I feel you.. Me and my friend bonded over drinking and understanding each others depression.. Once I started therapy and quit drinking- the friendship got very staticy very quickly...

Oh man, one of my friends is going to be able to try ketamine and I’m so glad! He tried like at least four antidepressants by mouth, but he has pretty bad reflux (has to eat bland food every few hours or throws up!) and they made him sick. He wants to get better, but he’s just had trouble getting access to something that works. I’m really glad it helped you, and I really hope it works for my friend.

This reminds me of my friend's reaction to me going vegan. She kept going on about how it's not more healthy than eating mean and when I said it was for ethical and environmental reasons she started claiming that I was trying to be better than her. Seriously, not every decision in my life is about her.
A year on I'm still vegan and it makes me happy.
There are no environmental reasons to not eat meat.

@@flameofthephoenix8395 There are. Livestock is responsible for 30% of the methane we produce. Methane being a greenhouse gas 80 times worse than Carbon dioxide.
It's also just more energy efficient in general. If I were to eat 100 calories worth of vegetables, then nothing was wasted. But It would take about 1000 calories of vegetables to feed our livestock to get that same 100 calories. Meat should be much more expensive due to this, but money is taken from the our takes to subsidize it, so that way it can look cheaper than it is.
@@thatguythere6161 Green house gases are inconsequential, if methane ever became anything resembling an issue, then there would evolve solutions to this. Also, climate change isn't even a bad thing, as it's constantly fluctuating, and has been long before humans. Also, well it is more efficient in calories to eat plants, as it has been shown time and time again. We humans aren't made for that, at all. Humans need meat, not having meat kills you. As proven simply by looking at vegans who are barely alive.

The thing is, those happen over 100,000 years, but we’ve seen a rapid spike in heat within the past century which is happening way too fast to be explained by these cycles.
In addition to that, the rising CO2 levels are also causing the oceans to become more acidic, which is messing with wildlife in a variety of ways. Even if you don’t believe me about global warming, it’s still an issue that needs to be solved.
Oh, yeah, and if you’re hoping nature will evolve around these issues, you’re right, but that won’t help us much. Evolution takes a LONG time and we’re fucking up the planet faster than most creatures can evolve. The way they will “evolve” is the way the dinosaurs evolved when the meteor hit. By going extinct and making room for other animals who are already adapted to the new environment (which most won’t be).
And that’s still not good for us, because while these parts of the ecosystem die, we still need to eat. It’s especially bad if the algea in the ocean starts dying, and we start running out of air to breathe (I don’t know if that’s what will happen, but that’s the fun part about climate change. We don’t know what seemingly small thing will start killing everything else, like how killing a beaver kills the pond).
Oh yeah, this started out as a vegan debate. Uh, yeah, meat is necessary but we’ve got along fine with much less. It seems like half we eat is meat in the US at least, which is a diet we can only afford because of our inhumane treatment of livestock and previously mentioned tax bullshit.
That’s why I’m not a vegan, but I do try to eat less of it.

I felt that. What really sucks is when you've been around each other for decades, then they decide to move on and "grow up". Growing up sucks. Changing who you loved being just to fit in with the "accepted" norms feels like a betrayal. Not just to your friends you leave behind, but to yourself. That's not counting things that will make you healthy, but those adults who stop liking things because they're deemed "childish". Take it from a 42 year old lonely person who lost most of their friends because they "grew up". Do things that make you happy. Don't worry about what society thinks is proper. Live for life, not social acceptance.
