Supreme court justices should have term limits. They shouldn’t have life time terms. Also, it should be up to the voters. Not the president. They’ve made it obvious that no one in politics can be trusted anymore.

The Democrats did just recently pass a pro abortion bill in the house, but it had no chance of passing the senate, so you can’t say Democrat lawmakers are doing nothing (the exception being Senator Joe Manchin of course).

On behalf of Ireland, we think you're taking the Jesus stuff more than a bit too far. Our entire country as individuals got to vote on this matter in a public referendum. Only one county of 26 voted no and that was at 51.87%. No freedom or democracy left in the states but these ideas have become such a brand for the US that some people will never see how bad it is now.
Although people still get to vote on this. It's just a state decision instead of people in the judicial branch of the federal government deciding. The decision is more in the people's hands than it used to be. But we're ignoring that because we like to fight with each other instead.

This sounds like a criminal call to action, wanna explain that thought? So many people don't understand what this ruling really meant. It means that the federal government has no say in abortion rights, it gives that decision back to the people. After seeing all the morons in government for the past year and a half I'm not surprised there's far more in the population.

We have been seeing this a lot over the last few years. I see it as a social experiment, they are trying to figure out where the line is and discovering it is really far right, so they get more support for saying the quiet part out loud from their base without getting much negative impact from anywhere else.

I saw the protests yesterday. I’m in a suburban area outside Chicago, heavily conservative. I’ve never seen protests here. They were protesting the right for choice, and as I drove past I couldn’t help but start sobbing. May we have our rights for choice again. To all my fellow woman, I love you.

As an Irish person that grew up living through Ireland for all my 20 years even us Irish are shocked to see what’s happening, our country was know for strict religious beliefs and now we as a republic have come so far, I’m just saddened by this.

@@kpokpojiji as someone who's lived for many years in both America and Europe I can tell you that it isn't a matter of civilisation both are decaying and are hollow husks of their former selves.
I live in Germany and abortion is more restricted than it was in the US under Roe vs Wade but less so than it's now going to be in Texas. You can abort up to 12 weeks or so, and you have to take mandatory counseling.
I love that you're talking about this with the women in your life, but may I suggest that this also becomes a topic of conversation in your conversations with men? :)

Agreed. I feel that pro-choicers are willing to meet half way. I'm pro-abortion which I know would be too controversial, so I am willing to be pro-choice, but pro-lifers don't budge. I'm not pro-baby-killing, because I don't believe it's a baby until it's born.

I noticed he didn't bring up the Loving decision. He is telling everyone else who can marry, and right to decide what to do with their own bodies, but the one decision that allows his marriage, he conveniently forgets to mention. Interesting...
Maybe we should revisit Brown v. Board of Education as well. Imagine telling him where he can or cannot eat, what books he can or can't check out of a library, or where he can sit on a bus.
@@allie5954 Agree...but he specifically sighted cases related to reproduction, birth control and certain marriages that need over turned. Loving was/is all about who you can marry. If you are dealing with reproduction, marriage is a major part of that and the Loving decision has to be apart of the cases to be over turned. Just using the same logic he has shown so far.

I am Pro-Becky who found out at her 20 week anatomy scan that the infant she was so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs.
I am Pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later.
I am Pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to make the impossible decision whether to save her or her unborn child.
I am Pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should of been able to trust and her 11 year old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequences of that betrayal.
I am Pro-Melissa who's working 2 jobs just to make ends meet who has to choose between bringing a other child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her.

OK. So now I'd like to see some international sanctions against USA because of lack of human rights and lack of democracy. That would be just to give some time for the international coalition to gather troops to invade and reestablish... democracy and human rights in those undemocratic states (which were united, not long ago).

What was strange for me is that on the same day this happened in the US, here in Germany the law which forbade so called advertisements for abortions was revoked. Which in effect meant that doctors couldn't freely say publicly that they perform abortions and inform about them.

the US has always had a rather split idea of freeome based off two basic idealogies : freedom from, and freedom to. The GoP is heavily ingrained with the later, that both freedom and 'law and order' are intended to support the strong in their freedom to oppress the weak, that laws are something used to benefit them and constrain others. This is why libertarians tend to come up with such oppressive ideas, they view it as protecting the freedom of the strongest to use their individual power over others, with the idea of the weak being able to band together and have power to be 'anti-freedom'.

The biggest problem with overturning row v wade is the noise. Sixty million babies throwing a victory party in the dumpster behind planned parenthood isn’t exactly quiet. It’s so loud in fact that I can’t hear all the protests over the sound of deleted children celebrating. I’m not really holding it against them. States like Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Utah (who have pre-roe abortion bans) oppose legal abortion by 5-10 percentage points according to 2021 polling from the Public Religion Research Institute. Why force abortion down these states throats?
There wasn't a single state on the poll that supported abortion rights that will be effected by the roe v wade overturn because abortion is a protected right in these states!

In my area, a dem congressperson who voted against (Biden’s agenda, continuing covid aid, for the People measures) was defeated in primary. It’s tough tho, national dems campaigned and spent for the incumbent, local dem officials and others supported the challenger. The problem could be that most democrats try to make everyone happy. They're nice people who are sometimes lazy. While republicans get their agenda done as fast as they can. Even if republicans can't win, they try hard with an aggressive attitude. They know who they're speaking to, and they go for it no matter what. Republicans don't care about the other half of the country, just them. Maybe it's time for dems to do the same.

What has that to do with the price of cheese? Who says that pregnancy is the reason for being murdered? Funny enough there is an Unborn Victims of Violence Act that recognizes an embryo or fetus in utero as a legal victim, if they are injured or killed during the commission of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence which pretty much shows that they have a right, so why not give them the right to not get aborted? What you also completely ignored is that the Death Rate during Pregnancy is extremely low in the hundreds and no States prohibits abortion if the life of the Mother is in stake.
