I still have this lens since I bought it as a kit with the Canon EOS M back in 2013 for $299.00 new from B&H. Yes, the EOS M had a lousy AF but if you’re taking photos in decent light and not fast moving subjects, it’s not bad. This lens proved to be more than enough for my daily use. Years later I picked up the Canon EOS M6 mark i on a big discount when the mark ii was released. World of a difference between the M and M6 mark i. I also got the M50 mark ii years later to have a viewfinder on a compact body, awesome pairing it with the 22mm.
I didn't care for the ef-m system when it first came out. it wasn't until a year ago after I got tired of carrying my huge and heavy dslr with 70-200mm telephoto lens around all day that I wanted a compact system for everyday/travel. That's when I remembered canon had the ef-m line and saw how cool and retro the M6 was. since then, I have the M6 mark ii with 22mm lens as my compact travel bring with me everywhere camera.
The M6 mark II is so great looking, I love the silver color just because how retro it looks as well, funny how compact and powerful it was for the time it got released
Canon M50 and this lens is a brilliant travel kit. Takes up so little room and once you get used to the gear, shoot some grate photos and video. From a personal view- I shoot photos on RAW as i have found the quality on Jpeg when zoom cropping in the digital darkroom was not very good on the M50
Cheers for the review, I just ordered one for my old M6 mk1 and will use it for over-the-shoulder EDC when traveling.
Thank you for watching!! Not a bad pick whatsoever!! The m6 mk1 is very slept on, solid camera!!
great video! just ordered one coming in next week! can't to try it out!
Great purchase!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
@@Astrobuster. just got it yesterday and non stop using it and love it, such an amazing camera! and the size!
Minor correction ~ 2:50 -- the lens does indeed have auto focus. Just controlled with the switch on your camera (or in the settings)
Thank you so much!! I said it by mistake

That lens has been through many bodies of your ownership, that says a lot about how good the lens is, keep enjoying it!!

Overall is a great combo for sure, but yes, cropping with the M50 and with this lens I don’t think it might be the best, for great mix for sure
