- this may be the most ambitious Definitive remix yet.
i’ve reworked Gold Island from the ground up! volume adjustments, SO MANY new verses, and balancing for ALL 40 monsters to give them their moment to shine!
i had to change up the visual format to account for the fact that there’s 40 monsters and that this remix is over 4 minutes. however, i hope that this video retains the same level of visual information as my other Definitive videos. :)
but that’s about it! stay on the look out for the next Definitive video and my next big upload! ✌️

* NEW and remixed verses

NEW and Remixed Verses
* So many verses to the point where this Definitive remix is twice the length of the original Gold Island. This was done to reduce overall clutter and have a stronger build-up towards the end of the song.
Volume Adjustments
* Adjusted the volume for ALL 40 monsters. You will be able to hear every monster at least ONCE in the song.
* Quieter monsters such as Tweedle, Pummel, Clamble, Thumpies, Shugabush, Epic Wubbox, etc., are better mixed.
* However, more subtle monsters such as Spunge, Scups, Reedling, Blabbit, etc., remain subtle or have a verse to shine in.
Monster Balancing/Redistribution
* Monsters have been moved around to new verses, different verses, or play more throughout the song.
* On the other hand, some monsters hold back playing to allow for build-ups, drops, or so the song could flow better.

Wow, just great. Again, with an island like gold, they really should let the monsters on there have some more time to shine. I mean, I’ve completed gold island myself, and I didn’t even know toe jammer sounds like that on there, so that should really say something.
An update where you could compose the islands to your liking, or just an update where alternate versions of the song are available, is definitely my most wanted update. Because compositions like this really should have a place in the actual game, instead of just something just on TH-cam.

once again, i’m really glad you enjoyed my remix!! while i think it’d be cool for certain islands to be recomposed, i would love for there to simply be alternate versions of each song (which honestly would’ve been a perfect use of the game’s Mirror Islands).
also a side note, i actually “fixed” Toe Jammer in this remix. its actual track has one moment that sounds a bit off-beat when paired with other monsters, intentional or not
@@theoriginalalex Yeah, I completely agree! The mirror islands have no use other than for coin/diamond farming, and lore wise, there could be a super cool reason for why they sing a different song when on the mirror islands.
And I’m not surprised about toe jammers sound, there’s plenty sound of gold island that could use some more work lmao

Honestly, if I made a definitive gold island, I would’ve laid it out like you did.
WARNING: LONG PARAGRAPH INCOMING!
To begin, it starts simple. Just a Mammot, nothing else, but then it slowly builds an instrumental to keep it…less empty. It builds up the song perfectly In my opinion and, in general, is how gold island should be laid out. I love how you didn’t focus on the wubboxes at first and started simple instead, and you added the wubboxes later through the song, which is really handy, since hearing too much of them can be really tiring and overall they make songs too intense to me.
The intense part of the song is perfect. (Verse 17+.) I love how you slowly built up the tension and, soon, it became PERFECTION! The Wubbox being paused for a bit until the ‘peak intense’ part is just…wow! The Fact that most of the monsters you have used in these verses are instrumental monsters, is just amazing since instrumentals are what bring songs together. Instrumentals are basically the song.
The ending…OH I LOVE THE ENDING! The intensity goes down, you know it’s the ending. It slowly loses its chaos, and it starts to become the simple start from the beginning, until we just hear Pom-Pom at the end, doing her line on her own. And that is the song!
Personally my favourite version of gold island…no seriously. It is. Thank you for making this masterpiece,

I like how you rearranged the monsters, my only problem is that the repetitiveness of Epic Wubbox and the structure of his verses with the downtime and changing between forms is mostly lost on this remix. One of the things that made him so great on the vanilla Gold Island is that he builds up anticipation between his forms with the verses he is not singing, leading up to his transformation animation before his next verse. Obviously having him do one verse after another wouldn't really allow this to possible, or allow a smooth transition between forms with the animations (that last part doesn't really matter in this case but it is notable to bring up)
I guess what I'm trying to say is that on the OG Gold Island, the animations, verses and timing all really came together to make a balanced Epic Wubbox, and I don't really feel that here.
very interesting. i was considering have Epic Wubbox play earlier to allow for transition time between verses, but the remix was coming out really long, and it didn’t really fit with the calmer vibe of the build-up. i also wanted to experiment with having them play their tracks in succession because i noticed that a lot of fans didn’t like how little they played or the empty spaces in between transitions.
still, i really appreciate this feedback, and i’ll be keeping it in mind

Listening to this again after watching the last ever video by Abed, who has now left the internet from what I know, I realise that Furcorn, Quibble, Blabbit and Shugabush would work together to create the best and most heartfelt ending possible for this song.

The underuse of Pom-Pom's "Yo Yana" is criminal, especially when Lovebirds, Riff, and some others aren't playing at the same time. It needs that grand, atmosphere filling, end of the world, final battle, finale feeling to it.

I do like this a lot! Very reminiscent of like the soundtrack versions of these islands but more focused on trying to keep it being more akin the the actual game. The only think I’d charge would be the kick around the three minute mark because idk if it’s just me but it feels very bass boosted, but it’s not the end of the world or anything lol. Overall really solid!

Honestly better than the official version considering it doesn't feel unnecessarily overcrowded anywhere and it's as long as a song containing 30+ different sounds needs to be. ^-^
I hope you do this for the DoF songs, especially Continent as I feel it's a bit too overcrowded, especially in the Phangler verses and possibly Thrumble verse too (given you can't hear Pummel at all in the song or poor Tring until the Bisonorus verse that feels too empty by comparison to every other verse, which Tuskski literally has a track for that could help, combined with adding Quibble, Bowgart, Candelavra, Quarrister and Flum Ox to the verse too as I feel they would definitely fit in and work together VERY well for a grand finale to a sort of but not entirely grand song due to poor volume control and overcrowding in certain areas) and Cave Island because I definitely think the chorus should be extended in both times where it plays as to allow the monsters to space apart and have their own times to shine to avoid overcrowding and cluttering, same for the Fwog verses for the sake of a longer badass song and the short verses with Quibble, Riff, Shellbeat and PongPing I feel should separate Riff and PongPing and have the latter play in the second Quibble/Shellbeat duo verse instead of one having four monsters playing and the second only having the default duo, you know what I mean?
But that's entirely up to you to do man.

Adding to the ideas for the definitive edition of Cave Island, the second time the chorus plays and it repeats a second time after that (technically the fourth time it plays altogether), the second time could only have Mammott, Glowl, Barrb and Yelmut (also technically PongPing but then it stops playing after the ⅔ of the verse) playing among vocalists but the 3/3 of the verse would be repeated a second time only without Yelmut or Barrb playing to add a dramatic encore to the chorus before it ends period in the full song.
I was also thinking that Shellbeat deserves a more dramatic and impactful track that plays whenever Glowl and Yelmut play together in the chorus, to really amp up the intensity of the cacophony theme the song has when it goes all out, you know? With more usage of the crash cymbal and louder more rapid drumming.
There could also be a third Quibble/Shellbeat duo verse that plays after the second repeats of the chorus ends, but without Quibble, so a Shellbeat solo, which helps transition into the final verses more smoothly.
That and better volume mixing, like Yelmut being quieter but not TOO quiet that it's not yodeling anymore, just so Glowl is made a bit louder in turn and it balances them out, Barrb and Wynq definitely should be louder given they're hard to hear at all when almost everyone is playing in the chorus verses, Kayna could be a little louder and Mammott too just to stay balanced with Kayna and the verse where Mimic plays shouldn't have PongPing (instead it should be in the first Fwog verse and in a Bisonorus/Flowah duo verse after the first Fwog verse) since it's supposed to have no percussion (including vocal percussion like PongPing) and said verse could be extended to have the real final verse devoid of vocalists aside from Mimic and Flowah's second track playing at the end of the first half (not the second/final half unlike in the previous verse), since I think a mainly instrumental only finale fits Cave Island very well.
Just some last ideas if you want any! ^^

that was actually really good, I do disagree with only having a couple of monsters most of the time in the 2 minutes buildup span but I completely understand it was due to letting monsters shine. I think the last verse shouldve had all monsters that sung on that verse lol.
