Ps6 is less than 3 years out. At that point this 700 dollar console is valueless.

im predicting this is gonna extend the life cycle. i think they're going for what happened with the ps3. it was $500/600 depending on the gb. sony was losing money at first not just due to sales and xbox popularity but also because the hardware was expensive. by 2009 it was 300 and they were finally making money on it. 2009 was the "reboot" year for playstation since the ps2 popularity.
I hope it really makes better PSVR2 games with the PS5 PRO. If not well I am not buying it.

I would buy a PS5 Pro for $700 how many people buying a Asus ROG Ally X, Steam Deck OLED, and Legion Go that cost more but, yet offer horrible performance. This PS5 Pro will make every PS5 game play and look much better. It actually offers a legit upgrade in performance compared to these consoles I just mentioned which all cost more.
Brother thats a MOBILE CONSOLE that can play PC games. Thats nowhere near the same in terms of comparison.
@MartydudeVR All Mobile Hand Held consoles is basically a Nintendo Switch, just able to play PC games in Low to Medium settings.
Steam Deck wasn't the first to come up with this concept. But, they sure act like they did.
The PS5 Pro is a gaming console made for your home. If you want it to be mobile, you could get a PS portal.
My comparison is about the price! You can get higher quality gaming for cheaper buying a PS5 Pro. These are 💯 facts.
I'm not surprised considering VR is a very small niche. With the PS5 Pro costing $700 already, no one is going to then buy a $500 headset to only use it once or twice. That'll total up too $1200.
I think the PSVR2 wasn't profitable as much as Sony hoped it would have been, so it makes sense on why Sony wouldn't really care or notice it all too much. Sadly, until VR gets into mainstream, we're still in the experimental phase of VR and it won't get as much love.
And no disc drive
These are the same guys that they have shuted down an 8 year development game concord in a week, and we think they wil care about vr? They didn't even mention that ps5 pro will improve psvr 2 because they dont care , pay 700 for extra sharpness? What a joke.

I hate to hear you sound this way but you're saying everything I'm feeling about Sony over the last couple years. Astrobot no VR, PSVR2 PC adapter issues no support, it's like they make decisions thinking that people will support Sony just for their name and truth be told for a long time we did, but that's because we trusted them. I feel you, a PC is the way to go, I got in years ago but kept in consoles too for exclusives, barely getting those anymore, Wukong I got on PC. I wanted to consider PS5 Pro for PSVR2 enhancements but for them to not even mention it is like an extra Astrobot slap in the face. I'd like to say I'm disappointed but truth is I'm not surprised anymore by Sony.
PS5 generation is wack. There’s no way I’m upgrading for 700 especially since they barely mentioned VR at all. If anything, this upgrade would benefit VR the most since it would allow more games to run without reprojection.

PSVR2 will get it as an afterthought...but how much time will it take? You know what is strange? The PS5 PRO is targeting at enthusiasts, especially at that price tag....and which type of players are using the VR2? It is sad.

Sorry but the PS5 Pro does NOT double the power of the PS5, that's what makes it poor value, given it has the exact same aging CPU from 4 years ago and just an update on GPU specs and also unified memory, you're getting maybe a 40 ~ 45% boost. That's not double the power, far from.
it's a totally useless and not necessary product by Sony, what's the point of this? a higher price tag for something that is slightly more powerful specs with less features and does practically the same thing as the original PS5 that cost less and has a disc drive, the PSVR2 is better suited for a PC at this point, that has been pretty abundantly clear by now, since Sony has done such a half ass job with the very minimal content for VR games on the PSVR2 for the PS5, honestly for the money, you're better off with a wireless Quest 3 paired with a decent gaming PC for playing VR games

I love the memes flying around putting the PS5 Pro in the PS3 price reveal. Arrogant post PS2 PlayStation is back. The sad part is that if this console was reasonably priced I would actually be singing it's praises. I was initially impressed. Then I saw all of the caveats and said welp. There went that.

Sony is doing a lot for vr by just being active in vr. Without sony vr would be in a terrible place, really need Nintendo or Xbox to join in too as meta and Sony need more competition.

@@derschnuff8819 plenty of games on way from Oct to Dec, too much to play. Pro is optional, wait for an inevitable sale on days of play. Meta are all in on vr and only have two games in a year batman and hitman. People just let their expectations get the best of them and are always looking for the next game rather than enjoying what they have.
