      Great video. I have the same rifle but mine is the octagonal barrel Ltd version wth a 24" barrel. It's a 2002 model and is totally original. I was thinking of putting skinner peep sights on it but am unsure if I should. Would this de-value it. I know these rifles are becoming very collectable. What's your opinion?

      Any good 44 mag rifle that is good is awesome. I love the caliber for hunting. I paid it with my Ruger super Blackhawk hunter 44. They fill my freezer every year with deer meat. 240 grn hard cast lead gas checked. . 430 dia. Atop imr 4227 . They should completely through deer and. Bear. I love 44 mag. Awsome video. God bless. Nevada looks beautiful. Do you hunt the desert.

    I happened upon one of the ported 16 inch barreled Marlin 1894s in .44 mag/.44 spl when they first came out. It had a beautiful stock and forend with some curly grain. I plunked down my money instantly and have enjoyed that rifle immensely since. It's one of the last ones I'll ever let go of.

    That is one gorgeous lever action rifle. I want a .44 mag like it now. Seems like a super powerful round and rifle combo, coming outta that muzzle.

    • @jeremy74pow
      @jeremy74pow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would go with Marlin. I have an older 357 that shoots and ejects any 38 or 357 round I put in it. My friends Henry is picky with ammo and don't work with most 38s and had to send it back and it still don't work right. With ammo being hard to get and not many options available sometimes you have go with what shoots whatever is available.

I happened to walk in the Hawks Prairie Washington Cabela's and got the last Marlin made stainless 30-30 in their entire us inventory ,it is a tack driver! I have the same rifle but with std rifling as opposed to the micro groove. Bought it new 16 years ago and it shoots better than new now its nicely worn in. Sadly only for range use here in the UK. Tim

    Great rifle. Got a new one in .44 mag last year. Had it slicked up by Ranger Point Precision, and put Skinner peep sight on it. Well worth the extra cost. A true tack driver that is a blast to shoot. Love it like my Win 92 and Win 94 in .45 Colt. Love lever action rifles!

      Ted how would you describe the difference in reliability/performance/cost of ownership between Your winchesters and Marlin? I can't decide. I just want one lever gun

    it certainly is a very nice rifle. i couldn't agree more about that. doesn't matter to me if they are marlin or winchester - i like'em both and i like'em in pistol cartridge or rifle cartridge. that rifle you have looks like a keeper to me as far as i can tell. rifles like that i don't let go of. i like that in .44MAG. dang nice rifle - hit liked!

    I have the 1894. Mine has the safety button you mentioned. It is equipped with a 4x post reticle telescopic sight mounted on see through mounts. It’s my favorite firearm.

    Tuesday just got a little better! Glad to see new videos, and that river/stream is so beautiful! It was admittedly refreshing that you didn't feel the need to rehash the old vs new Marlin banter. It's been done to death, but I can appreciate the no safety though ;-)

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, I didn't want to get into the old/new Marlin debate which is why I only mentioned the safety and the year my rifle was made. I have waited a long time to use that stream and bridge in one of my videos and since I was in the area I pulled out the rifle, tripod and turned on the camera :>)

      It's amazing, you essentially live in a postcard :). Spring turkey season opened here last Saturday, so I thankfully got a little dose of outdoors before coming back to the realities of bay area living

    Another Enjoyable video 👍! They use to manufacture them not to far from where I live in Connecticut but due to our "Great 👎" gun environment here they left with a couple of other firearm manufacturers. Thanks for sharing and enjoying something we use to make here in this State.

    I saw a mixup98 video on my notifications so I got a cold one and settled in. You look so natural with a lever action or single action revolver in your hands. I bought my Winchester 94 in 1974, my first new gun that I bought myself. It is also in near mint condition. It cost 74 bucks.

    A great video of a beautiful, fun rifle. I was unemployed for few months in 2010 and unfortunately had to part with my Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum. Miss that rifle and these Marlins in 44 Mag don't often come up for sale at a descent price in my area.
