  • After rebuilding the 1990 Porsche 911 964 C2, the new wheels are finally going on.
It's been a long time coming, lusting over a 964 since high school, you reach a point where you just have to have it....I reached that point in 2018, and after a long search for the right spec, I found a car in the UK, imported it to Australia, and started the rebuild.
With the car now on the road and pretty sorted, it's time for the new wheels.
With a shortlist of 3, including the BETA Turbo Twists, Cup 1s, or the BBS, I'm glad I jumped in and placed this order....I've wanted a set of these since I was old enough to want wheels, it was an easy choice in the end.
Agonising over colour to suit the Stone Grey Metallic on the 911, I think it was the right choice. Very excited to finally get these mounted on the car, dial in the geometry and enjoy with the tail of summer.
My goal here was to maxmisise the rim depth front and back, maximise the tyre width, and had absolutely zero appetite for any rubbing what-so-ever.
There's nothing worse than waiting for rub, it completely kills the enjoyment for me. I wanted a flush fitment, with no spacers, and with no tyre poke, and had a little more room upfront as the car already has rolled guards.
Lots of advice received on barrel and rim split options, offset front and rear and tyre specs to get the fitment right. Shout out to @lastrasp for his help on the way through with offset, and Evolve40 on Rennlist for final rim configuration, great advice gents, many thanks....
Next comes interior, then finally paint.
More content on the 911 to come...

I like the D90 speed lines originally from Porsche also very much, what did you do with them ?

I agree, they’re a beautiful wheel, I’m not planning on parting with them, I plan to have them straightened and refinished properly, the tyres have plenty of life in them, so will run them as a touring/second set…

Just curious what camber you are running?

Any rubbing? I'm looking to get the same wheels and tires.

Only minor front rub RHS on full lock if hitting uneaten ground at low speeds doing uturn…and with it slammed on the V3s…I’m running it pretty low now, exactly 635mm front ground to guard at 32PSI…1.5 neg degrees camber, raise it 10mm no probs, but it looks amazing now😂
