I’ve influenced my kids, they all are definitely metal heads like their dad. But when I play this, they’re always what’s up with his singing. His voice and how king uses it, that’s what they don’t like. I tell them, his voice and lyrics is what makes them legendary. King Fuckin Diamond. 🤘🏻

I remember listening to, and taping, the Radio One session on the Friday Rock show. It blew my tiny little mind, I had Satan's Fall on repeat for a year.
Death Metal & Black Metal has burned 🔥 In my soul since the beginning around 1982 and still listen to the music today . Rock on 🤘. King & Company had a big influence on me.

One time long ago, my brother and friends and I put on the strobe light, took a bunch of acid, and played darts for about 20 hrs. This album was on repeat the whole time. So crazy, so good.

The bastard child of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in all it's rawest two guitar glory. You can almost hear the analog tape drag the music over the magnetic head to the next spool. Then there's King Diamond and his most unusual Danish roar from the raw punk beginnings to soaring falsetto those who follow all know now.

Of all my MF cd's, I listen to this one, and In the Shadows the most. I know Melissa, and Oath are more popular, but I just prefer the guitars better. Just my opinion. Only King, and Rob can hit these notes. Two of the best, early Metal Gods!!

In The year of this First audition i was in Studio......my heart jump fast ...i Said ...hells have a Voice.....king diamond
MF had some of the most sinister riffs and progressions. maybe they werent the forefathers but slayer also had ill demonic progressions, but they came afterward.
I think MF owes a lot to Sabbath but they really upped the thrashy and evil stuff 😀
Kerry King once said that 'Hell Awaits' is more or less a tribute to MF
BBC Radio.. if only they would play this nowadays. I tuned into the radio for the first time in a long time the other day and it was some autotuned monstrosity.

I'll be honest I love the more melodic tone of King's voice in his later works but the guitar work in these early songs is so extremely fabulous his voice does not even bother me.
