- This Sherwood Green sedan has seen a lot of love in the last year and a half or so. Finally it is at a point where I can say it's worth of preservation and shows. In this video, I'll walk you through the exterior, interior, engine bay, and trunk. I'll also go down a list of 60 items that were completed as part of the process. Thanks for tuning in!
There were 3 legends in this video. Nicely done - this was a great restore series and ride along the way installments.
Haha, I see what you did there. Thanks!
Man, this is looking so good and bringing so many memories i had with mines (sedan) back in 94. I so hate it got rid of it back 2006.
Maybe one of these days we'll get you into another one!
It looks pretty dam good 😎
Thanks neighbor!
Replace front suspension BALL JOINTS anyway, they may fail at any time
Good call!
Daaamn! I'll take two! Love the coupe, but that sedan is particularly exquisite.
Thank you!
The glory days of Acura.
Definitely
@@TysonHugie
I owned and bought new a 1999 CL coupe….. drove that car >150,000 miles. Great car!!!
It's museum quality, man. Great job!!!
Thank you!
The best Acura ever made
Agreed!
There are some people who have contacted me via TH-cam comments about being possibly interested in the car. I will be listing it for sale in the next month or two. I don't have your contact info, but these names are some of them that I jotted down. @darinsaunders6220 @kimberbell4238 @owequitit @terrykelly8982 - if any of you want this car, send me an email please. My address is listed on the "About" page of my channel. Thank you all.
Why aren't they making cars like these anymore simple lines simple design always stands out. 🔥
Agreed!
This is my all time favorite Acura and in this exact color combo.
I miss the airy and simple cabins of 90s Hondas.
Stunning work!! I had a 92 Vigor GS 5-speed. Miss it every single day!!
Those are great cars!
Acura was truly ahead of time, in my humble opinion. Beautiful car....
Definitely ahead of its time, thank you!
Thank you Tyson for keeping the dream alive!
You bet!
Stellar work as always, my friend. Sherwood Green on Ivory leather is beautiful! Seeing these fraternal twins side by side was amazing. A true labor of love, as you said. You've given both of these cars a new lease on life, especially in an era when they will be appreciated more than they were in the past. I can't believe 1994 was 30 years ago!
Thanks Shervin! Means a lot coming from you!
Timeless design and i love the color! I had an 01 Acura TL the same color....probably one of the best cars I've owned
That's awesome, the TL is a solid platform
Tyson, I absolutely love this Legend. I have a Black 1994 Legend GS, with Black interior, and I am looking to restore my vehicle to the stunning condition that you have with yours. Any suggestions for sources for parts, etc., would be much appreciated.
Thank you. Parts are difficult to find, that's part of why this car took 7 episodes and 1.5 years to restore. I got lucky and had access to parts cars, ebay, and friends who could help out. Keep me posted on what you end up needing. I have lists of where everything came from.
7:40 What a beauty! 14:55
They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. Lots of issues with these newer Made in Ohio over complicated Acuras.
Glad you can relate, thank you!
Ludacris! ❤ If your watching this maybe make a Jay Leno move!
Haha definitely
Nicely done! This video has made me realize that if something ever happens to my gsr sedan, a legend sedan of this spec would be the likely replacement at this point. Beautiful cars, excellent job on the restoration!
Awesome, wow the GS-R sedan is a really rare car.
Tough to restore old Hondas and Acuras because the companys dont support them. All parts are gone.
That’s very true!
I'm dying to own one of these! Timeless perfection!
This car goes up for auction tomorrow at no reserve for 7 days on AutoHunter.com
Amazing dedication and attention to detail Tyson 👏
Thank you!!
The Sherwood sedan has come such a long way from where it was a couple of years ago, the transformation is crazy! Enjoy the finished product for a few months, the eventual new owner is going to have such a good car. Cheers!
Thanks Adam!
Algorithm brought me here.
To me the Legend, especially the gen 1 & 2 coupe are timeless designs.
Thanks for watching!
@@TysonHugie the CL wasn’t bad either
Amazing, well done
Thank you! I'm proud of how it turned out!
Absolutely stunning, this reminds me of my childhood. I would look out the window on the freeway and dream about having a legend, but I never got one. I did have a 3.5 rl(2002) for a while, and I LOVED it. #timecapsule
Awesome, the RL is a really great cruiser
Great video as always. Also quick question, my relative has a '96 RL in relatively poor condition, but according to the vinplate it says it was manufactured in January of 1996. Would this make it rare or uncommon as it was built very early on in the RL's production? Thanks in advance haha
I don’t think so, unfortunately. It’s possible some 1996 models were even built in the end of 1995. What’s the last 5 digits of the VIN?
@@TysonHugie 02682, also its the gold package if that adds anything...
Such an iconic car, in both coupe and sedan design. It was nice to see them displayed in such a familiar location for me. I recognized the Camelback/Echo Canyon area. I used to live in Old Town SDL and often hiked Camelback, even in the summertime ha ha.
Haha yep, good eye!
I always wondered why longitudinal front-wheel orientation wasnt carried to more offerings .. imagine a v8 😮😳😈😈😈😈😈
I know! Pretty odd configuration
I
This intro music sounds like something that would have played back in 1994 😊
That's what I was going for!
Great Work! Honda should have incorporated 4WS on the Acura Legend instead of the prelude.
That would have been awesome
It’s unfortunate, these are front wheel drive. They drive like an Accord V6.
It's a great driving experience
Wow congrats. Will you ever sell it? I miss mi 94 black on black GS. Btw what did the paint restoration cost you?!
Thank you! Yes it's going up for sale. The paint was about $7-8k.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!
Love Love Love! ❤️ Well done Tyson! 👏👏👏
Thanks Penny! See you in a few days!
Seeing these make me want to find my 89 Accord LXi coupe in teal green. But I have never seen or found another in my SPEC because mine had a luggage rack on the trunk. I would love to know what happened to mine after I sold it.
If you can track down the VIN maybe we can see where it ended up via Carfax
Hey Tyson. Met you in Torrance on Saturday at the Honda meet. Our son was talking about his 87 jeep. He would like to get an older Honda to restore. What would you recommend
that parts are more readily available? You mentioned selling one of these Legends. Price?
For sure, I would steer him toward something like an Integra or Prelude because they were so much more common, and parts were often interchangeable with other models. The Legend was more of a rarity and it's getting difficult to keep them on the road. I haven't established a price for this car yet, it's going into the dealership showroom July 21 for 4 weeks, then I will begin contacting the people who are interested. I can keep you posted if you like! Great meeting you and your family.
all the rappers here in Queens NY and the gangsters drive these cars along with the Acura Vigor! It was the car to have in the 90s along with the Jetta Trek edition! Those Jettas were VR6 and lasted a lifetime if they were manual
Oh yeah I remember the Jetta Trek!

I have a lot of videos on this car, please watch them all!
Absolutely beautiful. 93 Acura integra 4 door next? Maybe in White? I’d sell my house for one in this condition
Oooh that would be fun.
Such a beautiful car! Tyson, what do you do if the rubber weather strips are burnt by the sun or torn? Does Honda still manufacture them, or?
Unfortunately nobody makes them. Best bet is to find them from a parts car that has lived in the Pacific Northwest where the climate is so friendly
Fantastic results Tyson! Would you mind going over what you use to clean and maintain the leather?
Well this is brand new leather and I haven't conditioned it but my go-to product is Leather Care from Griot's Garage
Looking pretty good other than the leather fitment on the bolsters It looks pretty good!! And the fitment actually might work out better in the future too
I noticed that, it's just the driver side inboard. Passenger looks good!
It looks like it just rolled off the dealer showroom floor. I enjoyed following along with the progress videos!
Thank you!
I bought the coup in 1995. I couldn't get a loan for the NSX.
That's awesome
Please let me know if you are ever selling a manual transmission Legend. I’d definitely be interested in one of your cars.
Sure, this one will be available
Had a 92 LS coupe. Nice car but didn't handle that good or have great acceleration.
Thanks for watching
Love the color combo ..how did you make the seats look brand new again?
They are totally reupholstered with new leather
Amazing Tyson! Makes my twin GS pale in comparison 😢
Haha we need to get them side by side
I’m gonna try that. If you don’t mind I’ll keep you posted on why I find.
Sounds good!
Congratulations! Looking forward to what is next :)
Me too, thank you!
Beautiful, looking forward to seeing next time in town. 😍🤩🤗
Definitely, please hit me up!
Absolutely amazing restoration of this modern classic! Hopefully, this car will find a good home with an owner who will appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears you put it into it.
Out of curiosity, are there specific parts that are getting more difficult to source as time goes on?
Thanks! Parts wise, yes, anything related to manual transmission components is getting scarce. Also water pumps, speed sensors, actuators, switches. Lots!
my favorite legend wheels. both are beauties but ill take the coupe
Thanks for checking them out
Omg $50k dollars to restore do you even break even in the end after sell? 😮
Well the 50k was for both cars combined. And no I don't expect to break even, I have a range in mind I am thinking I would like to get for the sedan.
I love this car. My dad has the milano red version that he's handing down to me. Just waiting for the day I could get the car repaired, such an amazing car despite its age
That’s awesome!
Ahead of it's time, typo in my previous comment. 🤭
Well said!
Wow! It came in a 6-Speed Manual?! That’s pretty awesome!
Yep just in 1994 and 1995 you could get the Legend GS with a 6-speed manual!
Showroom condition once again, all these years later!
Which reminds me, this one still hasn't been inside Acura of Tempe. Soon!
Excellent work Tyson! Restoring 25 + years Acura is not easy but it can rewarding when the cars come out very good. It proves that there is a market for restoration parts for classic/vintage Japanese cars. With the raise of EVs and Hybrids vehicles along with decline of the manual transmission; the days of fun driving cars look to be numbered.
Well said!
Still woodgrain gripping 😅 sheesh
Thanks!
The Acura King 👑 strikes again. Lookin good bud!
Haha thanks P
What's up, Tyson. Jeff here. Shoot, I'll volunteer to be a co-driver if you're still looking for one! :) Cars look great! One of my absolute favorite colors for this car too. As you remember, the color I want. A visit is long overdue.
Good to hear from you! Yes! We need to get together again.
@@TysonHugie Let's plan on it. I'd like to see the current collection. Unfortunately, like last time, it's hot again. Is there still an opening for co-driver?lol. I was serious about that.
I have a 92 5 speed that needs the same restoration.
Never too late to get started!
I miss the 90s acuras so simple so luxurious and fast as hell. Acura lifestyle get you some❤❤❤❤❤❤
Agreed! Well said
Looks great. Anyone know how I can find Struts for Acura Legend Coupe LS 1993.
I used a brand called PRT
@@TysonHugie I asked my mechanic if he was familiar just today. Too bad Koni no longer makes. But sounds like you trust PRT so I will try to order. Do you have a reliable link handy.👍🏻Thanks
Sorry for the questions. Found PRT but no springs. Do you know if any sources have new springs.
do you know where i can get this manual transmission from? trying to build my own
Maybe find a Legend manual at a salvage yard
@@TysonHugie i checked all the states pick a part inventory sadly theres none :(
Great job. I love the passion.
Thank you!
Both cars look just incredible. So cool to have a coupe and a sedan. Great work!
Thanks John!
When you get ready to sell, where will you post the car? Acurazine?
Right now I'm just keeping a list privately of people who have expressed interest. If you'd like, I will keep you in the loop.
Thanks T. I have a near mint 08 type S manual with 69k on it currently so I am good for now. Thank you though. I still dig your videos.
The coupe is a future 100K car!
Haha, I wish! They are definitely getting really rare
Needs Navigation headunit.
I will let the future owner modify that!
Classically restored. Looking good Tyson. 👍
Thank you sir!
Gorgeous! Can I buy yours?
Yes this is for sale
Amazing work, bro! To be able to have two 6 speed Legends is extremely rare. You are now the official King of Acura Legends.
Haha, thank you!
Oh I understand now that I watched it's gorgeous but insurance would pay pennies if it got hit they suck!! I hope it's covered under something else like classic ins etc ❤❤
It is on a collector insurance policy for agreed value. Most of my cars are.
@@TysonHugie I wanted one of those when I was a kid ..you remember thee gold lettering on them too! Haha
@@TysonHugie we want to buy a fun car like this but I'm use to German stuff and nothing is reasonable now days
HMU if you need a driver
Thanks Wade!
I like your approach and I’m a subscriber from Texas. I like the fact that you restore everything stock even though you go use at the market products or no suspension set up like that but you inspired me to keep my car stock ish but a few mods here there lol but keep doing what you doing Tyson and I know when the sell these cars it has more value and keep the purest buyers happy
Awesome, thank you for the support!
they are beautiful. I still need a full respray on my 95 Civic. Pls. keep me in mind if you let the green GS-R go. That is my dream car along with my Civic.
Definitely, will do! I have considered it
I actually have driven JDM '95 Inspire for several weeks, 5 cyl.20 valve!
Wow, that's awesome! The classic inline-5!
Beautiful man
Thanks Darin!
Beautiful Car
Thank you!
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!
looks so damn good
Thank you!
Legendary
Thank you!
Oh yeah
Thanks!
Amazing your vision. I’m speechless 👌🤫
Thank you so much 😀
Wow....those cars are some of the best ever made.... unlimited potential...good job!!!!....
Thanks! 👍
Incredible transformation! I remember seeing this sedan shortly after you took ownership in the Acura of Peoria parking lot, it has come very a long way on its journey. Congratulations! Still love that coupe too!
Oh that's right! I forgot about that, haha. Yes it was still looking pretty rough back then! Thanks Ian!
Outstanding work of art! in the east coast the coupe was the spec to get its sleek and sexy.. But this GS 6spd type 2 is to close to call! Great job my friend 👏👏👏
Means a lot coming from you, thank you!
The 2nd gen Legend has always been a stunning looking car. Whats more impressive to me is the amount of money you put into these cars. I hope you get some sort of return on it (or close to breaking even), but I'm happy either way that someone is out there saving these gorgeous cars!
In this case I am shooting for a break even but will likely take a hit. The total expenditures is always a shocking number when all is said and done!
13:57 "I can't justify keeping 5 Legends" HAHAHA! Good one!
Haha for reals!
Well done Tyson. I met Edgar in 2018 and seen this car parked at his workplace and Wow what have you done. Amazing ❤
That's awesome, yes I hope he is proud of how it turned out!
GOD! I miss my 1991 Acura Legend LS 4 -door!❤🔥☝🏽💯
They are great cars!
Looking good there Tyson. Fantastic job on the revival of both of those Legend "twins". Seeing the towel on top of the spare to protect the finish underneath the trunk tray was a big indicator! As the saying goes - they don't make 'em like they used to!
Haha yes, I didn't want the trunk liner making contact with the face of the wheel. You notice all the details. :)
This restoration is absolutely remarkable. I always thought this generation Legend with the 6-speed manual was the best option.
Definitely a great combo
Spectacular Tyson! I'm blown away with the final product! All of the effort you put into this restoration definitely shows.
Thanks, that means a lot!
Great video, car looks amazing. Been really enjoying these restoration series videos.
Thanks Mark, I enjoy these kinds of resto projects and I think you do too... even though sometimes they leave us financially very sad. Haha
A legendary car indeed
👍
I want one of these so bad
Thank you!
That Legend is a beauty. An impeccable restoration. The interior is stunning. Love that it is a manual. Great job Tyson...... Reid.
Thank you Reid!
