Clean 440i bro! I also went from an N55 to B58. It is for sure an upgrade. I never had any major issues with my N55. I think it depends on the previous owners imo
Just came across your channel the other day while I’ve been shopping around for a 340-440i over the past few weeks. love your content that I’ve seen so far and you have me just about sold on the 440 now keep it up bro 🤙🏻
Thanks for the support! Love to hear people actually enjoy my content.. lol. Sorry I haven’t posted much lately. You know how life goes. I hope to start posting a lot more soon. Stay tuned!
Just love this review, Just bought a 2018 440i coupe and as a BMW addict feel is the best i have owned. {seven previose all new} I live in the UK and have read every review on this car. Yours is the best !!!!
Thanks for the feedback! It means a lot. I totally agree the 440 is something special. I haven’t owned as many as you but I think it will be hard to overcome how much I love this car. I would like to get into an F82 M4 next and see how they truly compare. Enjoy your ride, Cheers!
For anyone looking at a B58, my 2¢. Similar boat here. My 2018 340i is at 95k now. About 55k of those miles are stage 2+ with flex fuel. Starting to think about letting her retire back to stock daily for a G82. The only issues I ever had were 1. Coolant cap (B58 issue) 2. Parking brake clip (F series BMW issue in general, not just B58) 3. PCV replacement (B58 issue) Not saying this platform is bulletproof like a toyota corolla that you can beat on for 50k before changing the oil, there are still common issues, but they are so isolated, minor and easy to diagnose/fix compared to other platforms. It still ISN’T a headache free car for your average joe, but if you do just a little bit of research before buying this or any car, then it is 100% worth it. Of course it’s no corolla or mazda3, but it’s damn near as reliable with incomparablely more power and fun per gallon.
@@jaysrt21 Not really they’re all the same. The only thing that I heard on the forums, take this with a huge grain of salt, is that the late 2017 and all 2018 models have revised fuel injectors that are supposedly better and have less failures. I’d still replace them every 60k miles just for regular maintenance though
I got 115k miles still drives like when it had 200 miles only thing I’ve done was oil change obviously and struts other than that car runs beautiful 2017 440i F36
Loving my 2017 F36 XDrive. Just turned 150,000km the other day. Outside of normal wear and tear items, the only issue I've had with the car is a dash light for a passenger airbag fault (which to be honest...I haven't been able to track down yet) and the original battery is finally calling uncle. Otherwise....rock sold. Tons of power, great on fuel, great driving. Best vehicle I've ever owned.
Sorry I just saw this. Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear another case of a solid B58. I too have an airbag fault lol. But my e90 335i had the same fault! Must be a bmw thing..
Great video and I love the exterior mods you've done! I'm the original owner of a mineral white metallic (nice color btw:)) 2018 M240i X-drive which now has about 36,000 miles and it's encouraging to see your higher mileage B58 holding up so well. Last year once the warranty expired, I installed a CTS Turbo catted downpipe, MHD stage 2 tune, and an Xhp stage 2 transmission tune and I love the performance boost all of that has made! It is my daily driver and the only issue was the check engine light kept coming on intermittently. It turned out to be a slight leak where the turbo flange and downpipe connect and despite thinking I had installed everything correctly, (including a new gasket), I was wrong! It hasn't given me any issues since so you might want to double-check that first before taking your car to a shop where a "mechanic" misdiagnoses the issue as a faulty rear (after cat) 02 sensor. Had I agreed to the "repair", I would have wasted a few hundred bucks "fixing" the issue to no avail, but that's a whole different story for another day.
I just turned 76,000 miles on my 2019 440i Gran Coupe. It's tuned with about 10k worth of all the right goodies to get it to 425hp. Zero issues. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the tires. I run Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, while simply amazing tires, they only last about 7 months. I'm on my third set and it's not cheap. FWIW, I've driven Toyotas since day one, when I was 16 back in 1993. I never loved any of my cars...they were just okay and a means of transportation. But b/c the Supra shares the B58, I felt comfortable pulling the trigger on the BMW. Nearly 5 years in and I still love driving my 440i. It's just a badass car that gets great mileage in eco mode on the freeway and can light up just about any car short of a Porsche or supercar. It's nice to have serious power on tap when needed. Just a joy to drive.
Thanks for commenting, very well put. 5 years of ownership! You should be doing this review, haha. I bet you know a lot about this platform. I switched to Continental DWS all seasons which market as “ultra high performance all season” and it’s been good. Summer compounds are great though. Glad a BMW is what gave you that love for cars in the end 😂
@@beaterbeemerhaha. Yeah, after 5 years, I suppose I could give my two cents on at least the 440i. I think it's the best looking hatchback that doesn't look like a hatchback, on the road...big enough to haul all my guitar and bass amps with the seats folded down.
I went from a F32 440 M sport to a G42 M240xi this past August. Not gonna lie I do sometimes miss the 440 due to the fact that it was gray and way easier to keep clean. The thundernight metallic on the M240 is nice but a pain to maintain. My 440 was a 2018 and had 43k miles on it when I sold it. Only mods I had was a a inlet and intake pipe, BM3 Stage 1 93 tune, carbon fiber spoiler, calipers painted black, and black M style kidney grills(like you have). Car was bullet proof and gave me zero issues, not even coolant loss. And it's funny cause initially I also went from a 11 E92 335xi (N55) to a F32 440xi.
That’s awesome to hear. Sounds like we’ve had similar bmw journeys! How are you liking the M240 other than that? Better than the 440? I can’t deny it’s lighter but with the mods I have, the 440 is so fast. And has tons of room to get faster and I really don’t feel like “man, I wish I was in a lighter car”. But for some folks it’s 240 or bust 🤷🏻♂️
@@beaterbeemer It's a great little car. It's quicker than my old stage 1 BM3 tuned 440. In sports plus that thing takes off like a rocked and that's without launch control. Coming back from my night shift this morning I took off at a light and even with my winter tires and 18s on, that thing flew . Oh and anyone with a G42 M240 wondering, the 18in Style 796M winter setup will fit over the large red calipers.
Great video - I had a 2015 435 GC and now a 2019 440i GC which I bought new off the showroom floor. My 440i GC only has 35k miles but it’s been great, I bought it in October 2018 and have driven it daily ever since. I’ve never had any mechanical problems with the car or my B58. I love the car, I wish I had known about PPF back in 2018, I absolutely would’ve done PPF as the rock chips drive me crazy, it’s the only downside to my vehicle, everything else is mint😊🙏🏽
Sorry I just saw this. Thanks for the comment! The 4 series is the sweet spot am I right? These cars are just perfect. I too have a ton of rock chips and wish I had PPF’d but I’ve decided I won’t worry so much if it’s my daily driver
@@plamendobrev5416 the GC looks a lot nicer than the 3 (lower and wider), has way more legroom in the front (seats are mounted in the same spot as the 4 coupe), easier to load larger items though the hatch, and there are no height obstructions from the tunnel when the seats are folded down. I have never used the back seat for people, so I was happy to trade rear legroom for front leg room. If it weren't for the hatch, I would have gotten the coupe. A coupe with the hatch is the dream.
I had a 435 with 80k miles, only thing messed up was the charge pipe. I got a 440i with 107k miles the only thing so far has been the oil filter housing and radiator. Total of $3062, not too bad.
i had the same problem with my 340i! i Did it myself so i only paid 500 for my oil filter housing. Had to remove the dme and intake manifold, chargepipe and intake it was scary! Thankfully everything went well, i even changed a lot of gaskets to future proof!
bro ive got a b58 with 170k on it and it still runs decents ive had to replace hoses but internally the engine is sound after routine oil changes and no extreme mods
I had a 2017 440i loved the car it was great had no issues except when I sold it and I had mines at 29k and I sold it at 41k I will say there are some issues starting to pop up with them nothing really major but I will say if left not fixed it can lead to major issues one I’ve seen a lot with these first gen and the pvc caps they tend to fail quite a bit and they start causing major like issues but not really they cause the car to have uneven idle and horrible noise from the engine bay like a broken turbo and horrible smoke from the exhaust but it’s a very easy fix it’s just needs a replacement pcv cap cause the factory ones fail over time due to heat or wear and it’s just a rubber piece that breaks which I’m still confused on why such a cap can cause such major like problems but can be fixed easily. So watch out on that and second the turbo on these first gen b58 turbos it’s like a 50/50 some can last forever some can start leaking early on and I’ve seen it personally on some of my buddy’s b58 that they start leaking at 40k miles and break super easily and it may be due to the tunes they’ve done or boost these gen 1 turbos don’t hold up well over time they can hold boost pretty well but over time I’ve seen them start leaking or blow but I don’t know if that’s for everyone so watch out on these cars I’m not saying they will break but I’m just saying it’s a 50/50. AND DONT DO PIGGY BACK TUNES they start causing some problems with cars more related to fuel some piggyback tunes are great but some can cause major issues over time from what I’ve heard. And one other thing the crankcase they tend to break a lot or start cracking and they can lead to very major problems but if you can catch it very early one you should be good and it’s just a hose that’s on the front and it’s like 100$ to change but mines was starting to go out and I had my check engine light on and just go out and sometimes go in limp but once I had it changed all of it went away but I’m not saying that those problems will happen to you it’s just how some of these first gen’s are some are good and some are bad but with this engine most of them are good and I would just say just keep on top of your maintenance and don’t push your cars too much and make sure that your within your limits on this engine. And yes the tread thing is very real I had a rwd version and mines threw a code when I only changed the rear you have to let the car know you change the tires so just reset the tpm sensors unless you replaced them with the same size or tires it won’t throw the chassis code but if you go a little bit bigger they will throw a code I don’t know why but they act super weird with the tires. But this is what I’ve seen personally with these cars big overall these engines are super great amazing probably the best BMW engine I’ve seen for cheap tuning and great maintenance and I was pushing around 450 hp and 500 torque and it’s a fun car if you guys want to see my old one I have a insta it’s blank.440i. This is what I’ve seen personally on some of these cars but I will say this is if not the best platform for beginners or first time BMW drivers to go for this is one if not the best platforms to start off on and if you haven’t driven one I would highly recommend taking a test drive in one these engines can make crazy torque and very easy horsepower with the right tuning. But just be careful with some of these cars but just best advice just be on top of your maintenance that’s all.
70k on my m240i so far, me personally havnt had any issues but the previous owner told me there was alot of smoke from exhaust turned out to be pcv and bmw replaced the valve cover at around 56k miles, also he said it had an exhaust rattle bmw replaced the valve at around 60k miles, those were the only problems with this car atleast, still strong doe as of now no major issues
Nice! Love to hear it. I’ve got the exhaust rattle too, but just unplugged the valve to get rid of it and never actually fixed haha. My pcv has been good as far as I know but we now have an extended warranty on that which is nice
Appreciate the giveaway and can’t believe I won!🔥 Great video, super informative about the FCP Euro! I’ll definitely check them out and keep that in mind!
Your probably already aware but there is one issue with the B58 plastic water pump 2015-2018, bmw and toyota engineered a fix to update that to an aluminum one. Its a one for one easy swap and I highly recommend getting out ahead of the issue.
Hey, thanks for the insights. Do you mind sharing the link or part number? I'm not seeing anything regarding plastic water pump revised rather the oil filter housing. Thanks
As long as previous owners took care of the car bmw’s inline 6’s are bulletproof going 200k plus miles fairly easy, i currently own 2 one at 170k miles no major issues just regular maintenance
@beaterbeemer Is yours a Gen 2 B58? I know the Auto Stop Start will probably go at 4 years. Other cars just lack what a B58 brings. Needs to be in a Tacoma Raptor experiment
@@machspeed8153 mine is a gen1 2017 model year. One of the first. And is has the auto stop/start but luckily it’s a button above the ignition you can press to disable and it remembers the state so it will remain disabled until you press it again. Even if you shut off the car. It will also do it automatically if in eco pro mode which I never do. Might as well remove the option all together I hate that mode
My friend‘s g30 540i is 87kmiles and he just had a transmission oil leak. Replaced some kind of seal, parts around 500$ and labor is 1100$😂which makes me nervous I just turned 41k miles.
I just crossed to 101k miles on my 2017 340i xDrive. Similar boat as you. Honestly, its been dead reliable and I got it at 78k miles. I did a few preventative maintenance things like the brake fluid, coolant flush, and I have new injectors in the car. I heard stories of injector failure as the car gets up in miles and I wanted to nip that in the bud. It does burn a little oil here and there, but I'm stage 2 MHD tuned with a catless dp on 93 octane. The burbles burn a little oil whenever they go crazy on this map. I carry a few quarts with me but often time it's literally less than a quarter of a quart needed to top it off. Next, I put four new tires on, did brakes all around, and yeah, it honestly is rock solid. Had a few software glitches but most of em sort themselves out without my intervention and I never even knew it occurred if not for me randomly scanning the car to search for inactive or past codes. Its got a carbon grille, alcantara wheel, carbon fiber mirror caps, M Style Carbon Spoiler, and Carbon Ceramic Brake Pads.
@@Tachyon836 Yo! Thanks for the comment. This is great information for people to read and know it’s not just me, but a lot of people having great experiences with the B58. You’ve done more prevention than me - I need to do fluid flushes and injectors. Spark plugs are next for me. And just replaced all brake pads + rotors. Need rear tires but all that stuff is standard wear and tear! I’ve got full confidence in my 440. Enjoy the ride!

This video really helps me out brother! I’ve been eager to buy a 2019 440i and I plan to getting it in a few months. I’m also from the DC Maryland area and there isn’t really 440’s around nor on the internet, I think it’s a very underrated car with a decently good power potential
Glad you liked it thanks for the support! Just keep holding out bro and if one pops up suddenly don’t impulse buy it ya know. Make sure it’s the one for you or keep waiting if you can. I personally searched a couple months before I found mine and drove 3 hours to get it. 2019 will be nice though! Let me get those headlights 😬
I had a terrible experience with a 1998 528i. Electrical issues and constant water pump and thermostat issues. I hear BMW nowadays have sorta stepped up their reliability. I can’t afford any of the newer BMW’s however I am thinking about a BMW F900r motorcycle.
@@keltecdan geez sorry to hear that, I had a whole bunch of stuff wrong with my car that I couldn’t handle myself, like vacuum leaks, rear main seal, etc. then I did most of the repairs myself, coil packs, spark plugs, injectors, fuel pump (was done at a shop), so yeah this car was a nightmare but now I’m enjoying it 👍🏽
Thank you so much for great content!! Thanks for the support! Glad you enjoy it. I’m hoping to start posting more frequently again soon. Congrats on the pickup! The B58 will never get old you’ll just love it more as you mod it. My wheels are 255/35/19 all around. Pretty sure xdrive likes a square setup 👍🏻
XDrive is so finicky that when my dad rotated his tires the system didn’t function correctly until he swapped them back lol. No issues replacing two at once using the same tires, but apparently rotation for even tread wear is an issue
I regret not mentioning it but I honestly haven’t had that issue myself. I topped off coolant when I bought the car a year ago and haven’t touched it since. Also haven’t checked it in a while but if it was a problem I would think I’d get a low coolant warning by now
I haven't had this issue either but since these cars produce quite a bit of heat and the expansion tank feeds the intercooler I believe it could just be evaporating gradually over years of ownership. I had mine a tad low and just topped it off but been at the same level since.
@@beaterbeemer You should still check. The warning doesn't come up until it very low. I didn't check mine for 6 months and it was lower then where it should be.
I was looking at the m440i xdrive Test drove and loved it. I started researching and now I’m concerned about the B58 gen 3 motor. Don’t know if I want to risk the issues.
@@LeopardShark21 Sounds like a great deal if clean title and no damage! I’m assuming it’s a gen1 b58 like mine, 2017 maybe. My e90 N55 on the other hand is sitting with a blown radiator hose lol
Impressive information regarding purchases through fcpa ? Thank you for your valuable bmw information ! It’s sounds like you’re pretty fortunate with the 2017 model 🤩
you mention the lifetime warranty but when i requested to send back the oil they wanted me to buy an oil change kit first and then send that order # from that kit to be able to send the old oil back to them
@@blurryvizin1823 yes you need to provide proof that you’ve already purchased the oil from them. If you have an FCPeuro order number for your oil you want to send back they will accept it. But you can’t just send them any old oil.. how else would they confirm you bought it through them originally?
You order once to get in the system. Then, when you order the second time around you return the original order and get a refund. You still have to pay for that second order up front. But after that your “in the system” and won’t have to pay ever again
@@beaterbeemeroh okay so since i’ve done that already, i can just ship that same kit back since i bought it for my recent oil change without having to pay for the kit again , and just pay the shipping? i’ve been buying oil from them since i got my 330i last year but i finally did the refund thing on my recent oil change but i had to buy a kit (which i know they reimburse through store credit) im sorry if im making this confusing 😅
@@blurryvizin1823 no problem haha, it seems so simple until you start really thinking about it lol. Sounds like you’re good though! If you have a used oil change kit in your possession, old oil etc. etc. and you can lookup your order number for that order, then you’re good! They ask you to print out a return form which is where you include the order number. That’s all they want. So yea sounds like you should be good. Return your oil change kit with the form containing your order # tossed inside the box. Pay shipping. And wait for your store credit :)
I found a black 440i coupe that i really want but with the high interest rates the payment would be $700/ month. My current car is 2017 accord coupe v6 and only pay $300/month its so cheap
Awh man yea 700 is pretty high especially for a car like this as great as it is. Not sure that leaving your accord for a 440i is worth $500 extra but that’s just me! Good luck 👍🏻
@@drepark2294you think it’s worth it though? Plus the cost of insurance I’m in Cali so roughly maybe $250-300 monthly for insurance is the best I’ve seen so far. I’m looking at the infinity Q60 they’re pretty nice but the interior just won’t hold up for me. At least BMW interiors are a bit nicer. The only thing I dislike about BMWs is the reliability issue and the same overused odometer on almost every single model besides the ones with digital dash.
Get the MHD super license, it's great. Easy to use and all the options are fun (rolling antilag, multimap, burble override, valet map with reduced power, etc.)

Haha nice we’ve had a similar journey. Thanks for showing me the chassis code isn’t just an xdrive thing. Thought for sure it was xdrive related. You’re saying it might be a coilover thing 🤔
You have to match outer diameter on Xdrive cars so your tires may be same diameter but in reality it could be slightly different (I think the tolerance is 1% at least on g series so I would check that). It seems easiest to just run square wheels.
Yes well put, for this very reason the previous owner sourced two sets of front 437m wheels to achieve square because they only came staggered. It’s currently because I have summer compounds in the back and all seasons in the front like a dummy
It’s a 2017 pre LCI model gen 1 B58. I think any gen 2 versions are better for power because of the upgraded high pressure fuel pump but I don’t know if there are any core changes to the motor. I think the pre lci gen 1 models are the best value currently. Gets you into a B58 for as cheap as possible
Yes, check your owners manual. Our cars accept tons of different viscosity from 0w30 up to 5w40. And for a tuned, higher mileage b58 application thicker is better. Don’t put that thin crap in your car
I run 5w40 as well, going any 5/0w20 in florida just feels sketch, my oil will be as hot as anywhere all the time. thicker oils are better for not thinning out and giving you a yeeted bearing
@@zixicheng8170 congrats! You bought a great car. Unless it’s very high mileage the maintenance should be very reasonable. I’m at 110k, had it for two years now and no major maintenance issues aside from standard things like brakes and oil. That’s a big plus of these B58’s, very reliable. If you are talking performance mods most people just start with a downpipe and tune. Easy way to unlock stage 2 and gain about 100hp and tq like it’s nothing. Very safe power for a B58 as well. No supporting mods needed until you want 500+ hp. You have the gen2 b58 so your high pressure fuel pump is already great!
I’m not really sure without the Carfax in front of me. The dealership didn’t offer service records outside of what you find on Carfax. I personally change the oil every 3-5k miles ✌🏻
Hey so this car actually gets good gas mileage! If my math is correct, this car gets about 30 miles to the gallon (50km) so 100km would consume about 2 gallons. And around 600 kilometers in a tank. Normal driving of course. Aggressive driving is around 38 km per gallon
Hey sorry for the late response. 1000% I think it’s a great first sports car. You can pick them up pretty cheap and with little mods they can be faster than most cars on the road. Just be prepared to spend money on it haha. The routine maintenance on a bmw is more strict than other cars and you don’t wanna let it go to shit. Treat it right it will treat you right
Hey bro I was thinking about getting a bmw 2022 2 series 228i x drive with 40,000 miles on it I really really want it but Scotty Kilmer basically scared the life outta me saying it’s an endless money pit Ik you don’t have all the answers but do you think it could be reliable
Hey thanks for reaching out. I don’t know much about the new generation but I know a 228i should be naturally aspirated, and therefore it’s instantly more reliable than a turbo charge bmw lol. Plus 40k miles in my opinion is still new as hell. If I were you I wouldn’t be worried. But of course there’s so many factors that go into this bro. Your current life situation, your income, your knowledge working on cars, your age and insurance costs etc etc. you gotta make the call on if you can really afford it or if it’s gonna run your margins too tight. Cuz nothing is guaranteed and you don’t wanna bet everything on the car never breaking ya know? But I say go for it and don’t look back. And save yourself tons of money by doing small jobs yourself and buy from fcpeuro for the lifetime warranty. Good luck!
You always change all 4 tyres and have to put the right sizes on xDrive otherwise over time the transfer case will not like it at all. That’s one of the downsides to awd bmw’s
You’re right and I didn’t know that, had to learn the hard way. Luckily it seems the opposite happened for me and my transfer case calmed down over time because I haven’t had the chassis code pop up in months 🤷🏻♂️
Sorry for the late reply but there is a plug leading to your exhaust valve on the left side tailpipe. What you would do is unplug it from the tailpipe, and instead plug it into this dummy plug you buy from ECS. It’s not necessary, just helps to weather proof. As long as you’ve unplugged the exhaust valve it should stop rattling
I’ve got a 2018 440i that I got 6 months. It has 55k miles in the clock. Just done an oil change and found an alarming amount of aluminium/ metal in the oil. Anyone else had this? Great car but I think my engine is on borrowed time.
@@garrymillstones517 I’m sorry to hear of this development for you! Obviously I haven’t seen this in my car but good luck hopefully someone can offer some insight
I’ve been meaning to make a video for everyone, but what you do is you buy the product once, keep the box. And then the second time you order that same product, you can send them back the old product in original packaging along with a return form you fill out and include in the box. They give you a full rebate! You just had to pay return shipping. This can be fluids too. So I do it for my oil change kits
So I just moved to the USA 3 weeks ago, first thing I bought was a 440i xdrive 2019. Can you tell me more about this lifetime oil & brake change. I know fcp euro and I used to order my parts online from them from my home country. But I don’t know how I can get “lifetime” parts.
Sure man, and welcome to the states! I’m going to try my best here, but let’s say you want to buy the oil change kit for your b58. So you buy it once and pay full price obviously. The next time you change your oil, you buy the kit again (technically you’ve bought it twice now) but this time you can put the old, used oil and filter back into the containers they came in. Just reuse the jugs and box from the 2nd kit you bought. Fcpeuro has a lifetime warranty return sheet that you have to print out, fill out, and include in your return package. They’ll give you a full rebate and now you’re golden! Use the rebate and never pay for oil changes again after the initial 2 purchases (technically purchase 2 is being refunded). Hope this helps! I’m bad at explaining things haha. You do have to pay for shipping which should be about $20
You should not do your own oil changes. You should take it to the dealer and they always give you a free inspection and suggested maintenance. You can then do whats needed at home yourself.
@@Nocasejah it’s difficult for me to say since it’s an m340i I’m assuming it’s the newer generation, and then I’m not so knowledgeable on good prices. I’ve got the genuine 437m’s in size 19 wrapped in 255/35/19 tires all around. Funny enough though, I just learned that all genuine M wheels come staggered.. there are no square set M wheels. @@beaterbeemer yeah more than likely. when i bought my car, it came with 20x9.5 w/ 245/35/20. Just love this review, Just bought a 2018 440i coupe and as a BMW addict

The only issues I ever had were
1. Coolant cap (B58 issue)
2. Parking brake clip (F series BMW issue in general, not just B58)
3. PCV replacement (B58 issue)
Not saying this platform is bulletproof like a toyota corolla that you can beat on for 50k before changing the oil, there are still common issues, but they are so isolated, minor and easy to diagnose/fix compared to other platforms.
It still ISN’T a headache free car for your average joe, but if you do just a little bit of research before buying this or any car, then it is 100% worth it. Of course it’s no corolla or mazda3, but it’s damn near as reliable with incomparablely more power and fun per gallon.
Is there any year to avoid? I’m looking at a 2017 440i GC for 16k w 80k miles.

You didn't run into any electrical or ecu problems?
I am around 93,000 miles and it has been rock solid. I am lowkey kinda waiting for something to happen but she is strong.
Same here man, I’m about to hit 101k and I plan to take it to a shop for a full inspection at least

I love the car, I wish I had known about PPF back in 2018, I absolutely would’ve done PPF as the rock chips drive me crazy, it’s the only downside to my vehicle, everything else is mint😊🙏🏽
Why choose the 440i GC over the 340i?
Sorry I just saw this. Thanks for the comment! The 4 series is the sweet spot am I right? These cars are just perfect. I too have a ton of rock chips and wish I had PPF’d but I’ve decided I won’t worry so much if it’s my daily driver
@@plamendobrev5416 for one thing. The GC is actually a hatchback. That may be the deciding factor? 4 series also may be a tad bit more spacey
Sorry for the late reply.. thanks for commenting! Good to know to look out for those things. Knock on wood I haven’t had any of those issues
bro ive got a b58 with 170k on it and it still runs decents ive had to replace hoses but internally the engine is sound after routine oil changes and no extreme mods

100k miles with no issues for a BMW is very rare and impressive for a BMW. 150k is borderline biblical.

Must be the natural evolution of a bmw owner my next car will be b58 coming from an n55
For sure! I will say I still have my 335i. I want an N55 and a B58 haha
The B58 is considered one of the most reliable engines in the market.
Don’t do it. I just got a 2023 m440 with 3k miles. Car note is 800 a month. I also have a 2012 accord v6 that I’m looking to pass to my nephew.
I’m torn between this and BM3. Does MHD mask check engine light?
@@beaterbeemer I have an air intake & stage 1 tune with MHD and never had any check engine lights. I think the same goes for Stage 2 with a downpipe but haven't tried it yet

Need another update video
@@aznskrachmaztah you’re right, I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while! You’ll be pleased to hear the car is at 109k currently and just as reliable as when I made this video 🙏🏻
Great vid. Well done. Nice car!
Bootmod3 is great for the DP error that gets thrown up
I think that’s gonna be the move. Do you have personal experience with it masking your CEL?
I run kw v2s on a rwd 240i and I still get the chassis code. Thanks for the info, we have almost the exact same car (I'm 240 with b58 with kws and gts tails), I also have emissions this Dec and can't decide on a tune until then lol. Take Care
What year is this ? Looking forward to buying one and I wanna know which are the best
5w40?!! Are we talking about the same b58?
Yes, check your owners manual. Our cars accept tons of different viscosity from 0w30 up to 5w40. And for a tuned, higher mileage b58 application thicker is better. Don’t put that thin crap in your car
I run 5w40 as well, going any 5/0w20 in florida just feels sketch, my oil will be as hot as anywhere all the time. thicker oils are better for not thinning out and giving you a yeeted bearing
@@russsle exactly! I blew the motor on my high mileage 335i because I switch from 5w30 all its life to 0w30 on the recommendation of a bmw tech.
Just bought a 2020 440i with almost all packages, do u have any recommendations on modifications or maintenance?
Great Video! I have the same car with same mileage. My experience is the same as yours.
Glad you liked the video! And to hear I’m not full of crap haha.
Beautiful 4 series bro
@@elpajero3259 thanks! Can you tell I wanted an M4? Haha
Can you tell us what was the maintenance interval when you bought that car? Like how often the oil was changed from previously owner/s?
I’m not really sure without the Carfax in front of me. The dealership didn’t offer service records outside of what you find on Carfax. I personally change the oil every 3-5k miles ✌🏻

@@chrishardin4821 can you explain what you mean by this?
Beater Beemer is the only reason I use YT👍🏻
I hear my idle fluctuate on start ups and everyone I see does too must be a b58 thing
I try not to worry myself about things like that, my N55 335i did the same thing. Might just be a bmw thing haha or vanos solenoids need cleaning
I have same year 440 white as well mine has 70k on it!!
She’s fresh!
Dude R U About the cats and the tires.
I'm thinking about 440i with 160k kilometers/ 100k miles. Have you changed the bearing and the timing chain?
Nice review 👍🏻
Hello, How much gasoline does this car consume approximately, when driving normally for 100 km.., or how many kilometers do you travel with 1 tank.🙂
Hey so this car actually gets good gas mileage! If my math is correct, this car gets about 30 miles to the gallon (50km) so 100km would consume about 2 gallons. And around 600 kilometers in a tank. Normal driving of course. Aggressive driving is around 38 km per gallon
Bro do you think this car will be a good car for someone who only drove suvs and hatchbacks? Will it be a good first sports car?
Hey sorry for the late response. 1000% I think it’s a great first sports car. You can pick them up pretty cheap and with little mods they can be faster than most cars on the road. Just be prepared to spend money on it haha. The routine maintenance on a bmw is more strict than other cars and you don’t wanna let it go to shit. Treat it right it will treat you right
@@beaterbeemer thank you so much! You’re content is awesome man keep it up
Get an X3 M40i. It has the same drivetrain as this 440 with the added practicality of an SUV.
This car is basically bulletproof! 80K miles and counting, not a single issue with it!
That’s what I love to hear!
Hey bro I was thinking about getting a bmw 2022 2 series 228i x drive with 40,000 miles on it
I really really want it but Scotty Kilmer basically scared the life outta me saying it’s an endless money pit
Ik you don’t have all the answers but do you think it could be reliable
Luckily it seems the opposite happened for me and my transfer case calmed down over time because I haven’t had the chassis code pop up in months 🤷🏻♂️
how did you manage to fix the exhaust rattle i have the same issue.... i didn't understand what u said in the video
Sorry for the late reply but there is a plug leading to your exhaust valve on the left side tailpipe. What you would do is unplug it from the tailpipe, and instead plug it into this dummy plug you buy from ECS. It’s not necessary, just helps to weather proof. As long as you’ve unplugged the exhaust valve it should stop rattling
what tail lights are those
They are the VLAND M4 GTS style.

@@garrymillstones517 I’m sorry to hear of this development for you! Obviously I haven’t seen this in my car but good luck hopefully someone can offer some insight
Explain how you do that of fcp euro???😂 i’m really interested
You do have to pay for shipping which should be about $20
Hahaha, im also very bad at explaining things but that was easy to understand, thanks a lot man.
You should not do your own oil changes. You should take it to the dealer and they always give you a free inspection and suggested maintenance. You can then do whats needed at home yourself.
yea they definitely be taking your money with ease my guy..
Hey do you think a m340i with 68k miles good?
