There was one really early exchange - might even have been first season - when John was trying a new bit of equipment and when Phil asked what it was and John explained, Phil said 'You're 'avin me on, that looks like something I'd 'ave in me bathroom and 'ang me towels on!'.
John had many rivals. I can remember on the Pickett Farm video when he was arguing with someone over where the centre of the house was going to be. "Not a. chance" I remember him saying before storming off to prove his point. Always laugh when him or Phil are riled up
These two were always such fun yet gentlemanly quibblers. I hope that Phil is able to find some time amongst his workload to show up in an episode of a future dig. Thanks for sharing this funny compilation.
@@benediktmorak4409 He can't dig, as far as I recall, but he could appear as a guest. A bit of running commentary on the progress of a dig, sat next to Tony and the Mick Aston doll, could be done tastefully yet still be amusing.
@@sturoe7361 looks like you are not the only one who would like Phil back. But from the looks of it, Phil without digging and sitting in a chair commenting, would be like Sir Tony Robinson without his - and we only have 3 days to find out -... But, like in the James Bond Film - never say never-...
Loved this compilation. Can we do a Phil & Tony banter next. Then one of all the times Tony cracked Mick up. Loved the tribute to Victor too. Check it out.. What an amazing artist.
I'd love to see a special titled "Stewart/John was right!" They get a lot of ribbing from the diggers, Stewart in particular, but his ideas from scanning the landscape do often come out as correct interpretations. Not always, but often!
What made this program entertaining was always the personalities working together.

Two of my favourites. I always enjoyed their light-hearted ribbing!

How did the plunge pool argument not make this list? That's what I wanna know.
Such riveting banter, They're such lads
Love these three guys! They are the best! ❤

Such a great show
Love these adventures.
I agree. They ALWAYS worked together!
Even though they were BOTH 'black sheep ' But yet..they banter together compete for that trophy lol
i miss the old team, watching these is like looking at photos of relatives gathered at past events.
never thought id miss strangers so much
U gotta watch the new digs. They are no longer strangers. They are all amazing teachers, in their own way.
@@thesilentfuzz im a patreon i watch everything.
you didnt understand what i meant.
They really need to get Phil back as a guest ,just for enthusiasm if nothing else.
Most definitely. The new ones are just not good without Phil.
@@deborahparham3783 even if he wanted, I don't think he can anymore...
@@benediktmorak4409 not to dig ,just to comment, bit like Mick used to do .

Love them both. Yes, they need Phil back to comment. His positivity is infectious.
Well done getting the Hopback Brewery into the thumbnail

Thank you! I love Time Team and sure miss Mick❤️
Penny was the BEST home owner guest!
What ep was she on? I remember her but can’t remember which one she was in.
Phil and John must be so bored without each other around to rib.
John still has Stewart! ;)
❤❤❤Phil
Mick! 😍
Need phil back in the new one along with Tony.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mind your knees
What can o' pee are they talking about😂
Heh.
I still love PHIL! John is completely forgettable!
Phil for the win, every time, as far as I am concerned. I liked what geo-fizz could do, but I could have done without Gater.
Phil always came over as a bit of a prick. Lord knows what he was like when the cameras weren't on him.
