I’m an LPN and the bathroom isn’t the cry room. Where do you sit? And then someone knocks on the door because they have to go. For crying out loud we just want a private moment to release, and regain ourselves in dignity.
As a nursing student I hit one of the oxygen tank dispersers and I was at a 11 in a scale from 1 to 10. Lol. Ended up having to get checked out by three other nurses and then eventually sent home.
I recently visited a smaller hospital in our large metro area. Of all the hospitals in the area, I always thought of this one as an "also ran"; nothing special. But ... well, this wasn't just a visit. This was a very intense 4 day stay with a family member who eventually ended up in their hospice care and then passed. You never get to know a hospital better than when they become your EVERYTHING for days on end. Let me tell you, this "little hospital that could" was the most incredible place...but what sealed the deal was when I saw their "Champions wall" of all their therapy dogs with mini bios about each. The overnight nurse mentioned that that was just a few of the dogs (few = 30+). And that the hospital has at least 7 dogs that will make rounds each day throughout the floors. She mentioned that it was one of the things they always get compliments on. To say the least, the visiting dogs elevated both the family's and our medical staff's world every time. One last thing, it's so different when you are on the opposite side. You're looking at operations that you know so well, but this time it matters in such a different way. I just want to say God bless every hospital staff member who deals with families in the last days... And especially anyone who works with hospice. I used to wonder how you do it. Now I know that you're angels.
The oxygen regulator on the ceiling in a ambulance is a daily event of hitting ur head on. And it’s rated a F10 which is F bomb and a 10 on pain scale.

As SOON as I walk on the unit I get questions from staff, patients, and EMS. Let me put my bag down!!! And the one about medical shows? Can’t watch them... not entertaining to me, I do it for a living, would rather watch people shooting each other! Love you Nurse Blake... a breath of fresh air, keep them coming, need the humor!!!
The Foley catheter in the coffee made me laugh! I came into ICU One day with a large iced tea in a cup with a straw. I put it on the night table. Next thing you know this pt with an NG tube grabbed it and drank it, and I looked at the collection bottle at the end of his tube an my iced tea was in there!!! he drank it, and NG tube sucked it right back out into the drainage bottle!
I live in Saskatchewan, Canada and 8/12 months of the year you can't see the ground because it's covered with 5 feet of snow and it's -50°c outside, and the other 4 months it's +30°c (summer), +10 or +15° c (fall and spring)
Let's be honest, if nurses got a cry room, they wouldnt be able to use it but managment and administration would hog it instead because their job is much "worse" than a nurse's
It amazes me that as a uneducated teenager, (hoping to go into the medical field/medical research) that these videos are still hilarious to those who aren’t medical professionals. Keep it up :)

Like now instead of our clinical days starting last week they are pushed back til after spring break. Now not only will I have to study for finals we also have 2 days of clinicals OB & Peds.
I hit my head on a Christmas tree attached to a giant refillable O2 tank. I dropped something behind it and bent down to retrieve it, I got up quickly and WHACK! I honestly had to sit down and cry for a couple minutes. Also hematoma. 😭 Hurt to brush my hair for quite a bit.
I hit my head on it my first clinical ever and for a split second, just a split, I thought about quitting school because I knew it would happen more than once (I'm very clumsy) haha
I'm sorry but if you clock in, your clocked in. I work nightshift and I when dayshift comes in, they clock in and get their coffee, their breakfast. 715 comes around and I still havent given report. But when I get there, its only 640, I'm trying to still get my patient info and they come to me and ask "did you clock in, can you clock in now, I really want to leave cuz I'm tired..." 🤬 B**** please!
I interpreted that one differently. I thought the meme was saying as soon as they're clocked in, patients/family&friends/other nurses start asking them questions about the patients that they don't know yet because they literally just clocked in.
You know what's worst then being asked questions as soon as you clock in? Coming in a little early to get settled and getting questions even before clocking in! Mam'm get away from me!
I haven’t hit my head on the O2, yet. But in 1 shift, I hit both upper arms on the holder for the NG canister, once on my left arm and twice on my right arm , in the same spot. The bruises looked like someone had grabbed me. When my charge nurse saw the bruises, she seriously took me aside and asked if someone was hurting me. I told her happened and that I just bruised easily
Yes! After clocking in they even hand you a paper and say “can you get this admission?! Or worse, if you arrive early- “can you clock in now & get this admission?”
HEY NURSE BLAKE!!! I love your energy and spirit. I live in Ontario, Canada. I know this is not a current video...OK!! 1. Night shift at the ER 10/10!! So many times I have had my hair just right and my eyeliner nice, scrubs look neat and then BAM! end of shift my hair starts to take shape of the bouffants I wore, my eyeliner disappeared somehow, my scrubs are disheveled. 2. Cry room 9/10! I would say perhaps we should have a code word instead of cry room, so patients aren't seeing all their nurses lined up to the 'Cry Room' LOL like put a butterfly on it or something! 3. End of shift charting nightmare 5/10. I try to chart as I go (I know I know not always possible) but then if I'm charting it all at the end you know its going to be the worst charting! I'm just doing the bare minimum and going home! 4. Placement hunger games 7/10. 5. You just clocked in 8/10! I just literally tell them "I JUST got here, you know as much as me" i'm referring to the doctors asking me about my patient...I haven't even seen them yet. 6. Foley Starbucks 10/10!! I would do this just to gross people out. We have a nurse who put a propofol label on their coffee tumbler! 7. Every medical show 10/10!! I just can't with all those medical shows, my family hates when I watch with them....I'm like oh god no they're doing it wrong! 8. Pain with wall O2 2/10. I also have never done that...but I have hit my hip off the CRRT hooks. It is painful. 9. Therapy dog 8/10! Yes I love the doggos! With COVID we don't have them anymore :(

We have a “cry room” in my unit, is called “Serenity Room” where we have a bench-bed, heating pad, scent oils, etc.. I guess we’re spoiled heheh 😜
