i was a patient in the hospital and i was in the Heart section of ICU and this young 22 year old nurse, i was her first patient. I was the first patient that she ever put in an IV...She did it perfectly, and i told her to take a picture on her phone and text it to your mom... she did and she said "i did it".....her mom was so proud and happy...
As a 78 year old retiree, I can say the best thing you can do is put the max amount in your 401K and I promise you will never regret it. I also wish to add that it is totally refreshing to see a young person accomplish what you have. I'm sure you parents must be extremely proud of you - and rightfully so. Good luck to you,
Exactly! I was socking a good amount away. When I lost my job after being sick I had to cash it out, and take the tax hit. But we lived on that money for 9 months until I finally was hired again.
@@vwgirlbeth I never said to stop eating. I said it's not the end-all, be-all. The person writing the parent comment thinks they have the answer but when they leave this world, that money can go with them: not one penny. 😂 Spending all one's time on amassing wealth is foolish.
Start right away with saving 10% in your 401k!!Your young and your older self will thank you! Congratulations on your job. I’ve been a nurse for 35 years best decision I ever made! Go get ‘em!

I love when people are into pay transparency! In Missouri, where I live, the new grade pay starts at $29/30. I love that they’re moving up wages for nurses because they deserve it. I wish for a time when nurses can make travel nursing pay as staff nursesn
It’s so funny, i live in LA and the lowest wages I’ve heard of here is $39 an hour for psych nurses. Other specialties tend to scoff at that income. But psych nurses do a lot less, just more responsibility as only charge nurse on the floor. Psych pays way less here, I can’t imagine how much it pays in other less liberal states.
Quick math.... 43 an hour x 1.5 = 64.50$ for overtime, +$20 for shift incentive = $84.50 x 12 hrs = $1014 + $500 shift incentive = $1514 (before taxes) for ONE shift
Love the transparency!! I am currently in my senior year of nursing school (graduate in december🎉) and I have already gotten a job offer with a starting base pay of $45.67 an hour!! So excited for the night shift and weekend differentials!!
I’m almost done with my CNA classes and I’m nervous that I I won’t be able to make it far, I want to be an RN I just need to figure out what to do exactly.
Congrats!!! I’m a teacher and I take home about $1600 every 2 weeks. I used to be a flight attendant and it was about the same. Thanks so much for all you do. An emergency room nurse or ICU nurse sounds completely out of my comfort zone but I’m so glad there are brave women and men who do it!
After three years on a teacher salary, I knew this was not sustainable for me! I've been in the education sphere but outside the classroom for many years now.
@@gigi_enItalie I'm sorry, but it took you three years, after beginning employment, to learn teaching dosen't pay!? I bet you're the same person that wants student loan forgiveness because of a poor degree choice. SMH.
@@Louis-lp7bq Because of these "poor degree choices", we have teachers willing to put up with your littleshits attitudes in public schools. Teacher pay should be higher at a minimum, and I would be all for incentivized student loan re-payment for them....
As an ED nurse, the thing I wish I would have done as a new grad (8 years in now) would have been to IMMEDIATELY initiate 10-15% into your 401k or other retirement account offered. you’ll never miss the money. Good-luck! Great video.
Just wanted to say be very careful about putting anything into a 401k. Back in 2008 the government caused people to lose whatever they had in their 401k's. Had a family member who lost 68,000+ dollars and to this day has never gotten a penny back in return. Look into better long term investment options.
Very smart recommendation. Listened to my Dad and contributed the annual max to my 401k every year for 35 years and had a great nest egg in the end. The market will fluctuate during the years but there are plenty of investment mixes from which to choose and vary your risk levels. At a bare minimum, you should contribute the maximum amount your company would match -- otherwise, you're throwing away free money.
@@TonyEasler Sometimes 401k will only paralyze yourself, but you never know which one will come first, tomorrow or the accident. I like to see the benefits instead of waiting. No one can predict the future
Pay transparency!! I'm so glad the mindset is shifting across the nation. Thank you for sharing. I'm a an education professional currently talking prereqs to apply to nursing school. Trying to get SPECIFIC salaries (as you mentioned) is so tricky.
As someone in his 50s now dealing with an elderly parent whose health is failing, do yourself the biggest favor you possibly can now: get in the habit of saving and investing for the worst times in life, not the best times in life when you imagine yourself retired and on a beach somewhere. You may find yourself set for what remains of YOUR life, but a sick parent or child can wreck those dreams in an instant.
Absolutely loved this video! I'm also a nurse in Oregon and it's so interesting to see how different hospitals pay us: my base is $41.02, night shift dif is $4.95, and weekend is $2.95! We used to have extra shift incentives as well but they stopped it a few months ago. When it was in effect, nurses got a $500 bonus if you picked up a full 12 hour shift, time and a half w/ an added $19.50 on top of base. Congrats on your paycheck Sierra! Keep it up
Hey! may i ask what part of oregon? is the area diversified? i'm about to graduate in 3 weeks and looking to relocate but i want to move to a place that is diverse (I'm African American) and where the pay is also decent
Oh wow!!! I’m a MS student I just started. I’m doing my diploma first then have to go back to get my associates degree but I think I want to go straight in to RN instead
Seems like over kill lol military folks don’t even get paid half that. Remember working 25 hours straight some months 9 days straight. Thank God I got out but military folks need to get a big raise before anyone. Most nurses complain but don’t know what hard work is.
I also live in Oregon and I’m an associate medical laboratory scientist, so essentially a lab nurse. I make 34.16$ plus 2.50$ evening shift differential. I graduated from school five months ago. It’s a really fun job with zero patient interaction, so perfect for people with social anxiety. 😊
@@CinemaDoll137 I got a BS in biology, then I could not find a job after graduating. I got a job at a hospital as a pharmacy technician. I am a “new grad nurse” working in Ohio. I was offered 32.50, but my rate jumped up 34.50 within the first couple weeks. I also work in the OR and once my 6 month orientation is up, I will be put on call and make even a little more (couple bucks sitting at home and time and a half when called in). Absolutely love the OR even if I feel clueless some days 😂
Makes me feel better as an LPN when I hear that I’m making more or the same as new RNs. But I just passed my Hesi a few hours ago!!! RN here I come !!!
God bless you and all nurse's. My baby girl is a New RN getting ready to start her new position. I am so proud of her. This is one of the most valuable field in the world. Nurse's are earthly angels.
That’s insane! Where is that? HCAs (American equivalent is CNA) start at $30 an hour plus differentials. I started at $38 an hour and now make $46 an hour plus differentials and we get $5 an hour extra if we are short staffed, which we pretty much always are 😅
My base pay in NJ in 2002 as a new grad was about $22/hour. Nursing pay has always been very location dependent - larger, more metropolitan areas have much higher rates of pay.
@@msltoe15 in Canada it doesn’t matter, I live in a small town and that was my pay or if I lived up north in a tiny little community I’d get the same as well. As a working PCA at a University Hospital in Ohio, I can't wait to be done with nursing school. This video was super helpful in breaking down the info that so many of us are afraid to ask. Congrats! And with these numbers, it makes me want to move out of state.
Cheers and well done. When I retired from the Navy, becoming a nurse was my plan. I was basically a logistical and computer guy in the military for 20 years. I took night classes for years to obtain the basic Bio 101, AP 102/102, chem, etc, etc. Since my BS was in computers, I needed to get all of my pre-req courses for Nursing School done for the Application Process started. I applied and was accepted. I took one semester at Nursing School with a very nice college. During the winter break which was 4 weeks, I got a computer job to pay for the next round of books ($$$$). However while doing computer stuff, another person I knew offered me a full time computer job. That was a huge thing for me. I earned a B+ in Nursing school, which as you know is very good. Lot's of people when home and had to re-apply to the school because their grades. I really loved the nursing school, the teaching staff and administration was incredible. But, in 1998 the average starting pay was about 15 per hour/day shift. My computer job was 25/hour/part time. So I wrote a letter to the Ph.D Dean of our school and informed her I was leaving the school. She was very nice and really wanted my to stay. You make great friends with the students and staff, so It was like when I retired from the Navy, a sad day. Now moving forward, my computer positions moved me up to over 100K/ year within 8 years leaving. I had to to retire from computer programming. due to a neck injury. But, even though I am older than most, I would love to start that adventure again. Really, loved the way you broke down the pay process. So many folks don't under day, night, weekend or holiday pay schedules. I'm in a retirement age and still get offers for computer jobs, but having watched your video, I might go back to school! The medical field is in short supply and they help 'everyone'. Thanks and the best luck in your future assignments and growth.
So happy I saw your comment. I’m also in the navy and I’ve been thinking about gettting out coming back in as an officer. Maybe I’ll go to nursing school. You should definitely go to school to be a nurse age doesn’t matter when it comes to education.
Congrats! I just started in the ED, last week, and I love it so far! Our wages sound about the same, and I will be working nights, and eves after my residency is over…Great job!
I just started nursing school so I’m nowhere near this point. But as far as overtime. I do know MANY places have another incentive. Even though you are only scheduled for 36 hours, the last four hours of your shift are overtime because you’ve worked over 8 hours in a single shift. So on every 36 hour week you STILL have 12 hours of overtime. Maybe it’s not a common thing in your state though. Congratulations on your journey and I can’t wait to get there
Thank you for doing this video and encouraging all of us to look out for each other by inviting honest and transparent discussions about how much we make. I always hated the secretiveness of many Nurses (especially us older ones )who won't divulge and share this info with fellow Nurses and is a very selfish and self-centered thing to do. Keep up the good work Sierra Lyn and my blessings to all the younger or newer Nurses who are honest about this subject going forward you all deserve the best and gives me hope that the future for Nurses will get better.
When you said you’re hourly rate I about cried. It’s very different in every state!!! For example I am a BSN RN with 4 years of experience making 31.22/hr at an outpatient facility. My sister is a BSN RN in the ER in Alabama with over 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE making only 28.50$. And you’re making $40 with zero experience Crazy. You deserve every penny none of us are paid enough regardless of where you work
Alabama has a very low cost of living, though. It's probably one of the poorest states too. Your sister should be able to save money living there or she can always move.
Yeah that's trash pay for RN. I'm almost $40/hr in the middle of nowhere Texas. I do have a long RT experience but only 18/month BSN. You need to bounce around a few jobs to get 20-30% bump in pay. I personally seen ICU experienced coworkers making 30-31/hr and I was shocked, no way in blue hell would I work as a nurse at that pay scale.
Congrats on your new professional career as an RN! There is such a nursing shortage in our country of nurses so it doesn't surprise me that hospitals and nursing homes are doing all they can to retain nursing staff. I thought about becoming a nurse myself at one point, but the idea of sticking a needle on someone's body was just too much for me 😂Stay with nursing, you obviously seem very passionate about it and that's what matters! I'm in healthcare as well, just not anything with providing direct medical care. I'm and administrator and that works best for me. Thanks for sharing. If your interested in ways to pay off your student loans I know how to do so by still being a nurse. Just FYI.
In Florida, you make $20 per hour as a new grad. You could go work at Costco and get better benefits without all the stress that comes with the nursing job.
Why anyone works in Florida is beyond me or any of those red states lol. Move to california and you can get close to 200k and live in a great area far far nicer than Florida lol
@@billr5842I would take Florida over cali any day. The cost of living in Los Angeles, California is 70.6% more expensive than Orlando, Florida. You would need a salary of $170,571 in Los Angeles, California to maintain the standard of living you have in Orlando, Florida.
Thanks for being honest about wages. I’m a union heavy equipment operator in Oregon and we make on average $45.26 an hour, and time and a half after eight hours with double time on Sunday or holidays. Four year apprenticeship starting at 80% of journeyman wage. I will say this though, our work in Oregon can be hit and miss due to weather. Average yearly income is around 75k to 110k. Congratulations on becoming a nurse!
Hi! Thanks for sharing your base pay as a nurse in Oregon! I’m an LVN in California, I work as an MDS in a skilled nursing facility. I make about $39. I’m almost done with my RN, and in snf, starting pay is about $50-$55 as an RN!
I was so excited to earn a good check my first 5 years because I made the most out of all my friends. However, after about 8 years, they began to move past me, had off weekends and holidays. After 15 years, everyone made more than me. Nurses max out quickly in healthcare. Plan ahead!
so sad to realize how underpaid we are. I am happy you are excited or at least that’s the energy I get. With time you will see how sad this is. Specially after covid this is unacceptable.
ED nurse from Nebraska for the past 5 years, quick tip I wish I knew years ago… if you’re going to pickup and work 8 shifts in a pay period make sure to work 5 shifts in one week and then work 3 the next week. You’ll end up making more this way instead of 4 and 4
Absolutely loved this video and the straight forwardness. I am a nursing student and graduating summer ‘23. This would be a $20 pay upgrade so im excited to see how much money i would be. Thank you so much for mentioning the website link. Also didnt know oregon did taxes like that, big sus.
I am making $41/hour as a new grad ICU nurse. The previous hospital I worked at as a CNA only offered me $35 to stay there as a nurse! It felt like an insult to all of the hard work I put in to become a nurse. I am glad that I did not stick with them.
That's different than what I'm used to. At my hospital you get the differential of whatever the majority of your shift is. So for 7p-7a you get night shift differential for the entire 12 hours since the majority of your shift is 3rd.
I appreciate your transparency. I’m broke and I’ve been broke 😬 school was really expensive. I graduated a week and a half ago. I’ll be an RN in a month or so, as soon as I take the NCLEX. Talking money doesn’t bother me either. I took an ER residency, night shifts. Where I live I’ll start at $38/hr with night differential. Your paycheck kinda scares me, cause I have rent/bills/car/insurance/loans 🥲 I was nervous enough for this ER residency, but the money part makes it worse.
Don’t worry you will be able to make as much as you want. I grind in the winter and work less in the summer. You can always pickup if u need something. 💛
Congratulations... I am a new grad as well and my first paycheck is today... I was shocked at how much money they take away due to taxes.... very similar to yours... thank you for the transparency!!! We got this !!!🙂🙂🙂
I make about 40 an hour in Virginia for an ICU night shift, its def low but tbh i only have my ASN and ZERO experience so it kinda makes up for it. Luckily i plan on only doing this for 2-3 years and going to crna school also cant wait for that overtime! need to finish orientation for it, also gonna work all holidays - 2x pay!
that's awesome. i wanna go to crna school too, i currently have a year left of nursing school! i'm from florida and i've been seeing a varying range of salaries for ICU nurses here so i can't really gauge it. how do you like working night shift in comparison to day?
As a graduate staff nurse in NYS in Albany in 1973 The pay was $4.72 per hour with a $0.20 per hour shift differential. After 6 mos there was a dime raise. An average take home check for 40 hrs. Was approximately $340.00.
As a new grad LPN in Florida, I make $20.60 / hr. I worked the night shift and made about $2 in the differential. I am working dayshift now since I went back to nursing school for my RN, just 2 months after beginning work. I wish I made more because I do almost everything an RN does, but it is only temporary. I did get a $5,5000 bonus (that includes a $2500 relocation bonus) because I had to do a major move when I started working. With that being said, almost $1500 was taken out in taxes, which stinks.
I started at $5.92/hr plus $2/hr night shift differential in 1980 in the ICU. We were not allowed to discuss how much money we made. When I retired 8 years ago I was a sole RN in an 8 physician nephrology practice and making $34/hr. Good luck! And be sure to start saving a little each pay- you’ll appreciate it when it’s retirement time!
@@JamileeJamilee I think it was a reasonable amount back then, I was able to share an apartment with a friend, pay my bills and still have spending money. We went on a couple nice vacations. Things were a lot cheaper back then, I think it was all relative. My parents paid my tuition, so I didn’t have any loans. My total tuition for 33 months (diploma program) was $4000, which included room/board! Nowadays that’s one semester lol.
@@michelegeiger520 very cool! I wish circumstances were still like that today. Or maybe I wish I would have been that generation. By the way, when I graduated nursing school we were also told not to discuss our salaries with colleagues. That was just 10 years ago. How quickly things have changed even since then. Thank you for the fascinating insight into 40+ years ago 🙂
Times have changed. I have been a nurse 40 years this Dec. I started in the ICU in nursing shortage. We had to work 6 week rotating shifts of 8 hours. I had excellent training 3 months of classes and then additional 45 days after 6 months to be a transplant nurse recovering new heart, lung, or heart lung recipients- which sadly is not really happening at this time. My starting base was 9.18 cents/hr in WA state. 1.50 cents evening diff, 2.75 night diff, weekend 3.25/hr. Please do not go into this profession because of the salary alone. The patients will suffer. ALSO keep your work life and personal life in balance. I cannot stress that enough. I was honored to be able to help many patients in my work. TFS and stay blessed.
That's awesome! You guys and gals deserve the pay. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse...I know I could not do it. You seem like a nice person with a good outlook and I am sure that will carry over to your interactions with patients. Good luck in your career! I have been in my career for 28 years and our pay is similar which tells you how long it took me to get there haha.
I feel like that’s such little pay for the work that you do. I’m just a teller at a bank (entry level, no educational requirements) and I started at $20 an hour in Florida. Biweekly pay, I work 30 hours a week and make around $1,100 each paycheck. So I make around $2,200k a month which is half of what you make a month but way less stress and no hard work is involved, also working good hours (8-5pm) I have weekends off and I also have holidays off and they are paid for. I have a bunch of great benefits and accrue so much PTO (Paid Time Off). I can’t believe you guys get paid so little and work such long shifts at terrible hours after all that studying. Kudos to you guys.
I'm a nurse. I enjoyed reading this. Too many nurses focus on the salary. The reward comes from caregiving and from God. No earthly salary can compensate for what we do. God bless you.
But your there Monday-Friday. I’ll love to work 12 hour shifts, only three to four days. I have kids that sound like a dream come true for single mother’s. I’ll work for two companies then hospital then a clinic of some kind. 🎉Studying is not that bad the grades you receive from studying is the benefits. I love seeing my A’s and B’s.
Your video showed up in my feed and I thought it was cool to see the breakdown in pay for someone different in my field. I’m in the technology field and I have about $800 taken from taxes. I get paid salary but if I did the calculation - my gross hourly pay would be $55 but after taxes it nets to about $37. It’s interesting to see the difference. Good luck and I wish you the best in your field! 😊
I recommend going to the IRS withholdings calculator and adjusting how much is taken out of your check. I was paying way too much in taxes and I thought getting a tax return was good. now I'm getting way more in my checks and lowered how much I get during tax time.

You're doing well! I'm a new grad too and I start my second week tomorrow. Same thing with me, I'm in orientation dying of boredom in classes. My pay is way lower: $30.14/hr base, $3.50/hr diff for night shift, and $5.50/hr if it's a weekend. No incentives, but I can get time and a half as well as a sign-on bonus of 15k for a one year contract. I feel like Florida doesn't pay nurses that high as I'm seeing many Floridian nurses make less on average. That's OK though, this pay is literally double my last job's pay with the base pay alone. My first paycheck will be exciting!

That's good. I'm currently a medical assistant instructor and I'm in nursing school. I work 32 hours a week and make about 500 a week after taxes. So it sounds like I am definitely making a better choice for my life. I could barely survive right now if it weren't for my husband lol😂.
That’s actually really good. In 2017, nurses where I worked made significantly less than that even with many years of ICU experience. Some of the clinical ladders to increase pay make it almost impossible after a certain point. A lot of hospitals will pay as little as possible and staff as little as possible. We got several “market raises” because our pay was behind everyone else. The raises are a joke too. Inflation used to be about 2% and our standard raise was 2% so really we weren’t even getting a real raise. I’ve changed careers but it’s nice to see that some of you all are at least getting paid better. Unfortunately, I feel like travel nursing or changing jobs every two years is the best way to make money as an RN because a lot of hospitals don’t take care of their nurses.
what a stingy hospital. just by working nights you should get the full 4.75$ differential. should be compensation enough for the disruption of normal circadian rhythms.
I don't know why I'm watching this as I am not a nurse, i am a homecare worker. Anyway, I'm thankful for the job I have which I only make $15 a hour, although with all the other incentives and overtime I usually bring home/net $2,000. I never thought about doing a job like the one I have now but my husband talked me into trying it. I work the night shift which for my company and the clients we have is a sleeping shift. So when the lady I'm caring for tonight goes to sleep, so do I. I am in college and is a great job especially for college students. I just do my studies here at work. For all you nurses do, you still deserve more than what you got paid
My base as a new grad 5 years ago was 55$ without differential . This is in Ca. Now with experience I make much more . Also keep in mind the incentive pay is great yes . But it’s only offered sometimes and it’s in horrible work conditions , no breaks , no charge etc. so often times nurses don’t even want to pick up because it’s not worth the extra. $700
@aj the wages for nurses period are extremely laughable in 2022z it’s a fight to even negotiate having crisis pay or getting paid more being the increased risk of contracting covid, vax or not at work and bringing it home. 😔
Mind your fucking business if you’re not a nurse this is something you should really sit your ass out on. i am on the receiving end of this conversation so I can’t speak on this.
Great info. It's interesting to hear about your experience in your current local market. As someone who recruits for a for an academic hospital system this is good insight and shows how companies' need to be more competitive in this current climate.
Thanks Sierra. The salary link you shared is very helpful. I did a brief salary comparison of different areas. I live in North Carolina. Most of the hospitals in this area gave across the board wage adjustments based on experience (no certification diffs or BSN diffs) earlier this year. I now know why; they must have been losing nurses to better paying areas (which was ,apparently, almost everywhere). Interesting! My wage increase was huge.
what area you in? Im in the triad and cone, baptist, and novant were all starting at $28 i believe for new grads but novant is the first one ive heard of to offer new grad bonuses
I live in western New York. I graduate in may then start my first job as a graduate nurse in June. My base pay is 35.41 then after I get my license I jump to a base pay of 39.41. I’m so excited! Just have to remember one exam at a time tho!

LPN for 7 years, first year as an RN currently, which is the perfect situation IMO because I learned to live on LPN pay and maintained that standard of living even with these RN paychecks. 50% of my paycheck automatically goes to Robinhood before it even hits my account. I was hitting $750 per week back in the LPN days, now I'm clearing $2000-3000 per week on average with the pay bump, plenty PRN opportunities, OT, etc.

I just started nursing school so I’m nowhere near this point. But as far as overtime. I do know MANY places have another incentive. Even though you are only scheduled for 36 hours, the last four hours of your shift are overtime because you’ve worked over 8 hours in a single shift. For those who don’t know, OT is calculated before shift differential is added.
As a graduate staff nurse in NYS in Albany in 1973 The pay was $4.72 per hour with a $0.20 per hour shift differential. After 6 mos there was a dime raise. An average take home check for 40 hrs. Was approximately $340.00.
Nurses used to be payed $4/hr in the 70s?! Oh my goodness how?
And be sure to start saving a little each pay- you’ll appreciate it when it’s retirement time!

I’ll work for two companies then hospital then a clinic of some kind. 🎉Studying is not that bad the grades you receive from studying is the benefits. I love seeing my A’s and B’s.
Thank you for your honest transparency. ppl are so afraid of this.
Thank you for sharing!
I recommend going to the IRS withholdings calculator and adjusting how much is taken out of your check. I was paying way too much in taxes and I thought getting a tax return was good. now I'm getting way more in my checks and lowered how much I get during tax time.
Thank you for sharing w us. I’m in the process applying for nursing school.
Nice! Oregon State Hospital starts at $45/ hour, and nothing beats State benefits either!
Thank you Sierra! I’m currently in my last semester of nursing school and I’m currently doing my practicum in ED, so this very helpful knowing pay salary that my future grad RN pay!! I can’t wait 🎉
Have you been struggling with NCLEX be it LPN or RN, have you taken the exam for more than once? Are you taking it for the first time? Do you have a too busy schedule to study? Get to Dr Needham for your NCLEX assistance
Enjoy your last semester, it's going to fly by! So happy for you!
My daughter is a RN about to finish Master's Degree, You will earn every dollar and it's still not what it should be....Thanks for becoming a Nurse.
you are so real for this
Oh, that smile before burn out.
Congratulations, Luis, on being a Graduate R.N.👨🎓~What an
exciting time in your life and sending many PRAYers and best WISHes as an amazing new chapter begins for you tomorrow🌠!! Plus, that fantastic first paycheck will be a special time for CELEBRATING🎉:)
My Sweetest Mama was also a Registered Nurse~It takes a really compassionate person, like YOU, to devote a career in caring for others❤...
That's good. I'm currently a medical assistant instructor and I'm in nursing school. I work 32 hours a week and make about 500 a week after taxes. So it sounds like I am definitely making a better choice for my life. I could barely survive right now if it weren't for my husband lol😂.
Thank you for your service, proud of you. Keep the grind going
Yes! My hospital pays 4.50 night diff plus additional 4.00 for weekends.
@@Angelina-mw6zu oh then, thats not too bad. so weekends are additional 9.50. nice!
Where in ca do you live ?
hi laura, what part of CA?
I'm glad you were kind enough to shed some much needed light on wages. Thank you and God Bless 🧡 Texas
This was so informative! Thank you so much for sharing. Best of luck to you at your new job ❤
Thank you!!🤍
Being a Nurse in 2023 America can be a Tough Gig. Good Luck in your Endeavor.
Still not enough money considering what you do. Congrats on surviving nursing school. You’ll do great!
Thank you so much!
I make $26 as a new grad nurse🙃
@aj the wages for nurses period are extremely laughable in 2022z it’s a fight to even negotiate having crisis pay or getting paid more being the increased risk of contracting covid, vax or not at work and bringing it home. 😔
They get paid more than enough. Don't be greedy.
Mind your fucking business if you’re not a nurse this is something you should really sit your ass out on. i am on the receiving end of this conversation so I can’t speak on this.
Love the transparency and your outlook. You have an amazing sweet personality.
you are glowing in this video!!! i love your pink scrubs 💗😊
Thank you girly!✨🤍
I was the literal worst high school student but I am will do whatever it takes to get to this position. I'm 23 now so I have time.
Dude I am in the same position and age. We got this
graduating in april! thank you for this.
So close!! Happy for you!
Great info. It's interesting to hear about your experience in your current local market. As someone who recruits for a for an academic hospital system this is good insight and shows how companies' need to be more competitive in this current climate.
I just love you!!!!! 💜💜💜
Thank you for keeping us so motivated and inspired ☺️☺️
🤍🤍🤍
Hi sierra Lyn...
Thank you for posting this! I have two semesters left in nursing school
YAY!!
This is the first video of yours i ran across and then i find out you’re in Oregon too!
Pay tip! It’s only ever worth 1 extra shift per pay period. After that it bumps you into the next tax bracket and you’ll get less in your check.
Really appreciate the transparency and think there needs to be more of it
👏
I live in western New York. I graduate in may then start my first job as a graduate nurse in June. My base pay is 35.41 then after I get my license I jump to a base pay of 39.41. I’m so excited! Just have to remember one exam at a time tho!
That is bad considering the price of living in New York
@@AHMessentialsAnsara cost if living where I’m at is not expensive. I’m not in New York City. I’m near the pa border which is grape growing country. I’m an hour from Buffalo and I will make more than the nurses there.
When I graduated in 1993, my base pay was $12.00/hr. Ugh...I was in the great state of NC.
I went from LPN to BSN,RN and my pay went from $35/hr to $47/hr. So worth it.
what State is this in?
What state and was this a big city?
