    I picked up one of these during the Woodwind and Brasswind early "preorder" promo that they ran a while ago. I had bee playing a Meyer 8M for years and liked the sound I was getting, but I was getting fatigued from the large facing. I got a 7 in the Theo Wanne and I LOVE IT!!! it does everything I want it to. Altissimo pops and sounds GREAT! I would highly recommend them.

      +Cornelius Campbell Hi, Greg was one of the first players to try the new NY Bros Alto. He kept it, and plays it as his regular piece. He s using an 8.

    Lovely explanation and thanks. There are quite a few NYbros reps out there but I can only guess yours must be a top one. Do you have a Dutch reseller? Very much interested in a 5. I'm now playing on a vintage greenish thingy, no idea of the brand. I've stored my M6 modern Meyer because it's way too loud for my liking and I'm not playing 1st alto anymore ;) Thx.

      Hello Albert, you can find the NY Bros at De Saxofoonwinkel and at SaxCompany in Netherlands.

    what is the difference between this piece vs the Gaia????? looking at some of your pieces.. vinny

    • @TheowanneMouthpieces
      @TheowanneMouthpieces  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Vincent Gaglio the GAIA is a large chamber piece, and the NY Bros is a medium chamber. Your will find the GAIA has more body to the sound, and is a very small amount brighter.
      In addition, the NY Bros is made from Harry Hartmann's Fiberrod™, whereas the GAIA is made from vintage Hard Rubber.

      So the Gaia is for a better player. I've been playing a year now. ???

      +TheoWanne So the GAIA is brighter? I thought it would be darker because of the bigger chamber.

      +AsianStyleGuy Hi, the GAIA2 has a more full, complex sound than the NY Bros. While "darker" and "brighter" are subjective terms, we can definitely say that the GAIA2 has a more spread sound with more flexibility.

      Sir whats the original opening of a #5 bro piece?

      Hi, many people believe the vintage Meyer Bros. mouthpieces measured smaller than currently made ones. However, in my experience after working with many original Meyer Bros. mouthpieces, I have found them to be consistent. So a size 5 Meyer Bros. measured the same as a current Meyer 5, which is 0.071". I hope this helps:)
