Van Gogh’s blue bowl - Woodturning an all epoxy bowl from a silicone mold

- Welcome back! In this video I cast an epoxy bowl from the silicone mold from the last video and do some woodturning, or not wood... epoxy turning! This video is the final of the silicone epoxy bowl mold video I posted last week.
Total amount of epoxy used to pour this bowl was 2.75L. I went with the Alumilite amazing clear since this was a learning process, or lets see how it does project. I used it since it has a longer pot life at 30 mins and is FDA approved for food contact, just not alcohol. And of course I used my Eye Candy mica powder, have always had excellent results with it.
It really came out better than I had even imagined. Wet sanding and buffing isn't a favorite of mine but it's just part of the progress.

Well the problem with selling them is the cost of material and tie. It takes to make them. I went too big on this mold and it cost me more than I had planned. Or maybe the problem is my pressure pot is too small 🧐🤔😉. Have something else brewing behind the scenes.

How much putty did it take?
Was is it able to fit in pressure pot?

Yes it was able to fit, but barely. I think I used about 2lbs of the putty but then had to go back with a bunch of regular poured silicone. It’s a fun hobby to get into, but like all hobbies, they get expensive!

Once I got it smoothed out I crunk it up to 2,000 rpm and it ran just fine.
