for family men. The coupe was, however, the more desired, and the flagship car for its years. Secondly the blown headgasket issue is caused by a clogged EGR system, which only happens due to poor maintenance. Change your oil at the proper intervals and you largely avoid this issue altogether. What you wouldn't know unless you owned one is that the build quality is high. With proper maintenance, this car does not break!! My 1991 coupe is the most reliable of my fleet of 5 vehicles, which includes a 2008 MDX, a 2009 Chevy Tracker, and a 2009 Chrysler 300C.

    I’m gonna have to argue with you on this one. The Canterbury green even though duller in color has to be my favorite out of all the colors and the white one probably my least favorite. I think the white makes it look less luxurious if anything 🤨

    I could be wrong, (I frequently am), but I think the headgasket blows because the Electronic Control Module, (ECM) tube gets clogged and puts pressure on the back passenger side of the headgasket. If you replace the headgasket without cleaning the pipe the condition that blew the gasket in the first place continues to exist so it will blow again. Can anyone clarify?

    Homework wasn't done. The BMW and Mercedes both lost tons of sales to the 1st and 2nd generation Legend. On top of that, try finding one of the Benz or Bimmers from the same year still running half as well as the Legendary Legend.
