Montana do you think that Mabel & Dipper actually make a good team or is she holding him back cause his interested on finding out the truth about Gravity Falls ???
Gotta admit, Stan giving Dipper "the man talk" not knowing it's actually Mabel is hilarious. Also, it's crazy how many blink and you'll miss it clues there are in this episode.
Yeah it’s interesting watching someone else who doesn’t know what happens watching this episode. I always think this episode is quite a deep one and a lot of things happen but they were kind of treating it like it was a normal weekly episode. haha I didn’t realise how much your perspective changes once you’ve watched the show. Spoilers Especially episode 2 and the time travelers pig. Like episode 2 is just kinda sad when rewatching it but also heart warming. And also how much they are saying mguckett deserves Jail 😂😂 I can’t wait to see their reaction. And how bad they feel 😂
"Finally standing up to me"... I think thin line is relevant to episode 19. Shows how Stan wants dipper to toughen up but the problem is that it's Mabel in Dipper's body is the one to hear it.
The foreshadowing in this show is absolutely insane. There are blink-and-you-miss-it moments, and there are also some that make everything click together once you've seen the show the whole way through. Like a moment in this particular episode that seems pretty weird first time through, but is actually a pretty important clue.
MAJOR SPOILERS: There's also the REALLY subtle one that Alex Hirsch himself pointed out in "Between The Pines": one of the things in the secret room is a prism refracting a rainbow, and in the season 1 finale, when Gideon is talking about the Author, within the visualization, there's an ink bottle refracting a rainbow.
Alex Hirsch (show's creator who has a real like fraternal twin sister, so is basically the inspiration for Dipper Pines) said that he wrote the cop characters to be lovers, despite Disney's best efforts to sensor him. So yes, they are very much in love.
@@MattTOB618 in the dvd commentary he said he wanted them to be like a reversed version of the experienced cop and the rookie that keeps messing stuff up. but then he made them into lovers as a natural progression of their dynamic and relationship
I've said it before but I'll elaborate. Everyone canonically has five fingers total. The kids are smaller so it's easier to give them four in most scenes. But in scenes that matter everyone including the ones with the kids have five. Even some scenes with Mable's friends in this episode they have five fingers.
I have to give Stan some respect for how he handles sex education with kids. None of that awkward "birds and the bees" talk so many schools and parents in shows seem terrified to discuss with a child. He sat Dipper/Mabel down with a biology book and went through the key points about not only the process of sex and childbirth, but also the biological reasons behind such physical changes. Sure, they played it for laughs, but I think this direct and honest lesson on sex education is a better approach to the topic that should be addressed more. Kids may not be stupid but they can be prone to making rash decisions without fully considering the consequences, and a budding teenage mind being flooded with hormones and other physical changes only complicates things further. Better to give them the knowledge and tools for such changes early rather than wait until they're already deep into puberty.
Stan taking the glasses and looking at it is one of the biggest details in the show almost with AOT on the outside world kinda wished when they swapped bodies the voice actor and actress has to imitate their voice like Jason Ritter has to imitate Kristen Schaal and vice versa
One of my favorite underrated callbacks is the "Invisible Wizard". Back in _Little Dipper,_ Mabel's trying to figure out how Dipper keeps growing, and she comes to the conclusion that there's "an invisible wizard" in their closet. The credits cryptogram then references this, saying *'THE INVISIBLE WIZARD IS WATCHING'.* Cut to this episode, and as the girls are waking up from their sleepover, Grenda comes out of that same closet, with a bunch of kiss marks on her face, and says, "I don't know what I was kissing in there, but I have _no_ regrets!" (it got cut out of the video, but it's at roughly 3:48)
I love this episode. I grew up with my twin brother sharing a room. And yes it was really fun. And I know that many siblings share bedroom, but with twins is kind of different. Because we spend more time together. I know Alex has a twin sister, and I really like how the team encapsulated the feeling of: "Yes we love each other, but we are sick of each other"
Their hands have as many fingers as will comfortably fit. The characters with smaller hands like most of the kids and the more slender adult characters have four digits. Characters with bigger hands like Grenda and Gideon and a lot of the adults have five digits. I'm not going to say there's no significance to any of the characters hands but there is no significance to that particular detail it's just a stylistic choice
I think every sibling goes through the phrase were they want to have their own rooms. I can definitely understand that feeling. Being able to change bodies would be cool of you had the option to change back. Soos was definitely having the most fun with switching. It seems Stan want Dipper to toughen up.
01:18 Did you know that Michaela Murphy started "tea time with Toph" where she rewatches atla before the live action while drinking special tea? th-cam.com/video/NFGesjnbDU8/w-d-xo.html I've never thought I would be able to rewatch the show with the GREATEST EARTHBENDER in the world herself😍

As someone who is about to watch the original finale for Adventure Time, I would love to see you two get into Adventure Time, especially with how deep the later seasons can get
Interesting you noticed the finger thing. It's mostly a trick in animation, because most of the time character wrists are too thin for a 5 fingered hand. I THINK their stance on it was that "everyone has 5 fingers casually even if they're only drawn with 4." Yeah a fan had asked about this & this is what the creator's comment on it was, here's the question: - "First I just wanna say that you & everyone who has worked on Gravity Falls should feel super proud! The art, writing, and acting all came together for me, and I was instantly hooked! Now for my question! I've noticed that the number of fingers are different depending on the cast. Is that intentional? Normally I would see it as an aesthetic choice, but Dipper's six-fingered book makes it seem like it is intentional for some other cryptic reason!" And here's the answer: - "Thanks man! Ok, this one. In the character design phase the character designers thought that some characters looked better with five fingers and some looked better with four. They were right, the characters do visually look better that way, but we should have been consistent for various reasons. Our bad. Just pretend they all have five."
The finger count discussion reminded me of when I was a kid. I could tell there was a major difference in style and tone between something like Ed, Edd, n Eddy or Hey, Arnold and something like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, but I didn't know what anime was or the difference in country of origin or anything like that. I ended up just calling them "four finger cartoons" and "five finger cartoons" respectively for the longest time.
The kids have one less finger visually by animators choice to make there hands easier to animate but they technically have the full five lore wise within the universe.
I lost it when Stan said it was a time to have a man to man talk about the birds and the bees and explained the pituitary gland! LOL! “he may be little, but he’s got BIIIG plans.” Having seen Jerry Maguire, I cracked up when Stan said, “Shhhh, you had me at ‘shut up old man.’ 😂
2:18 i would love to see you guys react to Adventure Time, its genuinely such a good show. It really grew up through the years with its audience, and it deals with a lot of philisophical and heavy topics further on. Its a good time and i would be excited to see that in the future
I also guess the plot through the first chapters and when it's revealed I put the book down so I've got about a million books where I'm missing the last few chapters
If you haven’t already I think you guys should watch and react to the AMC+ Original, Pantheon, this show is highly underrated and is a brilliant masterpiece.
I know your watchlist is probably extremly long but what are the chances to get you react to Tangled the series? 😍 it is a great show that is a genuine plot expansion and also pretty well written. Might not come to the top like Gravity Falls but it's close 😉 and I mean, Kenny and Montana are literally Eugene and Rapunzel ❤

Kenny disliking Old man Macgucket is the funniest thing in these reactions without a counter
Just wait until they encounter the Blind Eye.
Maybe edit your comment and preface that it’s a spoiler so they don’t accidentally read this

Fun fact: Gravity falls and many other Disney shows had a body swapping episode for Halloween in 2013 I believe.

Yes, the two cops ARE in love. Alex Hirsch wanted to make it more obvious, but wasn't allowed to.

Why does Montana always have the best shirts? I have a friend who needs that DILF shirt.
Kenny wore the same shirt a few episodes back
can't wait for episode 19
The first season doesn't really get into the overall plot; there is a lot more in the next season.
An episode at the lake and a body swapping episode, does this make Gravity Falls an anime?
Wait wouldn’t carpet diem be „carpet the day“ ? 😂
For a “body switching” episode, it’s not the greatest, but it’s good.
Is hogarth named after the boy from Iron Giant
It's actually "Carpet the day" and not "Seize the Carpet".
