      Huh? Chrome has been used in modern decor since way before influencers! Metals can add an exciting energy to a space in a feng shui regard. I would avoid it in the bedroom as it may be too harsh.

    • @patriciacasalrodriguez
      @patriciacasalrodriguez ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to mix it the right way to balance the coldness of metals. If you do it right it looks amazing.

      I thrifted some orange Fritz Hansen « Ant Chair » dupes for basically free. A lot of bargain shops in Europe sell that chair. I dig the chrome legs, I think they add a little dazzle to an ordinary dining table. I think this chair will go in style in 2023.

    Arvin, I found your channel yesterday (so glad that the dearest Mirjam Flatau tagged you in her stories) and I couldn’t stop watching all day, you’re SO helpful you can’t even imagine. I got stuck with my home design for many months now, it’s a new flat all in off-white shade and it looks so boring, very matchy-matchy, even though all the shapes are right it lacks the proper color balance. Through your videos and endless most helpful recommendations i changed my perspective and can really see what to do now, how to add more earthy colors which i love but was afraid to do before. I felt so inspired by you I even ordered my first art piece yesterday. So thank you million times, you’re awesome 🫶🏾

    Oh no, not the Kit Kat! Way too many lines! But the dark moody walls, tone on tone, yes! Amazing cozy organic danish modern chairs! Love! No to chrome, too cold and shiny…unless it is in one small accent. You are such a great host. I would love to see you in your process, decorating a room that needs an update so we can do this in our homes…taking a room from the previous years styles to incorporating the newest so we can actually DO the transitions.

    I am surprised that I like the dark walls & that moody feel. I rem the 70's design. My dad had a large family room added on. It had a catherdral ceiling with wood beams. A white stone fireplace with big log mantel. Red & orange & tan high low shag carpet with black leather furniture & one side of the room had a pool table. All the boys in the neighborhood flocked to our house & my dad loved it. He could keep an eye on his 3 daughters.

All of the other trends you mentioned were very liveable and I really enjoyed the organic Danish modern furniture, especially the arm chairs. Also I added a couple of neutral mid-century style velvet chairs to the space and I really like the contrast. I am happy to know they are on trend.

    Kit Kat tile? 🤯 No way... A cleaning nightmare! Maybe an option is to skip the grout lines and stack them with no spacing... Sorry I will stick with the classics and play with color and accessories to change things up. I love the academia look. This is basically how I have designed my home for like forever... I do still have some areas painted light too... I can get on board with the classic looks of Academia... Rich, dark, moody, dark woods, book shelves, libraries, classic art with gold classic frames, art sculptures, unique antiques, etc.... 😊

    Yay chrome! Chrome and bauhaus are such a nice accent to rustic interiors. Creates a nice juxtaposition of material, period and form. I find myself mixing in chrome and mirrored steel pieces against linens, shags and dark folky antiques. I typically avoid glass top pieces though, which is pretty common with chrome, since you really need the right space and style for them to look chic.
    The round coffee tables are a nice way to break up some of the linearity that happens in a living room. I like the coffee table you bought more than the examples though, the symmetry and less blobby shape make it a little less playful and help ground it. I'm sure you'd like Benoit Viaene's tables, which might have been an inspiration point for Athena, but themselves are not too far off from Axel's.

    I loved some of those “amoeba” looking tables, I might try to diy one for myself! As for the Kit Kat tiles… the vertical ones looked pretty but they’re just not practical with all the cleanup involved 😖

    I want my bathroom tile to be vertical big KitKat tiles in a Moody dark blue colour, with a round bathtub in the middle somewhere with a shower head that hangs from the ceiling. This will be the ultimate spa bathroom. The other one would be stylish, but kinda functional of course

    Another amazing video Arvin! I love all your videos. So informative and helpful. I was wondering if you could share your source for the interesting 3-light wall lighting fixture which looks to be vining up the wall? Thanks for all your help, you're the best!
