Thanks Louis. By far, this repair was one of the best you've done because you explained everything so nicely and it was really imformative. Know that repairs are not as appealling as your other videos but for us the few we really appreciate it. BIG thanks and i hope you'll have a GREAT day!❤
I brought my iMac into a place here in town and asked if they knew you. Me, too, thought this was going to be a lecture about how, in 1989, their efforts to *hide* or *close* the architecture of their products, was not as advanced or pernicious as they are today, and thus, it was going to be very easy to repair.
Big thanks for showing the workflow and methods in such detail. I somehow find it comforting to see you work and talk about it. The auey test looked familiar to me. I get that far at least,...

I liked the classic fix video and also the thoughts about somebody considered genius just because he can do something i can't. Way to go, Louis. Lately I've fixed my electric stove and even the main board (PCB) of my gas boiler/furnace. It was cheaper than calling a technician, quicker, but the best part? Being proud of my work and seeing that my wife is proud of me, too. Thanks for your videos! And yes, I did learn something. Quite a lot, actually.
Tell me about it, I’m a mechanical engineer. The only way I can understand electronics is if it’s expressed in terms of fluid dynamics. Best analogy is always to compare electrical systems to a closed thermodynamic system, just treat the voltage as mass and current as flow rate.

Louis, I fucking love you. I had the exact same issue so i followed every single step, I was missing one piece of equipment though, a lab psu or a voltage injection tool. So I thought to myself "what would Louis do?" and soldered a crocodile clamp and a cable to a 1.5V AA Battery. Found the short, removed the cap. Greetings from Germany!

why that cap burn? quality issue?
