- This is a handmade walking stick that was made about 6 years ago. The owner had cut it himself and had finished it in a gloss varnish. The owner requested that the cane be stripped of the remaining bark and stained to a walnut satin finish.
Thanks for watching. Please let me know what you think or if you have any questions.

Lovely job; the walnut finish is beautiful, deep and shiny! Great cat, too!
Thank you Mags! The colour really comes out when you apply the final varnish also. I will let Han’s know! Cheers 👍😺
Color looks great, nice improvement!
Thank you! Took a couple of coats but it’s worth it 👍 give it a try if your not happy with the colour.
Bello quel bastone da passeggio, bel restauro, complimenti amico mio e non far mangiare troppo Hans che è in perfetta forma, alla prossima 👍👍👍👍👍🐱👋👋
Very much appreciated as always my friend. Yes I have to keep his food out of sight as he is a bit of a glutton 😂. Hans is on a 3 meal a day schedule. How many times does Stella eat durning a day? Hope your having a great month, see you next time buddy 👍👍👍🙂😺
Nice job and great finish. I'm now building lowly saw horses.
Thanks Don! Nothing wrong with a good old saw horse. Id actually like to build a couple, if you have a good method it would be very much appreciated. Thanks again buddy. 👍🙂😺
Nicely done. I could not make out what you did on the tip where the rubber cushion was located.
Cheers Dwight. I ordered a proper rubber sleeve for the bottom. However I glued a piece of rubber to the bottom just so the walking stick can be used in the mean time. 👍
What kind of wood is it? The natural color after stripping looked so soft and pale yellow, I think I liked it better than dark. But the dark is nice, too.
Not sure exactly what the wood is as it was cut from the owners backyard. Could be either a hibiscus due to the light coloured bark or a native Australian tree. Yes the pale yellow was quite surprising. It was a dense non absorbent wood. I Appreciate the comment and watch 👍😺🙂
Fun-tastic ! But if non absorbent how did it get so dark from that 1st coat 4:15, then 4:40 🤔 thanks 👍
