Nice review as always Mark. Love the Aprilia’s . That is a sexy machine with awesome power. Just wish I could afford one ha ha. I prefer that over the RS660 to be honest. A bit less sporty but with still the same thrill factor. 👍🏻
Fantastic bike, love the middleweight bikes. In forty years never felt the need or have owned anything larger than a 750. Everything about this bike explains why.
Had this bike delivered brand new beginning of October, and it's not been ridden a mile since. Finally managed to get my MOD2 pass today after a very long wait, so to say I'm looking forward to finally riding it is an understatement 😁😎
Hey Mark, me again, the Englishman/Somerset lad, stranded in NZ! Still enjoying your reviews and have decided to put a deposit on this bike, based on your feedback. Funnily enough the local Aprillia dealer is a Yorkshireman who has offered me a nice discount 😀 on a new one. I looked at the MT09 but hate the looks! The Ducati 950 is way too expensive. The CBR650R is only available in NZ in the LAMS Version and derestricting it voids the warranty and is illegal! Anyway looking forward to some summer riding. My last bike was a 2008 cb1300 in 2010! Thanks again Mark for the fantastic reviews and footage of the South West! Geoff
Great review again Mark. I recently got my first big bike and considered this. I didn't ride it but only sat on it . I didn't like the riding position, wasn't sure about the colour schemes for someone older like me and just thought it was too much money for a bike like this. I know there was a recall on some early ones with engine issues. In the end I bought a really nice low mileage Street Triple R and am really pleased with it.
May aswell pay the extra £300 for the factory version, with quick shifter & additional bhp etc. This IS a premium bike imo & so £10,000 isn't a bad price. Very sporty, quick & reliable. Built for fun on A & B roads. A great weekend thrill. Worth the extra money over other mid range bikes.
I would think Aprilia has a winner there, but there's lots of competition in that class. I would love one, that motor sounds lovely! Who needs a 1000? Great video Mark, thorough as always. The problem is you make them sound too good...
Very pricy if you ask me, that is MT09 and Z900 money. Yes, they are perhaps not as exotic (beautiful in this colour, I saw it in the metal and it looks fantastic) but I know where my money would go to and it is not this one, sorry. Nice one Marc, as always.
Another great review Mark - thanks. Like the looks of the Tuono and RS, will bet rest ride organised on both. Both sound fantastic and look as if they’re both a sports tourer riding position, RS a bit sportier. Tuono Factory due soon, so good deals on 3-6 month old models.
There is definitely a price drop for "young" Tunos and if you don't need all the technical gimmicks (which I wouldn't need on normal rides) I think there are some really great offers right now. I am on the verge at this moment 😉... In Germany I could get a new Tuono 660 for less money than the new Yamaha R7 and just a few hundred € more than a Trident 660. If there wasn't the reliability, I would have ordered it already 😄
Excellent review. Just feel you need to try give more low gear pulls to redline so we can gauge the acceleration. You short shift to much mate. But other than that really brilliant reviews. Keep it up mark 🤠
Hello Mark. New to the channel. Thinking to get back back into bikes now that my kids have grown up. I rode a Ducati Pantah 600SL for years when I was young, now 60. It's good to find someone (you) with almost identical physical proportions as myself to help narrow down the selection. Cheers.
Coming from an 2020 MT10, i rode this baby a couple of days ago. I was NOT expecting that form a 660 parallel twin!!! This thing zips through traffic, and then wheelies like there is no tomorrow if you pull hard above 5k. After about 1hour of constant redlines, and wheelies and traffic filtering, i was stunned to notice the trip computer had registered 4.9l/100km or 57.37mpg !!! Imagine what it would do in average commute ! I admit it is priced the same as some 1000cc bikes, but the low consumption, weight and small size, easily compensates for the high price
I like the grey one best. I really like the bars and dash. In fact, I'm coming around to liking what it looks like. Originally, I didn't. No Aprilia dealer where I live, mind. Sounds really good. A 1000 twin would be nice. But really I wish Suzuki would bring out an SV1000. I like a more tractable engine. Another thorough review, Mark.

I'm going to speculate that the industry will sit up & take notice, Aprilia will alot of 660's of various flavors, and 'Service' will be the issue that kills it wonderfulness. Sadly, most Aprilia memories involve missed weekends, deferred gratification occasionally and a broken dealer relationship. Additionally, my dealer also sells Ducati, which would be my next bike. Great review as always Mark. How does it compare with the new Tracer 700 (which I ended up buying From Crescent a few weeks back. They owe you some commission :) ) Is it a more "focused" motorcycle or can you ride it all day like the Tracer? Cheers. Paul
Hi Paul it's definitely got a more focused feel to it ....it kind of eggs you on :) But it can be very civilized and potter along at 50 mph all day with no complaints ....overall a pricey bike but definitely worth it Cheers mark
I also bought the new Tracer 7 a few months back. Are you liking it?I love my Tracer but I'm still looking at the tuono with some admiration.like having a great girlfriend but now and then checking out the woman's beach volleyball, just for the results of course 😅
Crackin that Mark- Wouldn't touch one with a barge-pole for that price with the mt07, trident etc around at lower pricing with arguably better fitments but i'd have to check one our for myself
Hi Mark I’m 5’5 and have a 30 inseam…I currently have a Yamaha R3 and can barely flatfoot it. I’m looking for something similar to this Aprilia, what bike would you suggest me that I can almost flatfoot like the R3?
You can even get an IMU thrown into the £7999 price which I think is brilliant, struggling between this and the 2022 Z650 that I’ve managed to get the dealer to knock down to £6700
@@stevepovey2489 yeah mate they said they would throw it in for free. I think as factory due to come in few months they’re keen to get rid of current stock. I ended up ordering the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 from them today they sorted me out a good deal. Even though Aprilia performance is better and looks better, as it’s my first bike wanted something with good reliability etc. And from a performance side of things on the toad it’s on par with the Tuono.
Sat on this bike today and found it cramped for my 6'2 size. This is hardly mentioned in Tuono 660 reviews I noticed, the peg to seat distance is actually doable ( but by no means roomy of course) but you are leaning forward immediately against the tank, which is right against you and very snug, again something not mentioned in reviews. Its like you lean over the front of the bike. Anyways, love the looks, but for me not a fit.
They did have a batch, so they did an engine trade. That's the way it should be done. No messing around with shop's trying to fix it just give them a compete engine.
Makes a lot more sense than the RS660. I still can't understand a so-called sports bike with a 100hp parallel twin. A half faired bike like this isn't pretending to be a sports bike and suits the engine better. Having said that I've never ridden either, and never will, since I absolutely hate parallel twins having been stupid enough to buy an ER6F.
Thanks for the comment ...I've ridden all types of parallel twins especially the 180 degree crank er6s The 270 crank is a totally different feel ... especially this one ! Highly recommended it Cheers mark
Nice review as always Mark. Love the Aprilia’s . That is a sexy machine with awesome power. Just wish I could afford one ha ha. I prefer that over the RS660 to be honest. A bit less sporty but with still the same thrill factor. 👍🏻

I also bought the new Tracer 7 a few months back. Are you liking it?I love my Tracer but I'm still looking at the tuono with some admiration.like having a great girlfriend but now and then checking out the woman's beach volleyball, just for the results of course 😅
@@punkrockdidi Tracer 7 is great. Just had its first service today. Your perspective on bikes is very true :)
Hi Mark! How tall are you? Thanksss
Hi I'm 5ft 7 170 cm ...you can see me on the bike at the start of the video
Best regards mark
@@markpulling12 yes, indeed! Thank you! I was wandering if the Tuono 660 or the RS 660 would be small for me. I am 184cm , 95kg
Just bought the 660 factory👍🏻
I’m looking for a replacement on my Suzuki gsx s750 due to the weight (about 210kg wet), will I feel a lack of power on this?
Hi no don't think you will....it's a very potent bike highly recommended one of these
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 thank you, will definitely go for a test ride. I’ve got to try and keep up with a superduke and mt-10sp 😂
@@sarahkennard7923 haha no probs at all on one of these ...I'm tempted myself but just bought a speed triple 1050
Best wishes mark
Crackin that Mark- Wouldn't touch one with a barge-pole for that price with the mt07, trident etc around at lower pricing with arguably better fitments but i'd have to check one our for myself
I was super impressed how it handled and performed :)
Great review of a superb bike.
Thanks graham :)
Hoping for a Factory version with Brembo/Ohlins bling. Much like KTM did with the 790, then put out the 890 R shortly after.
Yes that would be great 😊👍
Hi Mark
I’m 5’5 and have a 30 inseam…I currently have a Yamaha R3 and can barely flatfoot it.
I’m looking for something similar to this Aprilia, what bike would you suggest me that I can almost flatfoot like the R3?
Hi Tom try the ninja 650 or cbr650 they are both quite low
Cheers mark
Awesome looking bike
Lovely machine, price is a bit eye watering for me though!
Got a brand new tuono 660 with quick shifter and IMU included for £8400😋 happy
Wow great price definitely needs the quickshifter cheers mark
@@markpulling12 yep got the last one left from last years stock lucky me
Speed Triple 1200 RS will you ever test this motorcycle? :)
I'll try and get a test ride soon 😊
These are available for £7,999 now. That is tempting!
Thanks Steve .. that's a great price :)
@@markpulling12 Kind of changes the game a bit. I have just agreed a deal on a Tracer 7 though :-)
You can even get an IMU thrown into the £7999 price which I think is brilliant, struggling between this and the 2022 Z650 that I’ve managed to get the dealer to knock down to £6700
@@y1m1tf Where is that Colchester?
@@stevepovey2489 yeah mate they said they would throw it in for free. I think as factory due to come in few months they’re keen to get rid of current stock. I ended up ordering the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 from them today they sorted me out a good deal. Even though Aprilia performance is better and looks better, as it’s my first bike wanted something with good reliability etc. And from a performance side of things on the toad it’s on par with the Tuono.
My brain says "lovely bike"
My back, hips, knees and wrists say "ouch !" and " at your age ????"
Haha ...it's quite roomy and comfortable :)
How does it compare to the MT09 SP? I almost bought the Tuono 660 but held out for the the SP. I am absolutely thrilled with it so far.
Hi Mathew ...it handles and brakes just as good as the mt09 and the engine is great for a 660 but the mt09 engine wins !
Cheers mark
Sat on this bike today and found it cramped for my 6'2 size. This is hardly mentioned in Tuono 660 reviews I noticed, the peg to seat distance is actually doable ( but by no means roomy of course) but you are leaning forward immediately against the tank, which is right against you and very snug, again something not mentioned in reviews. Its like you lean over the front of the bike. Anyways, love the looks, but for me not a fit.
I'm not very keen on the red wheels and seat. But at least the wheels are the same colour and not like a crash bodge as on the sports bike.
Thanks Clive it looks stunning in the flesh :)
They are nice Bikes , but I read some have had crankshaft problems, ( cranks were made sub standard) a little off-putting.
They did have a batch, so they did an engine trade. That's the way it should be done. No messing around with shop's trying to fix it just give them a compete engine.
I want one🤙🔥
Thanks me too 🙂
First I was mmmm dont like it, then heard the engine and was like wow and its growing on me looks wise😉
Thanks ....it's so much fun ,,!
Love the looks, but for the life of me I just cannot understand why a bike with this amount of power has such a comprehensive electronics package🤔…
Good point 👍
So much choice you would struggle to buy a bad bike these days
Definitely Ian
200 mile gas range nice
I prefer my Aprilia SR 50R with arrow exhaust
And this one has an actual passenger seat instead of an afterthought ...... :D
Ducati need to chip in with a smaller street fighter
Yes definitely 😊
Suspension looked unbalanced
Makes a lot more sense than the RS660. I still can't understand a so-called sports bike with a 100hp parallel twin. A half faired bike like this isn't pretending to be a sports bike and suits the engine better.
Having said that I've never ridden either, and never will, since I absolutely hate parallel twins having been stupid enough to buy an ER6F.
Thanks for the comment ...I've ridden all types of parallel twins especially the 180 degree crank er6s
The 270 crank is a totally different feel ... especially this one !
Highly recommended it
Cheers mark
Lots of talk of poor midrange
I had read exactly that before I rode it ...but it utterly rips up through the gears and felt it was strong for " only " a 660 cc cheers mark
@@markpulling12 im gonna have to test ride it now!
the front looks terrible
For the price.... New mt09 is a much better bike
